  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

A very specific question for evolutionists.

eve doesn't exist, and besides, if your going to be taking that path, shouldn't you start from the beginning... Lilith.
Nope --- Lilith didn't even make honorable mention in my Bible.

And this population came from where? Is this what you call punctuated equilibrium? Were they all born on the same day?
I cannot believe after all these years reading threads in this forum you are asking these questions....

1. The population came from Africa.

2. It may have involved PE.

3. Why would they need to be born on the same day? Where the members of a flock of birds all born on the same day? Populations do not evolve overnight. It takes many generations.

The question may be very specific, it also doesn't make much sense.

I have another very specific question. How much does the color red weigh. Please express your response in liters.

Hah!

My God didn't have to act like a Dutchman bringing home a tulip and babysitting it until it was ten times whatever.

He got it right the first time ---
Definitely. He got it so right, in fact, that He had to drown every man, woman and child on this planet minus eight and start anew because He couldn't think of any other way to deal with his troubled creation. What a difference to the trial-and-error approach of evolution!

Ya --- evolution is still killing every plant and animal on the planet --- minus zero.

Yes, yes they were. Time for us evolutionists to just admit it. The entire H Sapiens species was born on the same day. *Poof*

Just like how all the cockerspaniels were born on the same day

Please make up my mind --- I'm getting too much conflicting data here --- do populations evolve, or do individuals evolve?

Either a bunch of Cocker Spaniels showed up at once, or one did, then another, then another.

Did the first Cocker Spaniel have to mate with another species --- say, a Doberman?

Nope
*Poof*, overnight during the mid-1800's, scores of cockerspaniels were all born, fully formed as cockerspaniels.

The truth is out.

isnt the term breed a giveaway? it's a population. breeders select for desired traits. nature isnt nearly as deliberate as breeders are but its the same principle. its not like one generation is a wolf and the next is a spaniel. it takes thousands of generations worth of selecting traits and breeding before you produce a breed (population) of dogs we call cocker spaniels.

cocker spaniels and dobermans are the same species: canis familiaris (domestic dog). They are different breeds. all dogs can genetically mix (although some mixes are likely physically incompatable).

Nonsense. I notice you haven't defended your claim.
I think this thread has run its course. I learned a couple of things I didn't know before. As I have said before, if anyone asks me what's wrong with evolution, my answer, aside from my 4 Biblical refutations thread, would be that:

  1. Evolution runs on anarchy and beastiality.
  2. Evolution is an analog process --- with many, many holes (missing links) in it.
  3. Evolution is just a theory --- a very weak theory --- based on filling in those holes with guesswork.

evolution has nothing to do with bestiality and I'm not sure how you can apply anarchy to a biological process.
Evolution is an analog process --- with many, many holes (missing links) in it.
No. Evolution is a discrete process (rather than continuous, which I think is the word you were looking for) on at least two levels. First, each generation is a discrete seperation from the parents. Second, speciation creates discrete splits in lineages.
Evolution is just a theory --- a very weak theory --- based on filling in those holes with guesswork.
No. Evolution is "just a theory" based on mountains of evidence in the form of both the fossil record and genetic sequencing. A theory that continues to predict ongoing sequencing of species that have not yet been sequenced. A theory that could easily be refuted by showing a single example of a "chimera" or an impossible transitional.

If we all came from one mother and one father how come we are not all dribbling retards? Inbreeding and heavy incest for generations like in the A&E theory would have led to that, as history have shown.
Well, to be fair, IF we survived this long then natural selection might have purged us into a healthy inbred population, like Chillingham cattle are. (Not if every descendant of Adam and Eve was subject to some recessive disorder, though)

if its good enough to solve a murder without witnesses its good enough. you don't need all 24 frames of film to watch the move.
Evolution is just a theory

You disappoint me av. I did not know you could sink this low. Knowing that your dishonestly pushes others away from your twisted faith keeps me sane though.

You're way behind the times with this remark, MoonLancer --- I've been called this for over two years now. Like I say, I'm everything but what I claim to be, and less. As long as you guys equate dishonesty and lying with ignorance, I'll be dishonest and a liar.

refusal of facts and evidence is not ignorance (you don't need to believe it, But you should at least know our actual arguments, rather then the straw man you set out in the field after we argue).

you know, wiping yourself is a much more direct and effective way at taking abuse. you really don't need to wait up on an account for us. I hear some christains can get great pleasure from being hated by their opponents. they feel it vindicates them. You wouldn't be one of those would you?
