  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The fundamental difference between Evolution and Creationism is one is a fact and the other is a belief.
Creationism has nothing going for it and Evolution has everything going for it.
There seems to be a problem when you add -ism to a word. Take Sex for example, when you add -ism then you have sexism and for most people that is a problem. Or take feminine and add -ism so you have feminism and the next thing you know they are burning their bras and we have battle of the sexes. Although when you have people like Gloria Steinem involved you can not overlook the huge entertainment value.

What is it about adding -ism to a word that makes people crazy?

It's entertaining to see them scratching themselves into a pile of epithelials, wondering if I'm lying, confused or just plain being a poe.

You're obviously "all of the above" with a little troll thrown in for good measure. ^_^

They profess to believe in a "Higher Power" or a "Power greater then ourselves".
So would you consider Carrie Underwoods song: "Jesus take the wheel", hocum?
If taken literally, yes. If taken as a piece of music, no. One of my favourite songs is Pie Jesu, but not because of its religious connotations.

Oh, please ...

As Mr. Hovind says, don't call what you believe 'science' and what we believe 'religion.'

When you guys speak of 'evolution,' you jump right to post-abiogenesis evolution -- skipping 9 billion years of cosmic evolution -- and even then, it's the macro variety of evolution you usually talk about.

I love to tell people I believe in evolution -- and at the same time say, 'evolution can take a hike.'

It's entertaining to see them scratching themselves into a pile of epithelials, wondering if I'm lying, confused or just plain being a poe.
I will give you one thing, you have a vivid imagination.

The truth is people are just not bothered what you think or what anyone thinks for that matter, they have their religion for themselves, do you worry about all of those millions of Muslims heading for hell? no of course you don't, you think that you're all fixed up with the one and only religion that's true and everyone else can take a hike, well you're dreaming.
All you have is a vivid imagination and you're easy to please.

We both take the Lord's Table, don't we?

Aren't you a Christian, too?

do you wonder if I'm lying, confused, or a poe?
No, I think your reverse psychology is brilliant. My daddy used that on me all my life but he was not as good at it as you are. I remember once he got me to paint the whole fense by telling me that he did not think I could do it or finish what I started. I just had to prove him wrong.

I think I am but if you're a Christian then I'm obviously not because you seem to stand for everything I'm against.
You have blind faith, I don't, you deny evolution, I don't, you deny reality, I don't, you're a creationist, I'm not.
You are an American type Christian and I am most definitely not, you seem to twist Christianity and somehow manage to reduce it in a way that only the stupid are able to believe it.

Perhaps you could show me from the Apostles' or Nicene Creed where only one of us is a Christian?

Especially that evolution part.

Why? so you can twist everything to suit yourself? I'll pass thank you.
That's okay -- I opened a poll on it; and I have a feeling that poll is going to disagree with mixing evolution and Christianity.

Do you really think God does not hear us?

It is patently and brutally obvious that god does not listen. Prayers are never answered, and the religious are in constant dispute as to what god really wants. Please... good singer does NOT equal evidence for god. Lame.

It could not be more clear. However, this does show that many are willingly delusional.

I have seen you here for years. you have slipped up a time or two. Long ago I saw evidence that you are a Poe. Which is why I mostly ignore you. Sometimes entertaining, but in the end a waste of time.

I am a Bible-believing Christian living in America, but I can certainly understand why you would use the term "American type Christian" to describe some members of our.......well.........uh......."special" subgroup of American Christians whose opinions and pontifications are..... ...well...... uh.......I mean.......[Let's see; How do I put this?]................ "special" people.

As much as I would wish to provide an adequate explanation (and justification) for one of America's more.....well.......uh......"special" kind of exports [e.g., the books, tapes, videos,DVDs of some of our "ministry" leaders]......well......errrrr......If it is any consolation, I guess all I can say is:

Remember that Ken Ham is an Australian!

(But seriously, we in the U.S. do sincerely apologize!)

It could not be more clear that many Christians are delusional? Did you forget that according to Dr Fraud that we are guilty of what we accuse others of. It is called projection. Although his daughter Annie did most of the work on that.

"Psychological projection or projection bias is a psychological defense mechanism where a person subconsciously denies his or her own attributes, thoughts, and emotions, which are then ascribed to the outside world, usually to other people. Thus, projection involves imagining or projecting the belief that others originate those feelings.[1]
Projection reduces anxiety by allowing the expression of the unwanted unconscious impulses or desires without letting the conscious mind recognize them.

The theory was developed by Sigmund Freud - in his letters to Wilhelm Fliess, '"Draft H" deals with projection as a mechanism of defence'[2] - and further refined by his daughter Anna Freud; for this reason, it is sometimes referred to as Freudian Projection.[3] Wiki

Guess we better get rid of the court system as there is a lot of accusation going on there and according to you, the accusers are the true guilty ones.

I am aware of projection, a trait almost universally shared by creationists with their claims of "evolution is a religion" and other tripe. Good to see your delusion motor is running full out, a predictable world is more comfortable.

You are aware that many of "Fraud"'s claims have fallen out of favor... yes?

it would be nice if you actually discussed the position, but we can only expect so much.

'Special'? How about 'world renown'?

Yes I did know that, it also tells you something about those 'Special Christians' in that they embraced him with open arms.
Apparently the 'outback' of Australia has lots of creationists, it must be something to do with the isolation.
(But seriously, we in the U.S. do sincerely apologize!)

No need to apologise, I'm a South African so I know what it means to be embarrassed by your country, I grew up with the tail end of apartheid all around me, like you with religious fundamentalism, I can see why it happened but for the life of me I can't see why it was not rejected instantly as being negative and damaging for everyone involved.
Religious fundamentalism and Apartheid are products of ignorance, education being the key, we are both living proof of that.

Some black people in SA are prepared to gamble with their lives in the hope of stealing a car they can sell.

I have seen cars like this in Johannesburg, people have them in case they are attacked driving in the townships.
I think they are illegal now but they were legal once.
