  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Is Benny hinn a false prophet ?

He predicted an economic collapse in the united states. Aside from this the only prophecy that comes to mind (that he staked his entire reputation on in 2004) was that Bush would get re-elected

I knew Bush was going to get re-elected in 2004. I didn't need God to tell me that Bush was going to be president for another 4 years and I'm sure that there were millions of others that knew as well.

So that doesn't really count as a prophecy.

What I say is true and I can't explain it away with a blanket generalisation about Hinn ministries being on the right or wrong road. I do believe I was healed while Benny talked/prayed on TV. It's incredible.

I had a massive cyst on my neck and I could hardly move my head (it was near my spine so although harmless it was most uncomfortable). Benny started to testify that a neck problem would be healed and he indicated to where my problem was. Well guess what? Bob's your uncle!!:D

Yeah...just finished reading the rest of this thread. Wow, MountainofGod, you, uh...you pulled some serious fallacious reasoning here, didn't you? Props. You'd make a great politician.

Aside from all the smokescreens and the straw-men, I feel as though I should say something to you, Pauluk. Be careful not to make false accusations. I certainly agree that Benny is not a prophet of God. But you need to watch out, because implying that Benny's prophecy comes from the devil, or other supernatural methods, is not only judgmental but also arrogant. You may not like the man; I certainly don't agree with him; but that's no reason to accuse him of what is, essentially, sorcery. At least, not without knowing for yourself.

i have read the thread , and i agree it i was a bit heavy handed on Mountain ...but in all honesty he did get many prophecies totaly incorrect i have listed them , there is only light and dark in this world God or the devil - i am sure you agree

so if they did not come from God which they could not have logicically as they were incorrect ...then my question to you is where do you think they came from ?

best

just for the record i was a big fan and i want to believe him , but when i look at the money he has and the false prophecies i have to speak up...as he is not living Christ like ...

Theres only two places it comes from, God or the Devil. So if he isn't getting them from God then obviously it leaves only one other source. Look at the "famous psychic" (cough) John Edawards. When he came out some say you can't really talk to the dead. Which is true, but if you read your bible and study many believe real psychics get their information from the Devil. It makes sense, it lures people away from God so they listen to this "amazing" person who seems to know about the dead.

Benny Hinn is hated because he is one of few people God still does awesome things through

I could care less how many people fall over at a Benny Hinn sermon.

I don't care if a pastor makes the whole church fall over. I'm not interested in that.

What I want are sound teaches, with the grace of God, that speak to my heart.

I've never got that from my exposure to Benny Hinn. Benny Hinn, if he's so great, wouldn't need all the ceremony and pomp that surrounds him.

Only God truly knows any mans heart, though he does make tons of money for himself through his ministry. I wouldnt judge, though I never watch any of the super rich ministers.

the bible says its harder to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter heaven...come on do you think if Jesus were alive today he would have a mansion like that ?

Theres nothing wrong with enjoying somethings in life. But we should be giving more then we are getting. To me this guy has WAY to much. Some may think he deserves to buy what he wants but think of it another way.

For what he paid for that mansion, he could helped MANY people. Just that tennis court alone could have paid for helping others. People forget the power of money. I don't care how amazing of a christian you are, money is POWERFUL. It does change you. Why do you think the rich are neve really happy? Because no matter what they buy it only satifies them for so long before they need something bigger and better. True happyness comes from God, not what we can buy.

He could easily live a normal house like everyone else, drive a normal car...be normal. BUt he chooses not to. We met a family who were multi-millionares. They lived in a trailer park! They owned nothing fancy. No video game systems, no fancy cars, no high tech computer. They gave away about 95% of everything they had financially their whole lives!

Its pretty much how I try to be. If something is sitting around my house that I don't really use I give it away or sell it (for savings for my wedding). When you die you can't take this stuff with you. So why bother stockpiling it all? lol

With all that said it doesn't mean Benny is not a christian. I'm sure he will go to heaven like the rest of us. But his lifestyle is not something God would aprrove of. He reminds me of that Joel Osteen and his beyod rich lifestyle. Although I can't stand Olsteen because he doens't teach correctly. He just teaches "Positive/Happy Thoughts Only". He doesn't talk about that life is not perfect and that God never said it would be. He basically twist the bible and ignores the aprts we need to hear!

Anyone we know thats lsitened to him stops talking to us because when they ask how we are and we say for example "Dad has a surgery!" they say in response "Thats so negative, I can't be around that!". >.< Olsteen I am sure will get to heaven to but I don't want to stand behind him while hes being judged, I am sure he will be there awhile. >.>

osteen does need to use more of the bible in his sermons and talk on sin ...but he is also lake woods biggest donater and does not receive a salary from them , he does not life in a mansion and has driven the same car for 9 yeas ...most off his money comes from his books ...but he really needs to tell it like it is and stop suger coating everything ...maybe its becasue he was nevr trained in theology ...but maybe its time he went fr some training

WOW thats a pretty big statement are you saying God does not use people to heal others ?
I said all of the major ones. The big time faith healers are all frauds. That doesn't mean that God never heals anyone.

While I dont agree with his statement, I do agree that healing for money is wrong.
Is there a major faith healer you think is legit? I've personally tried to contact several of them and they never have any information on any of the alleged major healings that have happened through them.

God can use people to heal others. However, is it normative for God to do so? No. Is the gift of healing still in existence? No.

So any time we see somebody claiming to have the ability to heal people, they deserve far more scrutiny, not less.

As for Hinn, he's clearly a wolf who needs to be exposed for the fraud and false teacher he is.

It's been my experience that the false teachers are more likely to use television, because they put on a very visual show, while those preachers who are preaching the Word of God rightly are more apt to be found on radio because it involves the intellect and not the emotions.

And, of course, with the advent of the internet, there is a third choice. I've found that some of the best preachers are just local preachers who have no desire to be famous and use the internet, through streaming or podcasting because it's free and they don't have to ask for money.

In any event, whether we're talking about Benny Hinn on TV, John MacArthur on the radio, or Don Green or Mike Abendroth on the internet, the local church should always come first. Para-church ministries and other preachers should only be a suppliment to the preaching and teaching we get in the local church.

really....how do you come to that conclusion ...Jesus healed many people , and said we would do greater works....why do you say the gift of healing is not in existence ?

Jesus clearly healed many - so did his disciples what has changed since then ?

By studying the scriptures.

Jesus healed many people , and said we would do greater works

Please explain what in that passage leads you to believe that Jesus is talking about physical healing.

why do you say the gift of healing is not in existence ?

Because the gift of healing was one of the "sign" gifts given to the Apostles to authenticate their ministry, not to us, and it is not needed now that we have the completed canon of scripture.

well Jesus works included healing the sick physically and spiritually , casting out demons among others ...so he must mean healing .....sickness is part of the sin we inherited when Adam sinned , it entered the world along with sin.

really can you provide some of the scriptures you studied ...since the bible clearly states by his strips we are healed also its mentioned

ohh and this

1 Corinthians 12:9

New International Version (©1984)
to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit,

its pretty clear
