And the one before him, egged on by the false prophets of the neocon right claim Christ told him to kill Muslims.
no, just TERRORISTS who are plotting to wipe out Americans & Jews.

Worse, the abortion, adultery, divorce, drug use, and other vices of this world are no different among Republicans as they are among Democrats. God has more disadin for those who claim to be his while being more like the world than the world is.
The GOP is just that.
The GOP don't claim to all be Christian either - and 1 president isn't
goint to change all the legislation by himself.
Bush DID do good conservative things - more than the democrats
ever did.

They are not the same - Obama in office is proving that right now.

Why would I pray for someone to be killed?

And I'm NOT being disingenuous and I find it offensive that you're
arguing w/ me when I'm telling you I mean no such thing.

That wink is meant to go along with the extended periods
in that sentence.
I pray..............................
..........................................................................

that he's removed
;)

(one would normally expect us to pray FOR them, I would
pray he's taken out of office.)
does that make any sense to you?

I apologize for misjudging you.

But, your praying for Obama's removal strikes me wrong anyhow. Paul didn't urge us to pray that our leaders were removed. He told us to pray FOR our leaders. And, the leader he was under at the time (Nero) was far worse than anything Obama could do.
So, I urge you to pray FOR our God-appointed leader instead of trying to get God to do something that He evidently chose not to do. (Hint: If you have a problem with that, remember that it was Jesus who said that God appointed our leaders, whether we like them or not.)

:swoon:

At the moment, he's lucky I can even pray for his removal -

yes I know God appoints our leaders and that's why I'm praying
that God UNappoint him and soon - before this country is
flushed completely.
If this is his record in less than 100 days, what will the nation
look like in 4 yrs? & who can afford it?
I'm glad we have a flag, we may not recognize America in a year
or 2.

I'm hoping I'm wrong, but the level of power and FORCE he exudes
is absolutely dictatoral and I find it evil since I know his agenda.

So at the moment, when I see what I see, all I can do is pray
God remove him or change ME.
It's times like this that I wish I was blind as a bat so I could
just enjoy life like the rest of the ostriches.

ps thanks for hearing out my explanation of removal.

If you are terrified, that is your problem. Anyone who believes we need to invade nations and impose western godlessness upon them, then you have no faith. Iraq was no terrorist threat. Nor were the Taliban. All Bush did was play the role of evil invader. The fact thaty he claims Christ told him to invade other nations and impose democracy upon them reviels him as a fake christian

I pray ...................... God removes him :prayer: ;)

If not, then I know God has a purpose to use him prophetically.

Reminds me of Fiddler on the Roof, when the scholar asks the Rabbi if there is a proper blessing for the reviled Tsar. The Rabbi thinks a moment, then raises his hands in prayer, "May God bless and keep the Tsar... far away from us!"

It's my hope that this was a quick wake up call - a temporary one.

God will have to work the rest into me by His power.
(and that HAS been what I literally pray for)

We're not idiots, Nadiine.

I have a cousin who was a militia man. I got to hear him ramble on in public about his views and plans. I also reviewed the transcripts of the FBI recordings of his conversations with his fellow members of the Washington militia and noted how the private conversations had the same meaning as the public pronouncements, but were worded differently. I know far too well the way people attempt to disguise their public pronouncements.

It's called democracy, ma'am. Strange--the guy you opposed in the election won and he does things you don't like. What you are tasting is defeat, not tyranny. It's supposed to taste like a fecal burrito.

CaDan, to be fair to Nadiine, you need to look at it from her perspective.

When Bush got elected and then re-elected, I did a lot of praying. It was my opinion that he was taking us down the path towards the rise of the antichrist. While I didn't pray for his removal, I sure did believe (and still do to a certain extent) that he was doing the devil's work. It's pretty distressing to have to stand by and watch your leaders serve the devil.

I don't agree with Nadiine's assessment of Obama, but I can feel her pain. It's not just defeat she's feeling. It is a much more painful thing.

My call to her was a reminder of our Christian duty to our leaders, whether we like them or not. She very humbly admitted her feelings and her private prayers on the matter. I respect that.

I think you don't grasp the situation in full.

The ONLY options I had against Bush in 2 elections
were Al Gore & John Kerry.

I don't care what evils Bush was doing when I know that
either of the 2 opponents would have been even WORSE
than he could have ever been.

Republicans only had Bush as their choice - Kerry told us
openly that he'd work to have us pay for women's abortions
if they couldn't afford them.
And did you see his loud-mouth wife? Dear God. I have a big
yapper, and she was just obnoxious.
The 2nd term was no option but Bush.

So before you cast your stonage over there, remember the
selections at election time in 2 terms for a republican.
Bush did do some good things I'm pleased with, and I wasn't
pleased with other things AT ALL - in fact my husband was
very upset in the last 2 yrs of his term.

And I appreciate Belinda's comments about this becuz it
does sum up the feelings - this man is SCARY w/ the way
he's doing things and changing his mind midstream &
clubbing people over the head after he reassures them he
wont' do something.

Where to begin...........
Right now people aren't hit with the $$ changes that are
coming - but they will be and when they are maybe then
they'll withold the palm branches.
Here in Calif. we're already hit hard enough

what are you babbling about?

*k, back now, as I reread this & thought summore, are you saying
I meant that I prayed God would kill the man?

If that's what you think, then think it - you have me confused w/
someone who gives a flying chip what you think about me.
Trust that.
Obviously Synger knows what I meant and has a direct example
of it which I had never heard of before.

In all frankness, if you thought well of me, I'd worry
about myself.

Now you know why I've said that it could very well be a
judgment from God that we are not even getting good
leadership options.

I didn't like McCain AT ALL - but what choice did I have AGAIN?

I wanted Fred Thompson or I'd even take Mit Romney or
Rudy Gulliani (who unfortunately was more socially moderate/liberal).
Huckaby's voting record looked like a liberal's voting record
and I didn't trust him -
Nobody knows how we got McCain - any republicans I talked to
didn't like him. :|

Anyhoo, what can you do? Again lesser of evils to choose from.

Oy, I didn't want to start a Bush/Obama fight. Just explaining that you feel the same way now as I did in the last two terms.
Alot of us weren't "happy", we were just happier that we at least
didn't have a raging liberal in office knowing it could be alot worse.

Define happy.

But I do admit that I did LIKE some of what he was doing. I think
he just fell apart on the last 2-3 yrs and went off into some
wierd direction and we kinda didn't know what he was doing.

I think we'v got a good system.. a lot of people hate the Royals.. but i say.. 'who would you put in their place?' I think all anyone can do is go with their convictions and only vote for someone worthy of that vote.. if enough people did not vote for these people.. then there might be some change.. eventually.. i dont believe in tactical voting.. the Labour and Tories are not worthy of my vote, so they arn't getting it.

Out of interest... how would you suggest things could have been "worse" during the Bush II administration? Understand I ask this as a former Bush supporter and life long conservative, but for me personally, the current revelations about the torture of suspects is the final nail in the coffin regarding any appreciation of that particular presidency. I am more than happy to conceed that Cheyney (sp?) was probably the driving force behind a lot of the bad stuff, but still, you know where the buck stopped and who has to accept final responsibility, right?
