goodgoogaloogamooga, that's awesome!!!

The ENTIRE Bible weaves like a tapestry from one end to the other, and comes FULL CIRCLE in Revelation.
God's "weaving".....leaves one speechless.
Simply beautiful!
I like the way this Bible version puts it:

Bible Gateway passage: Colossians 2:2-4 - The Message

Colossians 2:
2-4 I want you woven into a tapestry of love, in touch with everything there is to know of God. Then you will have minds confident and at rest, focused on Christ, God’s great mystery.

I really know nothing about the book of Revelations. I have a strange theology about the end times that goes something like this....."who cares". LOL What I mean is that the end will come and there is nothing we can do about it, so who cares how it happens.....rapture, no rapture, pre/post trib, etc.

Ok, so what does this have to do with the book of RevelatioN? (Singular: it is ONE revelation people! That OF Jesus Christ, to St John, the Disciple that Jesus loved, and also known as the theologian.) And how many other books promise a blessing to those who read it?

Jericho is also mentioned a few times in the NT, including the book of Hebrews, along with Messengers and trumpets.

Joshua 6:4
and seven priests do bear seven trumpets of the jubilee before the ark, and on the seventh day ye compass the City seven times,
and the priests blow with the trumpets,

Matt 24:31/Hebrews 11:30/Revelation 8:6]

Hebrews 11:30
by faith the walls of Jericho did fall, having been surrounded for seven days;

Matthew 24:
31 and He shall be sending His Messengers with a great trumpet sound........
[Revelation 8:6]

Revelation 8:6
And the seven Messengers having the seven trumpets make ready themselves, that they should be trumpeting
[Joshua 6:4/Matt 24:31]

The Sound Of The Trumpet

For if the Trumpet makes an uncertain sound, who will prepare for battle?
(1 Corinthians 14:8).

The Apostle Paul used the Roman military trumpet as a metaphor for spiritual battle. First-century historian Josephus wrote that the Roman army did nothing, except by trumpet signals. He listed three specific trumpet sounds, all of which can be devotionally applied.

The first trumpet was a signal to prepare to depart. "Now when they are to go out of their camp, the trumpet gives a sound."(1) The Bible believer should be ready to depart swiftly for any field of conflict as ordered, always ready to fight the good fight of faith (1 Tim. 6:12; 2 Tim. 4:7).

The second trumpet was a signal to form up: "Then do the trumpets sound again, to order them to get ready for the march."(1) At this stage, a believer should have on the whole armor of God. The Lord wants skilled warriors, lined up with others, who will do battle against the wiles of the Devil (Eph. 6:11).

The third trumpet sound was the order to march: "Then do the trumpets give a sound a third time, that they are to go out."(1) Some have suggested that this is the equivalent of "the last trumpet" that Paul referred to in 1 Corinthians 15:52 concerning the Rapture of the church: Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed--in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed (1 Cor. 15:51-52).

This trumpet may also point to the personal resolve of a believer to march out to serve Christ, to stand against all challenges to God's kingdom, and to be willing to endure hardships like a good soldier (2 Tim. 2:3).

Josephus also noted that before the army marched out, the soldiers raised their right hands high and shouted in martial fury, "We are ready!" Are you?

Miscellaneous:
Read about the trumpet (shofar) and its use in The Holiday Of Rosh Hashanah.

The shofar - trumpet - is usually made from a rams horn.

Revelation 8 Commentary- Plagued by Trumpets

The Roman Assault on Israel Began around the Feast of Trumpets Hence the Seven Trumpets of Revelation—Thus Began the Jewish War.

In A.D. 66 while Judea was aflame in bloodshed, riot and revolt, Rome responded by sending the 12th legion in addition to thousands of auxiliaries from neighboring kingdoms. These troops, as if orchestrated by God, arrived in Jerusalem in the Jewish month of Tishri, a month that begins with the Feast of Trumpets. Called the Day of Judgment, it is on this day that trumpets sound the somber days of atonement and final judgment (Leviticus 23:24, Numbers 29:1). Thus began the Jewish War.3
The A.D. 70 Doctrine View, Interpretation, Exposition and Commentary of Revelation 8: In Every Event that Fulfills the Seven Trumpets of Revelation an Audible Trumpet Sound Was Heard.

