My only complaint (and it maddens me like hell fire) is overkill in the warnings department. Yes there must needs be a system in place. And there are exceptionally great mods here. But there are some... who need to be told to keep their pistol unloaded with one bullet in their top pocket.
Cool down periods, closing threads, editing posts, having authors edit posts, these seem like logical steps to take before firing a warning shot into a member's record. At stake is the stymieing of truth, the word of God, and its defense... for the sake of an ego, or of some misplaced sense of fair play for unbelievers of all varieties. To that last point I echo Pauler's point "unhappy here you are welcome to leave..." if it's biased here towards Christianity... go just about anywhere else to find the opposite. Just let us have our space here.
Thank you.

Hello Paul,
I think you will have a greater likelihood of seeing your vision become a reality if the top leadership is rotated out and fresh leaders are rotated in. I also believe it will be necessary for you to monitor leadership to insure they are embodying the key points of your vision and reflecting it in their actions.
In order to be fair, wouldn't it be better if hiring is based on merit, hiring from within whenever possible, and not cronyism.
The current leadership has worked hard but the vast majority of leaders in every organization are replaced, transferred, or assigned to other areas to prevent rigid thinking, entrenched attitudes, and tunnelvision. It is unfortunate that during the course of the current leadership's reign, a significant number of staff have quit, others have been fired, large numbers of members have left, and the forum is at one of it's lowest point's since it's inception.
Of course, when a mantra of "if you don't like it here, then leave," is heard fairly regularly, that doesn't really reflect what you want to accomplish with your vision, nor do many other unusual managerial practices I have seen here since I've been a member and on staff such as people reacting with condescending, nasty, holier than thou attitudes toward others on the forum.
I hope that Christ's love will be reflected in the actions of both staff and members. I also hope that the "real problems" on this board are addressed and corrected. God bless everyone.
Good luck.
i try to think of CF as church
i want CF to be a place where Christians have a place to discuss the things of Christ
As pertaining to those that dont know Christ:
i want those that are not believers to be able to interact amicably with believers on the board. i would hope that the believers on CF would welcome non-believers with open loving arms and for the believers to show them the light of Christ in their interactions with them in speech and attitude.
however, let's say CF was a ford mustang forum. if someone really loved chevy camaros, and started to say how camaros were better than ford and fords suck and constantly caused trouble with other members, they are not here to be friends nor are they here to find out more about ford mustangs...hence they would no longer be welcome on the boards. i think you all get the picture.
Thanks for sharing Pauler...
IMHO a key ingredient to improve this forum is an actual method to hold Mod's accountable for their actions
I think he's on holiday, I'm sure he'll reply when he returns![]()
So, was it an actual "vision"? Did it seem liek someone was speaking to you in the room? Or was it more of a dream? Or jsut a thought that you thought up?
What do you think about the "new" commandment to love others as *Christ loves us*? Isn't that even more stringent that the golden rule? ANd how would we implement that here?
What about those who want to have a "personal relationship" with Christ but are having a difficult time achieving that? Would they be welcome to talk about him?
How does one "worship" Christ on an internet forum?
I am very glad to read this.
May I ask what your reaction would be to a 'ford lover' who was persistently rude and unpleasant to someone who happened to mention that they didn't feel the same way?
Because, whilst it is true that some non-Christians do come here purely to cause trouble and push their own beliefs, I have seen a lot more unkindness from Christians towards those who don't share our beliefs... and I find that very sad.
Do you have any plans to do anything about this problem?
I know how to make it work. It would require eliminating elitism and encouraging respect.
Even worse would be the unkindness from one segment of self-professed Christians (who, by their own repeated testimonies, not making a judgment here, believe themselves the only "real" ones), toward other Christians whose faith focuses more on Christ's love and His exhortations to love ALL without reservation, bias or favorites. You can pretty much cut with a knife the division down the middle between those who imagine living Christlike lives to be a matter of following tons and tons of all the "right" rules about "everything" and cheerleading all the "right" social and political causes, versus those who know it has to do with how we treat one another -- and the first group treats the second group REALLY REALLY shabby here. Sorry to say it but everyone can see it. Deplorable. and sorry to break it to you but it has been WAY too late for a VERY long time for wishing "may it never be said that someone, whether christian or not, did not find gracious love here on CF at some point". Plenty haven't -- but they have all been driven off or silenced. How convenient for those wanting to maintain an illusory appearance to the contrary.
I vote for that.YouTube - Barney Fife - Nip It

i dont think it is ever too late, and i dont think it is too late for CF.
I told a true story... and just because it is not politically correct for today's sensitive ears.. I got a warning. Should politically correct be the guidelines for our moderators?
I vote for that.
I question the wisdom of having children as moderators.
I think this unfairly demeaning. I have been extremely impressed with many of our young moderators.
it is like church in that it is gathering of mostly believers. it is not like a church in the fact that the leadership is not primarily here to be pastoral
It isn't any moderator in particular it's these rules & regulationsI told a true story... and just because it is not politically correct for today's sensitive ears.. I got a warning. Should politically correct be the guidelines for our moderators?
