  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

A very specific question for evolutionists.

First of all, very little in this universe is black-and white.
Second, you just contradicted yourself. You use this coffee story to explain that your faith in Jesus may or may not be the same as your faith that coffee is $3.98 a pound, then you claim faith is all "black and white." Which is it?
I think your misunderstanding. Its a IF THEN statement which would be black or white.

Third, is there anything that would change your faith in Jesus as your saviour? Is there anything that would change your faith in coffee being $3.98 a pound? If you answer No for the first question and Yes for the second, then it is not the same "faith."
I totally agree. this is a really good point. I don't think it would be the same kind of faith.

Then what if he brought $5 with him? Would this mean AVET had NO faith that the coffee was $3.98? Or just less faith?

To av i think the answer is NO FAITH. I however think very differently and that it would just be less faith. I don't 100% faith in anything.

Even though i don't have 100% faith that the world will be here tomorrow, i try not to let it effect my everyday life.

Av may only have two settings, off and high, but i don't think that's a limitation that everyone else has.

I wonder if Av is let down consistently by the things he has faith in. Faith requires energy and commitment so if he puts the same amount of faith that god exists into little things like prices, i wonder if he is unstable?
