FEMA guillotines: A warning for Christians

It's more fun to read Revelation as a series of predictions of the future and to get all dark and paranoid as we plug this or that person or event into it (Guillotines! Coffins!! Plots!!!), but I think the more serious questions about Revelation are the moral ones. Who are the good guys and who are the bad guys in the story and why are they doing the things they're doing? Do the answers to those questions change at any points in the story? How does it reflect on early Christianity? What does it tell us about how adopting Christianity effects one's psyche for the better or even for the worse?

If we zero in on the subject of genocide, then who is ultimately behind the genocide in Revelation, what are their reasons for the genocide, what are our responses to the genocide and what moral lessons can we draw from our answers?

As far as I'm aware, and I haven't read Revelation in ages, but it is telling the story of the future battle between Jesus and His forces for justice and good, and Satan with his army of evil dooers and worshippers.

Yet, it's the Lamb and the various creatures of heaven orchestrating and carrying out the destructive acts. If you don't feel like reading the whole book, just read chapter 6, which has been under some discussion here. If justice demands the venting of wrath in the form of evil works, even from the Lamb, then what is Good? If we're going to be looking at pamphlets on internment and resettlement and deciding if what they outline is a good idea or not, we need to be able to work through the very moral questions that Revelation touches on.

Perhaps Revelation is a cautionary tale, but a more difficult one to unpack than it might appear on the surface.

So presumably it would be even easier to line people up along a raised walkway and shoot them, letting their bodies fall onto the conveyer belt. Guillotines seem messy and inefficient for mass slaughter.

Ah yes, if you're going to take the time to put each body in a coffin and bury it as opposed to, oh, maybe just stacking them high and burning them, then the extra time to operate a guillotine is pretty trivial.

I have to admit that his guillotine thing has been overblown, especially people using images of just any guillotine to add dramatic effect. This is why there are no pictures in the bible, because the words speak for themselves. There may be guillotines or may not, who knows. Revelation does make it clear that Christians will be beheaded so I would not be surprised if the government had them. I know that using guillotines would definitely not be a very efficient way of execution as far as logistics, but it would have a very strong psychological effect on others, forcing them into conversion. I think we should be more concerned with the fact that men of great power like most of our presidents, and the heads of major corporations have been attending the Bohemian Grove where they engage in what is basically idol worship. I know some people on the net speculate that they may actually be sacrificing a real human being since you hear a blood curdling scream when it happens, this is not confirmed and they most likely just use an effigy. Even if they are just using an effigy they are still participating in idol worship. The point is there is something sinister going on, and our government along with the most powerful people in the world are involved.

Christian's got bored of trying to spread Christianity's influence over the world by force; Muslim extremists will tire eventually also. It will take time.
Like with Christianity, Islam seems a lot more extreme than it actually is thanks to fundamentalists being the loudest voice, Not helped by the media looking for stories with shock value.
There are still Christian fundamentalists who wish to spread Christianity over the world and make it the world religion also; they just tend not to support violence any more.


Another point worth noting:
Jihad isn't always violent. In fact, that's the worst kind of Jihad under Islam, known as lower Jihad if i remember correctly.
Higher Jihad refers to any a non-violent struggle(debates, inner-conflicts ETC) concerning theology and is revered much more than lower Jihad and is expected to be employed instead of lower Jihad whenever possible.
When a Muslim references Jihad, it should not be assumed to mean violence.
