I'll stick with King James English; that way, I won't have to put up a sign that says I WANT TO BELIEVE.
No.Not a fan of the original text(s)?
1550?
You have access to Paul's autograph, do you?
I ran this through the translator, and here's what came out:
Perhaps you could tell me if this stuff is Koine Greek or Classical Greek -- assuming it's even Greek?
The English translation of the above almost makes as much sense backward as forward.
What is 'NT Greek?'I'm an atheist, I'm no biblical scholar - although I had a classical education which means the NT is one of the best points of comparison for the differences between NT Greek and Classical Greek and the subtle and not so subtle differences.
What is 'NT Greek?'
Are you referring to Koine Greek?
(I sure hope so.)
So I wouldn't end up a theological noncognivist. Why would you have to put up a sign that says I WANT TO BELIEVE?

LOLWithout looking, tell me what "Koine" means or signifies. I'll know if you've looked it up.
The evidence presented by non-believers only goes in one direction when truth is utilized. To God alone.
LOL
The word itself, I believe, means 'common'; and it is the language of the common man.
Mark 12:37b And the common people heard him gladly.

You have no idea what a KJVO is; do you?Wasn't expecting that... or should I have, because it's you...
How interesting. I'd think you'd be interested in the originals of your holy book.
I find it interesting that this is also the best evidence AGAINST creationism, making this a prime candidate for applying Occam's Razor.
LOL

Are you kidding me, katzwork?Yeah, you googled it. Thought so.
The autographs are the books of the Bible, written by the original author in his own handwriting.
When you sign your name, it is called your signature, but it is also called your autograph, which is anything you produce in your own handwriting.
Koine Greek is the Greek of the common people, and it is the style of Greek writing that the New Testament was written in.
(Koine means "common", and the Koine are the common people.)
Mark 12:37b And the common people heard him gladly.
The King James Bible came from the Koine Greek, whereas all other translations come from the Classical Greek.
In fact, it's basic doctrine among KJVOs.There are two major documents we are taught to stay away from --- Codex Sinaiticus and Codex Vaticanus for two good reasons:
* Whenever you see a footnote say "oldest manuscript says...", or "better manuscript says...", never rely on it - ever. The common people rejected these manuscripts and refused to use them.
- These are considered the oldest. Why? Because the common people never used them. Thus they were preserved by disuse.*
- Codex Sinaiticus was found in a trash can, and Codex Vaticanus was found locked in the Vatican, well out of reach of the common people.
