• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Yes there are, and women as well. But I'd like to know who some of these men are...? I know it's not me, but just curious. : )

Stan, I feel as though I don't know enough about you to make any kind of statement of interest (at least in the sense that this thread-topic eludes to). I'm sorry! :sigh:

I don't have a problem with naming names because my comment does not have any sort of romantic or "crush-esque" context. It's very a general and boring, but complimentary statement. :)

Hehe, stan. Fishing eh? Or don't you read the posts by other men here enough to determine for yourself the answer to your own question?

Sure, but I like to see if they see what I see. And I like fishing. : )

Bitnd, you're the first person to try and say something about my personality on this Forum....just by saying "wisecracks". I think I'm generally invisible on here. : )

You're definitely not invisible, stan. :) Not only do you make wisecracks and pick on me ever so slightly :)P) but you also gripe with me about school, papers and finals. How could I miss that?

By the way, speaking of school, I took a 200-question final today with only an hour and a half of sleep. Argh!

200 questions???? That's a little toooo much. How long did they give you to take it? I don't like finals, because we had to prove if we know the subject with all the zillion tests that they gave us prior to it. Finals are nothing but mind/brain torture. I'm soo glad I'm done with it. How many more you have left? Hope you did well on today's.

200? Sorry, typo on my part. It was only 100. I counted 6 questions that I wasn't entirely sure about and 2 that were flat out wrong; not horrible. It was Sociology. John Locke, Robin Williams, the attachment theory, stages of development, race and ethnicity, Maslow's hierarchy of needs, blah, blah, blah. By the time the teacher made some announcements and stuff we had maybe an hour or a little more. Bleck. I have government, business, forensics and writing and comp finals left. And thanks! I think I did alright. Er, I hope. :p

That's still a LOT of questions. But I'm comparing them to my Physics & Chemistry, I think people would literally pass out in their chairs if that were the case. Well, it seems like you're taking a lot of classes, and an interesting mix of them. From Sociology to Forensics to Business...now that's diversity. : )

You know, I'm not even upset about the fact that he fell through, I'm upset because I didn't see that he was like that. I'm glad that I now have something to confirm my weird feelings, at least.

Back to the Bat Cave or/and single obscurity. :)

Edit: Not upset about his loss, just upset that I wasted my time on him. (Yeah, all of a few days total, but still) He really was a jerk.

This is why I don't date men that I don't know. I don't believe in wasting time, emotion, money, etc...on someone that could turn out to be a total jerk. People love to make fun of me for saying "I don't date someone that I don't know well enough to be able to say I want/don't want to date him", but this is my point laid out for all to see :)

And Bit, I'm sorry you had to go through that. I would've been angry and mortified, and probably would've walked out on him while giving him a juicy piece of my mind.

I usually feel the same way, Ink. I catch a lot of flak for not being "social" enough and "getting out there" but I typically don't care because I understand my own reasoning and it works for me. With this guy my thought process was, "Well, okay. We have mutual friends. I liked what he had to say at the Bible study." (he was giving me feedback and agreeing with what I was saying so I thought that we fell along the same lines Biblically. Our first conversation at the Bible study just wasn't chit chat, there was some depth and thought to it.) And after the first date I thought, "He seems like he's got his head on straight. He's a gentleman. His family's important to him. He's in a service-oriented profession. (or, he will be. I think that says a lot about a person's character most of the time.)"

When he was agreeing about Biblical stuff, I was more comfortable with taking a greater chance that I usually would. I figured that if nothing else, we'd have a good conversation about something, say, from the New Testament, enjoy our coffee/smoothies and split. And believe me, I just didn't sit there and take his crap. When I starting talking back, that's when I got the "if we were married" comment. Good Lord, he was so flipping rude. I felt so bad that I apologized to the women at the counter (the couple who own the place) for bringing such a loser into their business and subjecting their other customers to that. Goooooood ridence. I shoulda known better.

Oh, and another thing. I told him that I didn't have a ride home and he left anyway. I walked a few miles. It was just grand.

He left you stranded, too??? Ugh!!! Give me his number so I can track him down.

You're very mature for being 18 years old, so go easy on yourself. When I was 18 I was dating any piece of trash that moved and breathed.
