If you fry up some bacon, some onion and some garlic in a little butter, add the kale and cook it down and then throw in some cream and parmigiano reggiano, it is quite lovely.

Somehow I think that this might add a few more calories to it than I would like. ;)

Make spinach instead

I've been eating lots of spinach too lately. I love just a plain ol' spinach salad with tomatoes and a small squirt of honey mustard. :yum:

Sitting on the couch is good too....after running. :p

Indeed!

I'm reading Running for Mortals right now. I've been trying to do the C25K plan, but I think I'm going to start doing one of the programs out of this book instead. It seems to build up a little slower from week to week, which is what I really need. Undoing 15 years of sitting around isn't going to happen very quickly. And most of those years were spent smoking too.

I did C25K a few years ago and it was awesome. I lost 68 lbs and I felt great. Sadly I gained it all back (plus some) when I stopped.

I haven't weighed myself lately, but my husband says I'm starting to look thinner. I did notice that my freshly washed pair of jeans didn't cause quite as big a muffin top as they have been. That's encouraging. :) I am determined to NOT end up with my mother's body.

Someone pass me the webbed feet wellies and water wings please ?

I'll get down from this cupboard once I've got them on .

I'm scared of going underwater .

Got a new [ well to me ] little lens I can't even get on my camera - neither the lens nor the camera are weather proofed and actually I would need both that would go safely down to about 50 metres at present :(

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAH I'm fed up with this so-called summer

:tantrum: :waaah:

What is C25K?

It's a 9-week program to help you start running. It starts out with short increments of running mixed with power-walking, then gradually increases until you can run for 30 minutes without stopping.

Couch to 5k - C25K Running Program

I got stuck between Week 3 & 4. The increment just seems like too big of a jump for me. I found a different program that progresses a little more slowly, so I think I'll go with that. Better to build up super slow and stay injury-free than to go too fast & get hurt.
