  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Well obviously sex isn't about procreation for gays. It's about self-pleasure. It serves no other purpose, ever. With heteros, it does serve another purpose - that of procreation.
Except when the people in question are infertile, or elderly, or using contraception.

But marriage isn't just about sex. Marriage in our culture is mainly about love. And if two adults love one another, I see no reason to deny them access to legal marriage. And it is unconstitutional to deny them rights based solely on religious belief.

They also agree that homos can't produce children on their own. No homosexual couple can have sex and produce a baby, ever. Anatomically, all you have to do is look at the woman body and man body and tell how they fit together perfectly, as if THEY WERE MADE THAT WAY!! Not so for a 2 men's bodies or 2 women's bodies.

Also, to go along with this, why did God make sex an act that felt so good that he knew people would abuse it? If it were just a pleasant feeling, or something neutral, we would more than likely continue to procreate, because we like having children, but the whole lust thing would be thrown out the window. The entirety of sex sin could have been eliminated with one small "design change".

Why is it harder for women to achieve [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse] then men in normal sexual activity? That seems like women were slighted in that design.

These design flaws really suck for a perfect creation.

And for many heterosexuals including me it is only for pleasure.

Why not a 13 year old and a 30 year old? Is it simply because of legal reasons? If we lowered the consent age to 13, would you think it was then okay for the 13 and the 30 year old to have sex if they both consented?
And you have already had answers to these questions in the past, haven't you? Maybe I'm confusing you with another poster. A 13 yr-old is not capable of consent. Why? Because her brain is not fully developed and since it is not fully developed, it is not capable of reasoning to give consent as a 30 yr-old can.

Again, marriage is not about sex. Any one can have sex and not be married.

Sex is a blessing given from God to a man and his wife. He was gracious enough to give us such a pleasurable experience to share.

You're obviously not understanding the post you are responding to. I was talking about OT scripture that is used to argue against homosexual marriage.

I was responding to this, which you said.

That is what it's about. Every time I've seen OT scripture posted it was about sex. It wasn't about love, it wasn't about relationships. It's not about building lives together. The crux is sex and no person has any business inquiring about a person's sex life. Call me old fashioned.
I was pointing out that no, it's not really about sex.

Yea, I know some of you need to witness, however annoying I find it to be. I have no idea if your heart is in the right place. I can only say that monothesism is not for me. I disagree with the bible on many counts. I disagree with religion in general. If you find peace in it, more power to you.
Then why on earth are you here? Seriously, aside from wanting to argue and disagree what would possess you to come and hang out somewhere you KNOW you're going to have to hear what you disagree with?

Amazing then that many couples have horrible sex lives and it is generally the couples that learned the least about it prior to marriage.

But homosexual sex can never be used for anything other than pleasure. Hetero sex actually has a practical application.
Not for me or my gf or many other couples I know, many of the married couples I know have aborted the child when she has gotten pregnant and that is most likely what we will also do.

Again, I'm telling you that I was referencing OT scriptures to argue against same sex marriage. Now, if you have scripture to argue against this marriage that doesn't involve sex, than I'd like to see it.

Aside nothing. That's exactly why I'm here. I'm a member of forums to argue. Nothing more. Some people watch tv. Others play video games. I argue on the net.

You didn't explain why it was harder for women to achieve [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse] when, generally speaking, the guy always does. Was this a blessing for the guy and a method of frustration for the woman?

Or is the answer "We don't know God's plan" going to be put here?

I don't know why some women can't achieve it, but it is possible. It could be a punishment for the original sin of Eve eating the forbidden fruit.

And they really do not want to hear that it is far easier stimulated with body parts that are not down "there".

Try telling a lesbian couple that they can benefit from learning about the missionary style. I'm pretty sure that they have something missing that's required for that position to work.
And try telling any couple that they can benefit from learning about the back to back style. I'm sure they'll find something missing for that position to work too.

Since when is sex qualified by the physical position of the partners?

Sex is a blessing given from God to a man and his wife. He was gracious enough to give us such a pleasurable experience to share.
Then why didn't God make it only pleasurable when a couple is heterosexual and married? Why are anal and oral sex so enjoyable for many men and women?

You presume that God created humanity. Thus He created us to be the way we are. But if God hated homosexuality so much, why would He have created us to get pleasure from anal sex, oral sex, and manual stimulation?

This concept that people were made to only be heterosexual, by God seems pretty stupid to me. It boils down to God either being a jerk, or being a bad designer. And so I do not believe it to be true.

Of course my "God is not a jerk" theory also leads me to believe that no sane God would create something as pleasurable as sex (in all of its consensual forms) and then expect mature adult humans not to have it for the majority of their lives. But then, I think a lot of the Bible contains the hang ups of the humans who wrote it down. It has some good points in it, particularly "Love thy neighbor as thyself." But there also seem to be a lot of petty details and mistakes (like rabbits chewing cud - which does not happen).

I think that one should focus on the positive aspects, and try to be as good a person as one can. And so long as someone isn't harming anyone else, I don't see a reason to hinder them in what they are doing.
