What I mean by this is....can we as Christians heal and be healed through faith/prayer alone? For instance, I have been feeling as though I might have MS. Could the Lord cure that, just through prayer? I'm just curious how it all works. I feel as though I believe. But I wonder if its not enough, and that's why I'm still feeling ill.

Absolutely by his stripes we are healed. You healing has already been done have faith and receive it in Jesus name. Whatsoever you ask in Jesus name of the father you will receive. You must have faith in and through Christ, and proclaim I am healed bind the spirit of illness in Jesus name, and give him the glory through your witness. Health is a divine promise from God through Christ, but the church world loves to moan about their sickness and the devil helps all he can to give you doubt to try and lie and steal your promise and Gods glory. You are healed in Jesus name you believe you will receive. May Gods light shine upon you.

There is no limit to what can be accomplished in prayer. Also, remember that you are free to ask the Lord to strengthen your faith - He will most certainly do that. After all, no man's faith can ever be too great, or too strong.

Faith is always based on information... people talk about a blind leap of faith but according to the bible, faith is not a leap in the dark but is always based on information (the word of God)... If you don't have enough faith then go and get more information on that subject i.e. healing...

Rom. 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

If you don't hear the word concerning healing faith will never come...

Can we as Christians heal and be healed through faith/prayer alone? Yes
Could the Lord cure MS, just through prayer? Yes

Jesus accomplished the ability for our bodies to be healed at the cross. We receive it by faith in what He did. Most of us don't understand the process of faith and how to use faith.

Faith comes from hearing the word of God Romans 10:17. The word of God that we hear won't do us any good if we don't unite it with faith. Hebrews 4:2 So we are involved in the process of faith. The opportunity for faith comes to us through hearing the Word. Our actions activate the word in our life. Without our actions faith is dead. James 2:17

Faith produces assurance and confidence. Hebrews 11:1 Doubt takes away the assurance/confidence. So the fight of faith is to dispel the doubt and fear with the word of God. 1 Tim 6:12, 2 Cor 10:3-5

There are many verses on healing. I use many of these verses to dispel doubt and the temptation of doubt.

One way to defeat worry is to pray with healing verses in mind.
Phil 4:6-9
Luke 18:1f
Then worship God for the answer, even if you don't see anything yet in the physical. But continue to believe God.

Use worry as a prayer request. Pray the Scriptures asking God to make them real in your life. Confess the Scriptures stating that God is making them real in your life.

Here is a list of Scriptures on healing.

Don't continue to worry. Read and believe the Bible to wash worry from your mind.

Hello,

Great question with many answers. Does the Lord want to heal? Absolutely. No question there at all. Do you need faith and prayer? Yes. "Could the Lord cure that, just through prayer?" YES! Once in a while someone will experience a miraculous healing through the gifts of healings (where they don't necessarily need 'faith'), but that generally is not the norm.

Persistent prayer alongside of believing faith works miracles everytime. You said, "I'm just curious how it all works." That is wonderful! Time and time again in the Scriptures, the seeds of the Word were planted in people's hearts and as they grew and acted on their faith, they received healing. Seek the giver of the gift. Keep it personal.

You said, "I feel as though I believe. But I wonder if its not enough, and that's why I'm still feeling ill." I would encourage you to look good and hard at Romans 4. It speaks of Abraham and how he dealt with what he 'felt'. As long as you are looking at feelings rather than at God's promise, you will have difficulty. I don't say this to discourage, but to encourage you to study this passage diligently. Strengthen your faith, give glory to God and be fully convinced of His promise.

Abraham did not consider his own bodies' condition nor did he consider Sarah's condition. He simply trusted that God would do what He said He would do.

This is true.

What you need to do is fill yourself with the word of God concerning healing. Get some healing messages like Gloria Copeland's Healing School messages, or others like Kieth Moore.

Both websites have free downloads on about any subject you need word on.

The more word you input the "higher" your faith level will be.

Keep cramming healing word in you and think about it, read the scriptures again and again and again, meditate on them over and over and over and over.

That is how you get your faith to activate.:)

Refuse to hear or even consider a negative thought, or opinion, which even some of the people closest to you might want to fill your ears with.

Just refuse to hear it or let it enter your thinking.

James 5:
13Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms.
14Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
15And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
16Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
17Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.
18And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.

Quite frankly, what kind of a question is that ? can the Lord cure ms ?
Of course Jesus is greater than ms.

go to a doctor find out if you have ms.
understand the verses above, ask the Lord to increase your faith in His Word above.
call for the elders that have faith, and expect your healing.

Sometimes God will just heal you because someone else asks Him. Sometimes through intercession, infirmities are lifted immediately. Many times God has a journey to develop and perfect our faith which involves patience, and a lot of relationship strengthening prayer on our own part.

It would be good to study how God uses faith and patience.
Fortunately, God has sent a number of excellent teachers on the subject who underwent healing from serious physical problems.

God's lesson to Kenneth Hagin is particularly valuable because at one on his bed of sickness, he said something like: "If You were in the room right here right now and said that your problems is that you don't believe, I'd have to say you were a liar!"

