What is the WORST movie you've ever seen?

mortal kombat 2 -- they couldn't get the same actors from the first movie, so it was sort of a no-go from the start....

2001: A Space Odyssey -- have to agree this is overrated trash...

There was some movie my uncle brought back from walmart -- he paid like a dollar for it -- it was some very low budget cross between harry potter / lord of the rings -- I can't recall the name, something like Harold Peter and the Legend of Ring.... I only watched about 5 minutes of it because it was so hilariously painful...

The Hours ... please shoot me now...

Wild Wild West -- I saw this in high school with some friends. First movie I had seen in the theaters for years.... Terrible, just terrible. Probably the worst main-stream "blockbuster" I have ever seen. I didn't see another movie in theater for years...

My dad introduced us to the actual show via rentals. When I saw that Will Smith was going to be in the movie remake, I refused to see it. Do yourself a favor and rent some episodes of the original show. I think you will find it to be much better than that movie.

Sad thing is (Googling it...) it had a budget of $175 million..... What's even sadder is that it made $217,700,000 worldwide....

How can you SAY that?!:cry:The film making is INCREDIBLE, and the questions it raises, ie: "What is human intelligence, really?" and "What will mankind evolve into next?" were really ahead of their time. It's definitely a slow-paced film, but I don't think one can claim it's a film without an incredible degree of vision and inspiration.

your use of brains always impresses me. and i wish i could be appreciative of the cinematic exploration that was embarked upon by the filmmakers... but in this case, I reply:

hooey.

Hahaha, well, to be fair, it doesn't make much sense if you don't read the book. Not that the book makes much sense, either, but it makes the movie considerably less inchoate.
i cannot believe i had to look that up in the dictionary. you win.

"2001" was really good film-making. It had almost nothing to do with the original story by Arthur C Clarke.

But the story in the film, and in the original by Clarke, are both laughable, like a lot of science fiction in general. The first time I watched the film we actually laughed through a lot of it.

I have a problem with any movie that is based on a book as they never really live up to the expectations of what you read. When I saw Howl's Moving Castle after reading the book I nerly cried. The story was so different yet had the same characters and some situations were the same but it all ended up wrong!

Wow you make it sound like such a great movie. I think I will just live happily in the knowledge that I didn't get the opportunity to see it... thanks :D

No problem :)

I will admit it did have very nice visual effects but the storyline was way "out there".

I actually saw that in the theater. As something of an otaku myself, anything anime-ish has a very low threshold to pass by me -- however the end part where the broom turned into the prince from the neighboring kingdom did strike me as exceedingly corny....

A french movie called Amelie and Run Laura Run. They are too detail oriented and I missed the points of the whole movies.
Are they trying to tell us something?
I love Amelie! Gorgeous movie. Inspiring, really. Love is a broad subject and comes in many forms. Amelie's acts of kindness let love have its chance. :)
