  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Palin has some expensive tastes

I don't expeft Palin should come out looking like something off of HeeHaw.

Why are you people complaining about the clothing folks are wearing for the INTERVIEW...but the resume of the man you support is irrrelevant?
Well heck, she charged the State a per diem for working at home. She charged the State for flying her kids around. She collected windfall taxation. She should have plenty of money to shop Macy's or Nordstroms.

Moreover, given her Govenortorial race she wasn't exactly dressing like Marge from the Simpsons.

Look elitist? Sorry no cigars. Women are judged on their appearance. Campbell Brown on CNN confirmed that even when she went on without makeup or had a crappy outfit on she got a ton of viewer e-mail. I am sure if Wolf Blitzer goes on with a bad tie no one bats an eyelash. Women are judged on their appearance. Hillary Clinton spent a lot of money on her/makeup during her run.
Man, this is funny stuff.

Please. Average Americans don't spend $150,000 on clothing! I can understand the need to look good in front of the cameras, but $150K?

It seems to suggest to me, an "average joe six-pack", that perhaps Palin isn't the "average joe six-pack" that she claims to be.

I know it's funny libs are making a big deal out of it. Obama gave almost 6x more money to Acorn than Palin spent on her wardrobe lol

We're not talking about ACORN. We're talking about Palin and her apparently expensive tastes.

And I am talking about Obama's expensive taste in enabling voter fraud.

If Palin's painted herself as an "average joe", it's only natural that people will have questions about spending $150K on clothes. I don't know anyone - male or female - who spends that much on clothes, except for rich politicians who pretend to be middle class average Americans in order to get elected.

Sorry campaign expenditure is a campaign expenditure. Palin didn't spend the money It was the McCain campaign staff and image consultants that thought it was necessary for them to spend the funds unless you can find evidence Palin thought of this idea herself. Women are judged by their looks...men are not.

I'm not questioning whether the expenditure was legal. I wonder what it says about a supposedly "average joe" candidate when she wears $150,000 clothes.

Women are judged by their looks...men are not.

Whether or not that's true (I tend to think that men are judged by how they look just as much as women), it doesn't excuse spending an inordinate amount of money for clothes.

And I don't think the Obama campaign should be wasting 600 million on a campaign.

Hmm..I haven't seen that. Only support for Obama. Keep refreshing drudge report, maybe another 'anti-obama' story will come up that won't turn out to be a hoax.

anyways as for the OP, I wonder if the GOP are consulting with Paris Hilton or Britney Spears or any other elitist celebrities for advice on where Palin should shop.
