  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Is Benny hinn a false prophet ?

isn't an issue of being smart or dumb, check everything everyone says against the scripture every time and you should be ok

The article in the link doesn't provide any scripture references whatsoever--but instead links to a portal where his book can be purchased. This is a common marketing tactic and it works.

There were no links to proof to substaniate the claims, no firsthand accounts, no interviews, nothing.

So for someone like me who knows pretty much nothing about Hinn, the article isn't helpful at all.

The article isn't an obvious call to action to sell something, but that is pretty much exactly what, and all, it is.

you will note that since those particular prophecies got him in trouble, he has had a spotless track record. Prophecy is a gift of the spirit, and the gifts of the spirit are not covered in leviticus.

So are you saying that there were no prophets during the OT times? This statement above is confusing.

Never said I hated him, I only stated that the opposite of true is false and he did have false prophecies.

I hate no one, I love everyone as commanded, but while loving them I don't have to like them

WOW you people are opinionated. They're ALL false prophets. ANY prophecy is a false prophecy in these times. It's all politics. It's all fearmongering. Don't buy into it.

And as for Benny Hinn: I have no idea who he is, so I'm not going to comment. I do know, however, that by "reaming out" people, as MountainofGod put it, he is inherently acting ubiblically. "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone." Nobody is sinless. There's no sense in judging others, and it's not on us to rebuke. Leave that to God and get on with life.

I don't believe prophets in the Old were operating in gifts of the spirit, the office they held was different. They were Gods prophets or judges, and they had a special authority. These offices no longer exist today, it was done after John the Baptist. In those days, God ordained the prophet and then the nation was to recognize him and put him in special authority.

So when it says false prophet, we'd be talking about something that just pertained to Israel. Someone who has authority over Israel, or to be the sole operator between us and God. We no longer need this.

Benny Hinn isn't a prophet, he's an evangelist. I don't understand how he can be called a false prophet when he doesn't really even prophesy, it's just not his ministry.

He still does it, as can every Christian.

Benny Hinn speaks against the right people for the right reasons, takes the right stand.

That's one of the biggest deflections I've ever seen.

Back to the topic at hand. Benny Hinn lives like a king on the money given to his "ministry." Have you watched the video I posted in the comment you just replied to?

I've watched the video and done extensive research on his ministry. Videos are good for easily impressionable people.

Americans :) always want things instantly

research = personal time spent doing work.

Start with his web site.

You are defending the indefensible but refusing to back yourself up.

Calling Americans names is deflection...which works well on really easily impressionable people.

You don't know whether America is my first country or not, and you know nothing about me. You're assuming.

"Extensive research" huh? Out of the two of you, I'd give the NBC segment a great deal more credibility, especially since the facts are drawn from documents of Benny Hinn's expenses, all paid with the ministry's money, and from people who worked under him and were horrified by what they'd seen.

I'd much rather ally myself with someone who spends the money where its needed than with someone who spends their nights in the most expensive hotels because they think they deserve it.

There is always more to the story, obviously if NBC is your source, you are the type of person who easily passes judgement on anyone.
