When I shared with my wife that Jesus told me we were not to hurt anyone for any reason her reaction was much as yours. She asked me if someone came into our house and was going to rape her, what would I do? I told her that I would not hurt him. She angrily left the room. I didnt discuss it with her any more. My job isnt to convince anyone of anything. I knew though, that she would go to Jesus and ask him if I was right. She did and came back and told me she would not want me to hurt him.
ah, you've taken the bible out of context and are putting one truth on a pedestal and denying others.
God gave us common sense brother, and you are to protect your spouse. Read the love chapter, 1 cor 13, and elsewhere.
You are taking one bit, wholly out of context and you are saying this is my truth.
So what's your take on this bit:
Then Jesus asked them, "When I sent you without purse, bag or sandals, did you lack anything?"
"Nothing," they answered.
36He said to them, "But now if you have a purse, take it, and also a bag; and if you don't have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one.
and while your at it, someone comes in the house, your wife who you will not do your godly obligation to protect is not home but your 2 year old grandchild is.
and they come in and are raping that child, you let such occur as well?
i let the wife be out of the house, so as not to trouble you as we knwo you give no care about her in the least, so answer on the grandchild bit.
his time to be raped?
