Thank you. To me, it's obvious that this is a reaction to those who were hollering about the new CF being a social site and telling Erwin to take Christian out of the name. I think a rather large bluff has been called.

Good Grief! Look at all you Christians complaining about a name?? Where does it say in the Bible that we are to seclude ourselves from society? (Unequally yoked means don’t marry! Not hide your light!) Every single day we should be prepared to answer what we believe and why. Every single place we find ourselves, and to every one. We are to go out and witness. Not “preach” not “condemn” but SHOW that we believe in our faith.

Where is your faith? Do you not believe God is greater than any problems set before you?

I think Erwin made a good choice. There is no question in my mind he is leaving this to God. I am certainly not going to discourage that. I hope to see things get better and better from here. If you are a Christian that feels that you just cannot handle it, then go. I hate to see it though. I would much rather we all find that place to learn and grow, rather than a place that we stagnate in, or a rut that we have decorated and called home.

So I guess that each forum will be open to all? Or will there be denomination specific places people can congregate in? I am under the impression that each forum should decide for themselves, but are we keeping in line with whoever may post wherever?

I cant speak for others, but as for myself, Im not complaining of 'just a name'. Im standing up for my Lord. His name is HOLY and it has been taken from too much already. I didnt come here to seclude myself from non Christians. I came here to fellowship with people who love the Lord as I do.

This at least confirms the rumors that Erwin was making a hefty profit from this site. To spend the what $7000 so easily shows he had the money available - he wouldn't just appease people by spending money from his own pocket. He bowed to the masses so he could continue making money.

Actually... this site loaded slowly when I typed ^ that, but when I went to git the links I seen the "faith" icon of the poster an it is an athesits.

Yeah, HopeBforJC caught it earlier and pointed it out. Looks like a 3-post sock account, someone too cowardly to stand up with their main account and say something so discourteous and plain rude.

But it is just one. I think you'll agree that pretty much every other non-christian throughout this thread has been fairly polite (with the exception of Chalnoth getting a big LOL out of all this. He has a point though that no one caught) and not particularly celebratory or anything.

No, I don't think thats the point. Its saying that he bought it like 2 or 3 weeks ago while people were debating about this exact thing. Says, he didn't listen to the debates, the votes, and just made up his own mind. Basically... *shrug*

I really don't think he did any of this for the money. I think he did what he thinks is right, and what needed to be done. Obviously, people don't agree.

I want to commend Erwin for this change. Why? Because it is a needed step in accurately packaging what this site has become and is becoming. With this packaging new Christians and naive Christians will not think they are on a safe site spiritually. That is good given the changes of 7-7-7.

I do not commend the 7-7-7 changes. I believe that was when this site abandoned a biblical core (The Nicene Creed and a trinitarian concept of God as well as some foundational biblical standards of conduct) in favor of a WIKI-driven post modern mindset and authority structure.

Given THAT change (7-7-7) the change today only makes sense. I lays to rest Christian Forums (which had been deceased and was only awaiting a decent burial) and accurately describes what Erwin has decided this site is and will be.

Thus today is a step into accurate presentation. The new label is not the issue, the reforms of 7-7-7 are the issue.

I will likely do some apologetics here if the WIKI rules will allow any biblical truth to be presented. I will not view this as a fellowship site, even in the congregational bunkers.

I would ask Erwin to consider removing pre-teens from the site (Actually I suggest 16 or 18 as a minimum age). This place will get darker and I would not want to encourage young people to socially network here.

I sadly have to agree with you on that DrSteve. I just let my granddaughter join and now I am so sorry that I did. She loved CF!! Now I am not sure if it is the right place for her here. I will let her stay for now, but I will definitely have to monitor EVERYTHING she is doing! Unfortunately I can't see where she has visited. This really sucks, you know?

Well, not all Christians are Biblical fundamentalists, so what you believe to be true can be different than what some other Christians believe to be true.
