It is neat I ran across this, because lately I have been on an end times kick. I have been reading through the Left Behind series, and I am on the fifth book. I know that the story line isn't really end times material, but it does give depictions of the symbolism used in Revelation and what they may mean at the time. I also like it, because it shows a depiction of what both believers and unbelievers will go through at the time. I am soooo happy I am a Believer and will go with the Rapture if the end times is in my life span.

I also like to compare Daniel with Revelation. Daniel holds a lot of the prophecies from Revelation, and I have been going through the Bible study by Beth Moore which is helpful. I haven't quite understood all the symbolism of the "talking horn" and such until now. It is very interesting to read and study.

I watched "Tribulation" also, but it didn't seem to be "life like" as "Left Behind" is.

"And it came to pass on the morrow, that Moses said unto the people, Ye have sinned a great sin: and now I will go up unto the LORD; peradventure I shall make an atonement for your sin. (Exodus 32:31) And Moses returned unto the LORD, and said, Oh, this people have sinned a great sin, and have made them gods of gold. Yet now, if thou wilt forgive their sin--; and if not, blot me, I pray thee, out of thy book which thou hast written. And the LORD said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book."

Interesting choice for a username, btw

Thanks, it is a good username, i like it.

It sounds like Moses is requesting that God forgive the Jews, sounds like Moses laid down his life for his friends. Where did i hear that before?

Joh 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends :)

Uh Oh. Maybe im stretching that scripture a bit? Maybe not?

Not at all, IMHO. This is the primary sense in which Jesus is "a Prophet like unto" Moses, as I see it. I also see this as being synonymous with being the mediator between God and man, (Jesus in full, Moses by handing over the law) which is the more traditional way of looking at this connection.

:wave: Nothing wrong with using our imagination, and on a subject like this it's much less problematic than just about anything else we could think about, which seems to be about opposite from the popular opinion within the Church. I just encourage you to keep your mind open to another whole world of understanding Scripture, which understands these things very very differently from what you've briefly espoused here.

Ultimately what we think about such things isn't Salvific in the least, and Jesus will go about His Father's business Faithfully anyway. I do suspect that we will ALL be surprised before He's done!

Bottom line: "look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh." (Luke 21:28)

I think that many forget the meaning of the symbol "horn" as given in Daniel 8, which definition appleis =1) the great horn 2) four horns and 3) little horn...all being horns=

Dan 8:21 And the rough goat is the king(SAME AS KINGDOM/EMPIRE) of Grecia: and the great horn that is between his eyes is the first king(THE EMPIRE).

THIS IS CONFIRMED IN THE FOLLOWING VERSE WHICH EXPLAINS THE SYMBOLS, DEFINING THE WORD " HORN" AS MEANING KINGDOM=

Dan 8:22 Now that(THE GREAT HORN) being broken, whereas four(HORNS) stood up for it(THE GREAT HORN), ***four kingdoms**** shall stand up out of the nation(GREAT HORN), but not in his power.

It is evident than in Daniel 8, the great Horn is equate with the Empire, while its division into 4 kingdoms (Northern, Southern, Eastern and Western Kingdoms) is represented by the 4 horns that followed....

Then when the next horn appears...the Little Horn....then we know that this is
a smal kingdom, which grows exceedingly great....(much more than the previous kingdoms of MedoPersia as great, and Greece and very great, as the prophecy itself tells us).....Within that context only Rome as the Empire/little.horn was bigger than the Greek or MedoPersian empires. This is also represented in Revelation where the Little Horn is identified as "the Beast".....which is also defined as kingdom

Dan 7:23 Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom

Since the beast is the same thing as the little Horn, it follows that the beast being defined as a kingdom or empire...tells us that the little horn symbol is also a symbo of the same empire or kingdom
beast= kingdom
beast= horn
beast= horn= kingdom

It is then unsafe to say that the little horn is a single individual, in fact the symbol
represents a nation...This is told in Daniel 11:3=

Refering to Greece, the one that broke, the great horn is define as the kingdom, which was the one that broke (the horn represents the kingdom, and when speaking of the king, is refering to the kingdom)

Dan 11:3 And a mighty king shall stand up, that shall rule with great dominion, and do according to his will.
Dan 11:4 And when he shall stand up, ^^^^^his kingdom shall be broken*****,

the little horn is the kingdom, identified as the Roman Empire in Daniel 8, in Daniel 7 and Rev. 23 refering to the Papa Rome phase....
Papa Rome is the same thing as the Rome Empire, its continuation, because the Roman Empire gave her his fish crown, Roman throne, and much authority suchas his title of Persecutor of Heretics....Papal Rome is the later phase of the Roman Empire, during its divided phase...

no single man symboizes the little horn, that is a misunderstanding of the biblical text..as define in the same vision as shown above....4 horns= 4 kingdoms...therefore
a little horn = 1 little kingdom....which grew
God bess,
brunie

I really know nothing about the book of Revelations. I have a strange theology about the end times that goes something like this....."who cares". LOL What I mean is that the end will come and there is nothing we can do about it, so who cares how it happens.....rapture, no rapture, pre/post trib, etc. There is nothing we can do about it....what matters is that if we are going to Heaven or not. :)

Jesus warned to his disciples to be on guard so they won't be deceived. We know that the Antichrist and Satan himself will appear as an angel of light before the Second Coming of Jesus. That is one BIG reason you study the prophetic books of the Bible.

The way it appears to me, they are singing the song of both in Revelation.

Song of Moses

Reve 15:3 And they are singing the Song of Moses, the bond-servant of the God and the Song of the Lamb saying "great and marvelous the works of Thee Lord! the God, the Almighty.
Just and true the ways of Thee, the King of the saints" [*ages/*nations].
[Exodus 15]

.
Do you think that is because in the end the grand rescue will be the same? Grand miracles, and plagues, to free God's people from the grip of spiritual Egypt?

Psssttttt...the "pre-tribulation rapture" nonsense being right at the top of the list.

By golly yes. We gotta steep ourselves in the Old Testament to see the beautiful tapestry the entire Bible is and yes, we cannot understand fully Revelations or the New Testament without delving into that beautiful tapestry called the Old TEstament, and how, like two beautiful tapestries coming together, its weavings fit exquisitely with the New Testament, as the entire story unfolds, just like a writing on the wall that was hidden till both pieces came together as one glorious message of epic, eternal proportions.

How about the "tree of the life" mentioned in Reve 2:7 :angel:

Gen 3:24
yea, He casteth out the man, and causeth to dwell at the east of the garden of Eden the cherubs and the flame of the sword which is turning itself round to guard the way of the tree of life.

Rev 2:
1 To the messenger of the Ephesian assembly write:
7 He who is having an ear -- let him hear what the Spirit saith to the assemblies:
To him who is overcoming -- I will give to him to eat of the tree of life that is in the midst of the paradise of God.
