Are we to just skip the courtroom, judge and jury of peers and go right to sentencing then?

You even confessed to believing there might be a police cover up, so I have reservations about you believing anything other than what you've already decided is truth.

Personally, I prefer, and support, an internet image I saw of that campus officer pepper spraying Yoda. If there's anyone I have no sympathy for being treated that way, it's a Lucas figure. In fact, I say pepper spray Lucas.

I didn't bring up the topic of resisting arrest; I was making the case for non-violent arrest with non-violent protesters.

Civil rights era protesters = civil, nonviolent disobeyers who are met with police brutality.

Occupy protesters = civil, nonviolent disobeyers who are met with police brutality.

Now, answer the question. The two protesting groups are both nonviolent civil disobeyers breaking the law met with police brutality. THAT is the criteria used for a basis of comparison.

I guess what I'm still confused about was whether they were acting illegally or not. Some sources say it was illegal, other sources say it wasn't. It seems that from statements the chancellor made she wasn't concerned about what they were doing.

And now "Anonymous" has gotten into it, threatening violence against Mr. Pike, the now infamous cop whose arm has been photoshopped into many pictures (as we saw here).

I have to say, I watched a video where protestors followed the chancellor to her car screaming "Don't come back" and it made me throw up a little bit in my mouth. That, to me, is just ridiculous. It reminds me of my little kids when they throw a tantrum.

Are you talking about this video? They hacked the police computer and got his name and address and put it in the video. The "threat" was to make him squeal. They have never physically attacked anyone so I would assume the threat is more in terms of hacking and releasing more information on him. Maybe embarrassing information at that. I can't say I feel sorry from him. Anonymous is good peoples they wont physically attack him. They aren't thugs like some of the police officers that have been going around macing people.
