CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

So I took my first dozen or so pictures with a film SLR camera yesterday. I think we'll be introduced to the dark room this coming week. Can't wait to see how they come out.
I kind of cheated though, because I don't know if the light meter on the camera works. So, I took test pictures with my digital camera to get my settings.

That's not cheating Photini - that's being sensible
And in other news, I can finally run a full mile without stopping. At the beginning of the summer I couldn't even run one full minute, but now I can run a whole mile. It took me 11 minutes and a few seconds... so I'm no speed demon, but hot dang, I've never run a whole mile in my life, so I'm stoked.
Next goal: 1.5 miles.

I used to hate running when I was younger. I was really resistant to the idea of taking it up too. But once I really got out there and ran, it just felt so great compared to sitting on my rear day in and day out.

Thanks! My goal is to be able to run the whole 5K by March. I'm hoping to reach that goal sooner though. I'm running 3-4 times a week and lifting weights twice a week. Hopefully I can keep that up through the winter.
