Don't let Vicente get you down Rod, there is always attack on the true anointing, I was kinda down today, but when i went to get nonfat yogurts for me and tami i spoke in tongues all the way there and back and the Holy Spirit broke off the doldrums, i preached last night and the anointing poured on the young adults and Tami and usually the next day your real tired, lets stay built up in HIM!! Oh and by the way, i brought tami her yogurt on the couch, and we're watching Dr. Phil, who has T.D. Jakes on his show, thanks for the Word earlier today, oh mighty prophet of God

The anointing as an Apostle for the poster I have been referring to, which by the way isn't Rod, is exactly what's in question. So my "attack", as you call it, is not proof of someones anointing.

I have noticed that several times you have used the example of "Doubting Thomas" as how we should test things I find this a poor example as Thomas was indulged and Jesus even made him touch the wounds to be sure he truely believed. But Jesus also reproved him for his unbelief did he not? I'm sure you can find a better example. I know there are specific examples of testing prophets in the OT are there any in the new?
Have you shared in prophesey here yet? by the rules I would say you are due. I realize that the Spirit does not perform on command, However Jesus was clear on obeying rules.

Sorry for the delay. Understand before I go further that my beef is with those that claim to speak directly for God as a Prophet or Apostle would by writing as if God were typing, claiming “God told me”, or “this says the Lord”, etc…

Maybe it is a bad example. I used it because it was the first thing that came to mind. Still though, maybe the reason Thomas was reproved is because being one of Jesus’ closest followers who Jesus had already established Himself and His claims with, Thomas should have recognized Him. Even after reprimanding him though, Jesus still showed the scars. It might not be the best example I could have given though, but it came to mind first and was a quick response.

I will give both because as there were false prophets in the OT times, so there are in the NT times, so the test for the validity of a prophet has changed though the consequences of being a false one have (ex. We don’t stone them any more).

2 Timothy 2:15:
15Be diligent to (A)present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling (B)the word of truth.

We are not to just accept anything that the wind blows our way.

Titus 1:9-11:
9(A)holding fast the faithful word which is in accordance with the teaching, so that he will be able both to exhort in (B)sound doctrine and to refute those who contradict.
10(C)For there are many (D)rebellious men, (E)empty talkers and deceivers, especially (F)those of the circumcision,
11who must be silenced because they are upsetting (G)whole families, teaching (H)things they should not teach (I)for the sake of sordid gain.

Again, don’t just accept anything that someone claims is “from the Lord”.

2 Timothy 4:3-4:
3For (A)the time will come when they will not endure (B)sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires,
4and (C)will turn away their ears from the truth and (D)will turn aside to myths.

Again, same point as the above ones.

21But (AO)examine everything carefully; (AP)hold fast to that which is good;

Examine every prophetic utterance carefully. Pretty straight forward.

Deuteronomy 13:
1"(A)If a prophet or a dreamer of dreams arises among you and gives you a sign or a wonder,
2and the sign or the wonder comes true, concerning which he spoke to you, saying, '(B)Let us go after other gods (whom you have not known) and let us serve them,'
3you shall not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams; for the LORD your God is (C)testing you to find out if (D)you love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.
4"(E)You shall follow the LORD your God and fear Him; and you shall keep His commandments, listen to His voice, serve Him, and (F)cling to Him.
6"(J)If your brother, your mother's son, or your son or daughter, or the wife you cherish, or your friend who is as your own soul, entice you secretly, saying, '(K)Let us go and serve other gods' (whom neither you nor your fathers have known,

Just a couple of the ways to determine if a prophet is false. Sound doctrine is a requirement. Last verse says investigate, search out, and inquire thoroughly.

Deuteronomy 18:
20'But the prophet who speaks a word (V)presumptuously in My name which I have not commanded him to speak, or (W)which he speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet shall die.'
21"You may say in your heart, 'How will we know the word which the LORD has not spoken?'
22"(X)When a prophet speaks in the name of the LORD, if the thing does not come about or come true, that is the thing which the LORD has not spoken The prophet has spoken it (Y)presumptuously; you shall not be afraid of him.

Don’t speak presumptuously in the name of God. According to the bible He takes this offence very serious. Serious enough to place it as commandment number 3:

Exodus 20:7:
7"(A)You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not leave him unpunished who takes His name in vain.

