Ah yes, holy huddles for the win...not.

"We're right, aren't we? We're so right?"

"Well, actually y.."

"YES WE ARE, WE ARE TOTALLY RIGHT"

The worse is this one http://www.christianforums.com/t7409940/ in the baptist forum

person 1: *posts typical propaganda video*

person 2: Wow he's so cool, he debates atheists and eats their lunch

*insert group self-congratulation on not being sucked in to the evilutionist lies*

Person 3: ummm guys, actually, no offense, but I think he might be wrong

*insert long, exhaustive interpretation of the Hebrew text and explains the videos fallacies*

Person 2: ZOMG liberal. There are liberal forums we shouldn't be browbeaten in the baptist room

Person 4: *quotes the above post calling person 3 a liberal* "Amen, preach it brother!"

Person 6: You can't be a Christian and a theistic evolutionist

Person 2: Oh my god you disagree with God's word. how do you live with yourself.

Person 3: Um, I use my concordance

Person 7: YEC is scientifically sound.

Person 8: excuse me person 7... but your wrong.

Person 7: Lies! There are a lot of scientists who are YEC

Person 2: *rage*
Again, the liberal forums are elsewhere. I will now permanently disengage this thread and let others speak for MOST of the theologians and young earth creationists in near absolute terms.

Person 3: Um, ok, but could you answer this one question for me please?

Pereson 9:
I can't believe you are treating PrincetonGuy with such contempt for merely disagreeing with you. This xenophobic treatment of people with a different point of view than yours is repulsive.

The fact is that your particular belief completely rejects contemporary science in order to prove your viewpoint of the Bible. Infact, your belief actually creates a new science based on proving the result that you want. Then, if someone doesn't agree with you, you can label them a liberal. This is ridiculous.

Christians job on earth is not to relate Genesis to science, or science to Genesis, but to live for Christ.

*Insert debate over Sola scriptura, the original meaning of words in Hebrew, science, and doctrine between person 8 and person 6.*

Ends with the best part of the thread

Person 6:
I have no patience for anyone who does gymnastics with Scriptures so that the reprobate scientist, apostate, liberal mind can be placated. Say hello to my ignore list.

Charming.

Person 8 in response:
“If you can’t prove that the guy is wrong, assassinate his character so that no one will believe him.” Thomas Miller

*threads kind of dies out after that.*

Oh, I knew I shouldn't have seen what I got when I searched for Evolution in the Christian Communities forums http://www.christianforums.com/t7420021/
:sigh:
I think we might be too harsh on new comers.
I mean, I know we've heard the arguments a thousand times and it gets frustrating having to repeat ourselves over an over again to deaf ears.
But we come at them with the same force that we use to spar the longer time members and they really can't take it, in the short time that I've been here I can think of more than a few creationists that have come onto these forums and promptly left.
We'll never get any new toys to play with this way.:234:

You are not far from the truth.

John 1:1-3
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being.

Is this your god?

Actually considering everything evolutionists attribute to "Natural Selection" do you consider that your god as well?

Worshipping a book written by men is called Idolatry. If you want to admit to doing this, then that is fine by me. No, I do not worship On the Origin of Species. In fact, I will go on record as saying that On the Origin of Species is flawed and wrong in some instances. Will you say that about your idol, the Bible?

A lot of people claim that nobody wins with these crevo threads, but they're wrong.
Everyone wins.

Just read that thread, all you need to do is make a few posts saying how you don't know anything about the topic and how mean everyone is and you can declare a moral victory and act like you've just faced the lion's den.

Of course, on the other side of the fence some of us might have done a bit of reading and maybe learned a thing or two, plus we stood up for science and earned a moral victory.

Your probably right.... but if you look, there's quite a few gems here on CF that have yet to drop by.

Ardi [Ardipithecus ramidus] is the same nonsense, the usual from the God hating idolaters/scientists. So now we didnt evolve from monkeys but from a common lineage ? Nothing more than the new thing on the block by the same depraved minds.

We came from a common lineage alright, God, our Creator. God created Adam and Eve whole, adult, humans... not beasts, and created the earth wholly grown and aged (millions of years old ?), less than 7000 years ago.

Well, you have to remember that on the Creationist side of the fence, many of them are not fighting for truth, but for image.

If they accomplish anything, they're heroes.
If they go down in flames, they're martyrs.

So, you admit to worshipping a book? If so, I find your honesty refreshing.

Mark 13:24
Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.

2 Timothy 3:16
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

Romans 10:17
So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

And earlier in the Chapter it says:

Romans 10:8-11
But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

Now in light of these verses one can clearly see the uniqueness and important differences between us and apes. For if faith comes by hearing the Word, that leaves the apes out, wouldn't you say?

Your forgetting that Split Rock is an atheist. ;)

Split Rock doesn't care. You have to convert Split Rock and then you can try appealing to the authority of your interpretation of the Bible. Your mixing the order up. ;)

Considering that there is no species of ape that is deaf, then I'd say they're not ruled out at all.

And btw, "Word" refers to Christ -- "word" is the Bible. let's not make the idolatry any more obvious than it already is, mmmkay?

You liked the last one so much, I thought I would be kind and share another one with you:

"…I am quite conscious that my speculations run beyond the bounds of true science…. It is a mere rag of an hypothesis with as many flaws & holes as sound parts." Charles Darwin to Asa Gray, cited by Adrian Desmond and James Moore, Darwin, (New York: W.W. Norton and Company, 1991) pp. 456, 475.

I've got to give the guy some credit for partial honesty at least on this one occasion. = 1 Point. I would have given him 2 points for honesty if he had admitted that the theory of evolution doesn't resemble science at all.

You seem to have missed the part about Darwin being 150 years dead, and science having advanced since he wrote that letter. Try again, kid.

You've already tried this fallacy, you should try another one from the Creationist repertoire just for variety, at least.

You consider yourself an expert on God's Word? I will be the first to admit that I fall short of living by every Word from the mouth of God, but I am a work in progress as it states in Philippians 1:6. By the way Apes are dying without hearing God's Word. If you feel so inclined and know God's Word (will) shouldn't you get busy? Not to be sarcastic but water baptism usually follows conversion. Bring a camera would ya, I am sure it would be popular on You Tube. Of course you know how foolish this sounds? Can you spot the difference yet? The uniqueness of us over apes?

Matthew 4:4
But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