I found this when doing a study of the trumpets in the NT

Jericho is also mentioned a few times in the NT

Did you know that the operating mechanism of a trumpet, why it works, is still unknown? IOW, it's power and beauty reveals the Glory of God! (Gotta go practice)

I have never really looked at this list the author has up on his site, but I have noticed Ezekiel [and Daniel] follows Revelation almost to a tee.
This is rather fascinating concerning that great "Supper" of God in Reve 19

Reve 19:17 And I perceived one Messenger standing in the sun, and He cries-out in great voice, saying to all the birds, the ones flying in mid-heaven, "hither! be ye being gathered! into the Supper of the great God.
18 That ye may be eating fleshes of kings......
[Deut 28:26/Ezekiel 39:118]

Ezekiel 39:17 "And thou son of adam, thus says my Lord YHVH "say thou! to bird of every wing and to all of beast of the field 'be assembled ye! and come! together ye from round about on sacrifice of Me which I sacrificing for ye, a great Sacrifice on Mountains of Israel.
And ye eat flesh and ye drink blood. 18 Flesh of the mighty ye do eat, And blood of princes of the earth ye drink,

:) reminds me of:

And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 8:11

Thank you.
Pharoah and the Egyptians tried that with the OC Hebrew Israelites and of course drowned.

However, Nebuchadnezzar seems to have a different fate:

Ezekiel 29:18-20 KJV
(18) Son of man, Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon caused his army to serve a great service against Tyrus: every head was made bald, and every shoulder was peeled: yet had he no wages, nor his army, for Tyrus, for the service that he had served against it:
(19) Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will give the land of Egypt unto Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon; and he shall take her multitude, and take her spoil, and take her prey; and it shall be the wages for his army.
(20) I have given him the land of Egypt for his labour wherewith he served against it, because they wrought for me, saith the Lord GOD.

A reference is also made to Egypt in Reve 11:8, which unlike Sodom/Gomorrah, was a country, not a city

Matthew 2:15
and He was there till the death of Herod, that it might be fulfilled that was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying, `Out of Egypt I did call My Son.'
[Reve 11:8]

Revelation 11:8
and their dead-bodies upon the broadplace of the great City, which is being called spiritually Sodom and Egypt,
where even/also the Lord of them was crucified.

The messages to the seven churches could be misunderstood if you don't understand some things though.
What things have you understood from those messages to the 7 churches?

I think there is plenty in the book of Revelation besides the OT prophecy. For instance the message to the 7 churches and the Book of Life. The book of Life has nothing to do with the OT.

You mean this book of life?
Psalm 69:28 said:
"May they be blotted out of the book of Life, and may they not be recorded with the righteous."

I just noticed this thread and started reading. I am sure that you have already been corrected in that the Book of Life is in the OT and is referenced in the OT from the Book of Enoch, which is the first eschatology book written, and that was written before the flood, by Enoch the prophet, the seventh from Adam; and Revelation is the Revealing of the Son of Man whom Enoch saw in secret, hidden, with God, and who was God, and wrote of Him as to come and in whose name the elect would be saved/redeemed -those who choose to live the elect life, says Enoch.
108 Another book which Enoch wrote for his son Methuselah and for those who will come after him, and keep the law in the last days.
2Ye who have done good shall wait for those days till an end is made of those who work evil, and an end of the might of the transgressors. 3And wait ye indeed till sin has passed away, for their names shall be blotted out of the book of life and out of the holy books, and their seed shall be destroyed for ever, and their spirits shall be slain, and they shall cry and make lamentation in a place that is a chaotic wilderness, and in the fire shall they burn; for there is no earth there.

Enoch writes of the Book of Deeds, first, also:
Enoch Reads the Heavenly Tablets
81 And he said unto me:
"Observe, Enoch, these heavenly tablets,
And read what is written thereon,
And mark every individual fact."
2And I observed the heavenly tablets, and read everything which was written thereon and understood everything, and read the book of all the deeds of mankind, and of all the children of flesh that shall be upon the earth to the remotest generations. 3And forthwith I blessed the great Lord the King of glory for ever, in that He has made all the works of the world,
And I extolled the Lord because of His patience,
And blessed Him because of the children of men.
4And after that I said:
"Blessed is the man who dies in righteousness and goodness,
Concerning whom there is no book of unrighteousness written,
And against whom no day of judgement shall be found."

Exd 32:32 Yet now, if thou wilt forgive their sin--; and if not, blot me, I pray thee, out of thy book which thou hast written.
Exd 32:33 And the LORD said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book.

Psa 69:28 Let them be blotted out of "the book of the Living =the Book of Life", and not be written with the righteous.

Judas' name was blotted out of the Book of Life, for Peter references Judas in Acts 1, and applies OT passages to him, which state that his name will be blotted out of the Book of Life and another appointed to fill his office.
