Guess what... this century will trump them all :swoon:

Rev 6:8
I looked, and there before me was a pale horse! Its rider was named Death, and Hades was following close behind him. They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine and plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth.

Cool, because pale horse means 21st century in conspiracy theorese?

(I seem to recall people saying the same thing in the 20th century, but I guess we'll just ignore them. Wouldn't want to effect tin foil sales, would we?)

Really?
Check out this Wiki. You see that the 20th Century has a greater number of large death tolls due to war than any other. (double the 19th C)
And almost ALL the genocides occurred in that century too!

List of wars and anthropogenic disasters by death toll - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
*sigh* because the 20th century had the largest population. In pure numbers, yes, more people died in wars in the 20th C (not to mention most complete records come fromthe 20th C. Precise figures for, say, Temujin's excesses are impossible to get). But in terms of per capita, I think you'll find things like the New World Conquista and the 30 years war surpass anything that happened in the 20th Century.

The Albigensian Crusade, the Livonian Crusade, and the British colonisation of Tasmania were all pretty successful genocides. In fact, the only successful recorded genocide in history is that of the Tasmanian Aborigines. And its 19th Century.

Oh, more people to kill... that's OK then... phew, here was me thinking the 20th C was the most bloody in history.
Thanks for putting it in perspective for me :o

Way to miss the point.

You tell me which is worse, losing a million people when your population is 100 million, or losing 500,000 when your population is 3 million?

Why don't you enlighten us as to what you think the pale horse means BB
There are about a thousand different interpretations. So depends who you ask. I've even seen some interpretations that say the white horseman is Christ (!). The most common interpretation is pestilence, I think.

Never seen anyone interpret the white horse as the 21st century before, though.

On closer inspection, the white horseman could be Christ.
Rev 6:2 And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.

When the kings of the earth gather together for the battle of Armageddon against Christ and his army (that's us, I believe), he'll appear on a white horse wearing many crowns.
Rev 19:11-12 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.

Perhaps the white horseman of Rev 6:2 is Christ and the verse is a reference to a great revival. Sounds good! I do believe a big one is coming.

(I wasn't referring to the white horseman as being the 21C. Just that I thought it would appear in this C)

So you'd prefer to live in the 1800s? How about the Middle Ages? Maybe the 1930s even. A great time so long as you weren't black, Jewish, gay, or a woman!
Between modern sanitation and modern medicine, I prefer now.

So was that a yes or a no? And if it's a yes, which period of human history would you prefer to live in?

(Also, my point never was that societies becoming more civilised (even though I believe they are, by and large, it was that quality of life has steadily been rising, which means the Illuminati are doing a fairly poor job of keeping people miserable, which you've stated to be their goal.)

This is very true . We've never had better living conditions, and this is the bst century to live in so far. If the Illuminati are trying to keep people miserable, they're doing a very poor job of it.

Who gives them the power to do this? Is it a good thing that they are doing?

It's more fun to read Revelation as a series of predictions of the future and to get all dark and paranoid as we plug this or that person or event into it (Guillotines! Coffins!! Plots!!!), but I think the more serious questions about Revelation are the moral ones. Who are the good guys and who are the bad guys in the story and why are they doing the things they're doing? Do the answers to those questions change at any points in the story? How does it reflect on early Christianity? What does it tell us about how adopting Christianity effects one's psyche for the better or even for the worse?

If we zero in on the subject of genocide, then who is ultimately behind the genocide in Revelation, what are their reasons for the genocide, what are our responses to the genocide and what moral lessons can we draw from our answers?

The coffins, yes they're real. I believe they are actually "coffin liners". However, the reference to guillotines is totally without documentation or identification of the mystery witness. please, there's enough scary stuff that is real and proven. let's not scare everyone unnecessarily with tripe.

What about the Internment & Resettlement manual FM 3-39.40 for example. Find out how the domestic US citizen is a candidate for "re-education" in FEMA camps. they don't need to chop your head off if they can psychologically break it, Gitmo style.
