• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Using Paul’s example of his imprisonment (chained daily to Roman soldiers in his own house) resulted in the spread of the gospel within the elite imperial praetorian guard. The Apostle was undoubtedly continuing to rejoice in the Lord, but if he had been complaining, sulking, and bitter, his witness would have been zero.

The more spiritual a man desires to be, the more bitter does his present life become to him; because he sees more clearly and perceives more sensibly the defects of human corruption. Thomas a Kempis

You could have fooled me. Remember some people can read between the lines
Your between the lines, and actual lines, indicate you are a sock :)

and not everyone is distracted by smoke and mirrors.
A sock talking about smoke and mirrors? Roflcopter.

Did you begin the discussion on this name change that everyone is so upset about or not?
Irrelevant :)

Considering the position you once held I am sure you do. Shame on Erwin for not refunding site supporter money, while it may not be actionable according to you was it ethical or even Christyian to betray the site supporters and change the whole site and still use their momney to run it?

I guess I don't understand the whole "betrayal" thing that cropped up with the name change. Just because the name of a thing is "Christian" that doesn't make it more or less christian.

Perhaps I am too cynical from having seen too many scams perpetrated with the name "christian" attached to them. I'm afraid I don't put a lot of stock in the word "christian". I prefer to look at what is actually done and never mind the name.

Then look at it honestly and tell me if people were not betrayed, many feel as if they were. Was it ethical to change everything and keep money which was donated for a different name and vision? Was it ethical? Last night you said no. I hope you dont sway in the wind in terms of what you say and believe.

Interesting. Now Mr. Stevedj did you or did you not start this discussion regarding a name change? That seems like an easy question.

And do you think Paul failed to preach the Gospel? Do you think he failed to tell the Guard that he was a lost sinner destined for an eternity of torment?

Considering his epistles I doubt he failed in these things that we are not permitted to do here.

Since he is bashful I will answer that one. According to Erwin earlier he hadnt thought of doing it until he was directed to a poll

Hmm I missed that rule.
Where is it posted in the rules that you can't preach the Gospel ?

Now remember that lying is an abomination to the lord.
