Lets say you go to work for Dell computers and your job is building motherboards (however they do it lol). You are in training and they show you exactly what to do. If you say to yourself, well this doesnt make sense to me, it should be done my way, and you put out 1000 motherboards that are dont YOUR way, youre not going to be entering back into those gates.

Consider that Christians were called 'believers', what does this imply? Believing what? We were called believers because we believe Christ not buddah or mohammhed. If Jesus said i am the way the truth and the life and you reject this you are NOT a believer of the christian faith no matter how you insist because that IS the christian faith... you have by that point created your own religion and Jesus said He is the ONLY door and if anyone tries to get in any other way he is a thief.

A 'Christian' cannot believe Jesus is not the only way. "Christians' are defined by this principle along with "believe and be baptized".

As Christians it is not our duty to pick and choose what we will believe. Some people look at passages which are hard to reconsile and just give it up choosing to believe one passage to the EXCLUSION of the other. Scripture says 'ALL scriupture is inspired by God and profitable' therefore we are to dig out every word of God concerning any one doctrione and believe them ALL, reconciling them in such a way so that they are ALL true.

Build that motherboard right or leave, Dell would say, and God is greater.

Scripture requires a lot of digging to reconcile sometimes but there is no scripture that doesnt agree except on the surface. Just keep digging brother and you will find the gold

Well considering the bible isn't has crystal clear as some Christians claim it is (hence the thousands of denominations), I don't think that one denomination has any real right to claim monopoly on the absolute truth and reject all other sects within Christianities as false and inspired by Satan. Virtually every theist believes their belief system is correct; and since having faith isn't something you can disprove. IT would be rather difficult to falsify their belief (unless it is shown that it is against a certain scripture or an outright lie.)
Maybe now those "Christians" that weren't considered to be Christian before are now regarded as such..I don't really see a problem with this.
I think that people on this forum do a pretty decent job of calling out falsehoods in certain belief systems, so like I said before, unless you are Weak in your Faith (i.e., extremely intolerant) then I don't see where you would have a problem, there are still a few sections I imagine where you can chat and have a cup of tea with your narrow-minded friends without being bothered by "God's enemies"

And if you are extremely unhappy with this place there's probably a million other Christian chat sites that would cater to your beliefs.

Tensions are high, many many people have left, and are waiting to see if it will come back to what it was, and sadly a lot of good staff have resigned. Now is the time to vent and to discuss and yes to maybe even change the direction of some things. I am not against Erwin or this board, I love this place and that is why I fightn so hard to keep what it was. You have a brilliant mind and make sense when you are serious, please try to fuirther the healing and yes even the direction this board should go in and perhaps if you grab hold of what it was minus the bad you can convince Erwin to return to what people can accept and people will return and the good staff that was lost can be brought back on. I know they were many but I know DAmnn was wonderful as well as angel almeda and many others it was a great loss to this site

Wow, talk about judgemental and intolorant Christians may disagree but the common denominator is Christ and Christ alone for all of us. Some just skim the surface of the bible while others study for years, we are all at a different point in our walk. Should more love be shown, yes, should we look the other way for the sake of unity, I think not. Same with sinners, we all sin, we love the sinner and hate the sin. Prayer and example are powerful motivators my friend and I wish you well

Inspired is kind of it up for interpretation.

Like when I am inspired to play guitar or write a song. Is this what is meant by inspired. Or do you interpret it differently?

The point is our beliefs must align with the way we view the world. If someone views the world where the literal bible can not fit, then they will not believe in a literal bible. That is until whatever other information is stopping this is dealt with to reform their worldview to fit with a literal bible.

We live in a world of science today. We know the world didn’t come into be as is claimed in the bible. So someone who knows this evidence will not be able to view the genesis story as literal. Me for instance, I know too much neuroscience to believe in a soul. It isn’t that I wouldn’t like to believe in a soul, I just would have to reinterpret the evidence in another way that would have to discount some evidence.

I am rambling, sorry about that.

The point is all of our beliefs are dictated by the information we have to recon with.
This is why there are so many different types of Christians.
If your god really cares what kind of Christian someone is don’t you think he would have made it more clear?

If anyone would like to take their frustrations out on me to divert some stress from these matters then feel free. I have large shoulders I can carry it. Further I know God will help me with the weight.

This has been an exasperating period recently and I can understand how some people can get upset over small comments. That is fine. I am good with it.

My friend you discount faith. Spiritual understands spiritual and physical understands phusical. Our home is not this earth, our journey is spiritual. Why do you think that Jesus spoke in parables, those with spiritual; ears understood, those that didnt were not.
