  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Palin has some expensive tastes

And Obama is for the little person after spending 600 million on an election?

The amount of money he has received through donations or spent on the campaign is irrelevant. As is the amount of money McCain has spent on his campaign.

The outrage comes from McCain campaign spending their money so carelessly.

Exactly! If he was truly for the little guy he would have kept his word on the financing. But like all his positions.....he is a thinker and changes his mind.;)

Tonight, Barack Obama will wear a navy blue, worsted wool two-button suit that Hartmarx custom made just for him. Hartmarx is a 121-year-old Chicago-based manufacturer of high-end men's suits. Obama, who wears a 40 long with a 33-inch waist, has worn Hart Schaffner Marx suits but always off the rack, said an inside source. He favors the Gold Trumpeter collection. His new custom suit is 97 percent merino wool and 3 percent cashmere, has pleated plants with a 1 1/2-inch cuff and would cost about $1,500 off the rack.

I really have no desire to continue this discussion because I don't care. This is the first one I found with search. Again, WHO CARES?

That sounds like a special occasion and not something wore everyday. Do you have something more pertinent?

Even one $1500 suit... It's like you'll say anything.
1) it's his money and..
2) it was the DNC convention, a once in a lifetime occasion.

heck, even Cindy McCain doesn't wear the over $300,000 ensemble she wore at the RNC convention.

I seriously doubt Obama is wearing these everyday on the trail like Palin.

And 28k a plate from Hollywood Actors?
Plate dinners are rather common place jw3.
It is no different then McCain having one in a town not to far from me for $33,100 a plate.

But my point is that Obama's small donor contributions is staggering as it is the little man who sees their hope in him and their actions speak volumes.

2)He's being supported by big business too.

Well we won't know how many small donor donations McCain would have had because he is not allowed to accept donations anymore..McCain kept his word about public financing. Obama didn't.

I don't mind having the convesation, but "it's probably" conversations based without merit just kills the conversation.

How about we keep this dialogue deviod of speculation?

Oh, I see, its speculation if I say Obama is doing it. Is McCain supported by big business?

So the McCain campaign spent 150k on Palin's wardrobe in 8 weeks, this amounts to about 20k for every week.

She probably expects this kind of special treatment if McCain wins the election. Lets see...20k a week and 52 weeks a year .. for four years .. a little more than 4 million dollars for her wardrobe over the course of one term.

Pretty pricey for a hockey mom. Maybe she can consult with Paris Hilton to get information for the hottest places to shop.
