This thread has veered off in a strange direction. Anyways, people are really trying to prove everything with Scripture on here and that just seems a gross misuse of Scripture. If all of Christian Tradition or the teachings of Christ were contained inside of Scripture then the writings would have filled every book on earth(at the time granted, but still a lot). So to say that you have to be able to prove every Tradition by scripture is silly, because you are taking Scripture, mainly the Gospels, and Epistles out of their original and intended purposes and trying to use them as a lens by which to read all of what has been preserved in the Church. Scripture is not apart from the rest, but it is a part of the rest. Also Tradition doesn't contradict scripture, but often times peoples understanding of Scripture.

The other thing is, I trust the LXX because Christians have been using it for 2,000 years. Not because Scholars today tell me that it is reliable or not reliable. Scholars today also say that the Jews never went to Egypt, and that they have always lived in the same place. I choose to trust the Church because I believe it is being honest, I also choose to distrust scholars because often times they are looking to pick away at the Bible and Christian History. It is up to you though, but if it was good enough for the Church, wiser and greater men than I have used the LXX and I shall cast my lot in with them.