Notice that every prophet and apostle who claims to speak directly for God, which is my beef in some of the posts here, they always prove the validity of their message by miracles, signs, healing, wonders, etc... When they validate their message from God, there is also never any room for mistake. Moses turned his staff into a snake among other things. Elijah’s message was confirmed by fire from heaven. Elisha parted water in 2 Kings 2:14 and healed the water later in that same chapter. Noah’s message was confirmed by the flood itself (too late I guess if you failed to believe that one). 1 Sam 2:27-34 is another example of a prophet sending a message to Eli with their confirmation in verse 34. Isaiah’s confirmation as speaking from God comes in the form of His prophecies coming true. An example of Ezekiel’s confirmation is in Ez 3:16. Daniel confirmed he was speaking directly from God when his dream interpretations came true, he survived the lions den, and the handwriting on the wall. Jesus confirmed who He was when healed lepers, blind, crippled, fulfilled prophecy, raised others from the dead, and He ultimately rose from the dead. Peter healed the crippled (Acts 2 & 9) and raised the dead (Acts 9). Philip was “raptured” in Acts 8. So…Prophets and Apostles messages were always confirmed, otherwise how would people know what do believe or disbelieve? To those who do write in the 1st person as if God were the one typing or who claim “the Lord told me…”, I’m not asking anything that is out of line with scripture or unreasonable. So, confirm that you are really speaking for God.

God’s speaking directly to Apostles or Prophets was always direct and unmistakable. See Isaiah, Ezekiel in Ezekiel 1 and 2, Samuel, Paul, John, etc… For those that think they are receiving direct words from God, does He speak like this to you?

There is a really good reason you have not heard me speak directly from God. I recognize that speaking directly from God is a gift I don’t have. So I’m not exactly due or overdue….I wasn’t on the schedule to begin with. And I won’t presumptuously speak directly from God because I think doing so is equal to taking His name in vain along with being misleading to others. If you wish, you can consider what I said a word of warning. But it’s not from God through me because I’m no prophet; I just happened to find it in scripture and decided to take it seriously.

I’m going to leave off on these verses that speak for themselves, so please consider them:

Jeremiah 23:

25 "I have heard what the prophets say who prophesy lies in my name. They say, 'I had a dream! I had a dream!'
26 How long will this continue in the hearts of these lying prophets, who prophesy the delusions of their own minds?
27 They think the dreams they tell one another will make my people forget my name, just as their fathers forgot my name through Baal worship.
28 Let the prophet who has a dream tell his dream, but let the one who has my word speak it faithfully. For what has straw to do with grain?" declares the LORD.
29 "Is not my word like fire," declares the LORD, "and like a hammer that breaks a rock in pieces?
30 "Therefore," declares the LORD, "I am against the prophets who steal from one another words supposedly from me. 31 Yes," declares the LORD, "I am against the prophets who wag their own tongues and yet declare, 'The LORD declares.'
32 Indeed, I am against those who prophesy false dreams," declares the LORD. "They tell them and lead my people astray with their reckless lies, yet I did not send or appoint them. They do not benefit these people in the least," declares the LORD.
33 "When these people, or a prophet or a priest, ask you, 'What is the oracle [d] of the LORD ?' say to them, 'What oracle? [e] I will forsake you, declares the LORD.'
34 If a prophet or a priest or anyone else claims, 'This is the oracle of the LORD,' I will punish that man and his household.
35 This is what each of you keeps on saying to his friend or relative: 'What is the LORD's answer?' or 'What has the LORD spoken?'
36 But you must not mention 'the oracle of the LORD ' again, because every man's own word becomes his oracle and so you distort the words of the living God, the LORD Almighty, our God.
37 This is what you keep saying to a prophet: 'What is the LORD's answer to you?' or 'What has the LORD spoken?'
38 Although you claim, 'This is the oracle of the LORD,' this is what the LORD says: You used the words, 'This is the oracle of the LORD,' even though I told you that you must not claim, 'This is the oracle of the LORD.'
39 Therefore, I will surely forget you and cast you out of my presence along with the city I gave to you and your fathers. 40 I will bring upon you everlasting disgrace—everlasting shame that will not be forgotten."

Irritated the teacher reiterated that it was physically impossible. The little girl said; When i get to heaven i will ask Jonah. The teacher asked; What if Jonah went to hell?? The little girl replied; Then you ask him !!

The one the word is for will know. Not everyone. There will always be critics like yourself . All I have seen you do is tear down and bring disruption to a thread that was meant to uplift and encourage. I have spoke this way in church and it always blesses people including the pastor. And those pastors never once rebuked me or ask for a sign. You know a word is valid because it lines up with the Word.

I have also been given words that rebuke and warn certain people to repent. Mainly those within the church and in leadership roles. These people sinned in one fashion or another. These words are very specific and tell the person will happen if they don't repent. I have only had to do this a few times and believe me. I pray long and hard over them. I have seen some of them come to pass right down to every dot of an i and cross of a t. Those people chose not to repent and their secret came out to find the word was true. Others repented and later told me the word was dead on.

So don't give me your crap. I don't know what makes you such an authority on this subject. But I do know by our ages I have been at this a lot longer than you.

PS--- I don't claim to be a prophet or anything because I don't like titles. To many people use them for power trips. Some have called me that but I don't know if I am or I am not. I do know far and above anything else, I am a servant of the Most High. I will do what HE wants me to do, when HE wants me to do it. I will say what HE wants me say, when HE wants me to say it!!