Of course he didn't mean to call God a liar, he was letting God know through honest relationship prayer, that his problem wasn't believing. (We need to know God's position on healing first so we can believe.) The Holy Spirit spoke up and said: "You believe as far as you know!" This means that if we are ignorant in how to put legs on our faith, to have corresponding actions relating to what you are believing God for, then we won't necessarily receive. Many people perish for lack of revelation knowledge. We need the revelation of God's promise and provision in our heart. We also need to know how to exercise our faith to the place of actually bringing it in to manifestation. The enemy will resist you along the way, so learning God's place in this and our place is paramount to overcoming.

I would recommend reading some of Hagin's books, especially his testimony of healing. You can begin meditating on God's promises for healing and getting it into your spirit. When the light comes on, it will be because your Father in Heaven revealed this to you (just like Peter).

Having faith in the provision is not the same as exercising faith for your healing. It is a necessary first step, so getting this built up inside you is an important first step.

God does not want us to be anxious for ANYTHING, so be at peace in your journey and acknowledge God as the revelator and teacher
and just thank Him that He wants you to get healed just like all the others in the Bible did and your restoration is His will for you as His beloved daughter.

Well on that note, could all of you pray for me? I am in need of serious strength on many levels. I am emotionally damaged, mentally scarred, and physically tired. I feel like giving up. But I have a baby that needs me. I just need God to help me get well. So I have the strength to do what needs to be done.
Hi Malachi. I'm holding you and your family up in prayer.

I'm going to ask you to do this: follow this link: https://my.kcm.org/store/books/gloria-copeland/gods-will-for-your-healing

Get this book. This is important...if you can't get this right now (and even if you can) then I want you to follow this link: Real Help: Health and Healing | Kenneth Copeland Ministries and listen to it (it's about 3 hours!! of awesome teaching) and then listen to it; after that listen to it, then listen to it again. When you think you have it memorized: listen to it again and make sure. If you missed even one word, then listen to it again....

You have got to get this into your heart. You have got to get this into your spirit so that when syptoms or the devil himself try to get your attention, then you know how to respond without even thinking about it. I want you to get language like what you posted in the OP: " I have been feeling as though I might have MS" to never pass your lips again. You need to confess healing and health and a perfect body.

God loves you. We are praying for you. Be blessed!!

Hi Malachi. My wife and I are also holding you and your family up in prayers....I can't add too much to what has already been said but we can manifest a little bit of heaven while were here on earth...

Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as it is in heaven. (Matt 6:10)

Jesus continued to praise God, declaring, "Father, I know that it's Your will for things to be done on earth the way they are in heaven." In heaven, there's no sickness, Therefore, it's not God's will for you to be sick! There's no poverty in heaven. So it's not God's will for you to be poor here on earth. Also in heaven there is no sorrow, or damaged emotions or any mental scars that we carry through life. These things can drain us of our energy to where we want to give up... however, "now" as we get into the presence of the Lord, there is abundant joy, shouting, singing, praising, and worshiping...That is what heaven is like, and it's how He expects us to he here on earth!

Just finished up Andrew Wommack's book called: A Better Way To Pray, that you can get on line for a suggested donation or even free. He has several books that can be checked out. Also suggest to watch him on TV if you get any Christian broadcasting in your area. His program is called The Gospel Truth with Andrew Wommack and is shown Mon-Fri each day. You can also catch his program on-line.

Please re-read all the responses from the other posters over and over again. There is much information presented from them that can help you regain your strength spiritually and physically. Hope this helps...

Blessings...

Thank you all again! I wish I had people like you near by. I am going to try the video link later, and I just purchased the book. I am very determined to get closer to the Lord. Also I am happy I came across this forum. You all have been so nice and very helpful.
If you haven't already started: come back regularly and read the thread "Fellowship with CindyisHis" -- it is an ongoing thread that is just filled with encouragement and uplifting fellowship and wise council. I don't post there often, but I read it all the time. You will be blessed.

First, seek the Lord about the root cause of the illness. You may have to deal with some unrepented sin in your life. It is worthless to just claim the healing while leaving the door open to be attacked by the same illness again.

For example, the director of my bible college had been cast into the sick bed over and over. She used each healing as proof of her faith and the power of speaking that healing. The problem was she kept being cast back into the sick bed. She claimed it was Satan trying to destroy her testimony. The problem was she was a major Jezebel and scripture says that Jezebel will be cast into the sick bed to give an importunity to repent. She failed to take care of the root problem hence she got cast back into the sick bed over and over.

My sister-in-law was struck down with cancer. The cancer was directly against her ministry because she teaches on biblical dietary requirements and got struck down with colon cancer. It turned out she had unrepented bitterness and anger over an issue and all healing failed until she repented. She is now cancer free.

A Friend,
Harry
Sorry Harry but I have to disagree.

Rev 2:21 and I gave her time that she should repent, and she will not repent of her fornication.
22 behold, I cast her into a bed, and those that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, unless they repent of her works,

The bed referenced here is the 'sick bed'. Yeshua himself declares sickness over the unrepented sins of those claiming to follow him.

It doesn't pay to be a Jezebel within the church.
