That right wasn't trampled on. If the contractor is getting other people who will work, so what. These workers chose not to do the job, so how is their rights being trampled on.
and their right not to have their own money withheld from them without due process, and their right to equal protection under the law.
Unemployment is for people who can't find work and are actively seeking employment; these people had a job and chose to quit the job. They weren't fired, they decided to quit. Why should I have to pay for their decision to quit?
Except that we're not talking about the Army. Contracts are generally made with contractors (hence the name), and companies, not with individual workers.
Semantics. You get hired to do a job and you refuse to do that job, you don't get paid.
