The answer repeated so many times is this...this issue is one of abiogenesis, and NOT biological evolution. It is an issue of chemistry, NOT biology. Two distinct scientific fields. But what we DO KNOW is answering the question with a God-of-the-Gaps is not an answer at all, especially not a scientific answer.

But whether abiogenesis is correct or not is irrelevent to whether biological evolution is supported by the evidence. Anyone who fails to recognize this is either intentionally deceitful or painfully ignorant.
