• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

 • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

A new CF, an old vision (3)

Thank you for bringing that up!!!

The Politically Correct CF is here.

I have to admit that caused me to raise my eyebrows as well. However, he did say that it was between that person and God.

I honestly think that Erwin is taking the stance that CF will no longer define anything Christian. He just gave that as an example.

Remember, though, each forum will be able to form its own rules and we the membership will make the forum policy. So, if it comes down to it, we the membership, do not have to allow the same sex marriage rings. In reality, we the membership now rule the site, not Erwin, not Alpha, not moderators.

That is the beauty of the idea.

God did not restrict us? Oh so those were the 10 Suggestions that He gave Moses.
You mean the 10 Commandments? Love God and Love Others. There are two ways of looking at the Ten Commandments (in my opinion).

1. For those who are without Christ in our hearts, if we broke ONE law... we broke them all. We all are sinners and we need to be saved.

2. For those who are WITH Christ in our hearts, the Ten Commandments are about LOVE. Christians do not look at the Ten Commandments as laws but Grace of Love. We are to LOVE God first (first 4 commandments) and we are to love one another (last 6 commandments).

What does he believe it takes for a person to become a Christian again? If he doesn't go by that definition... how is he achieving his purpose?

By letting each person define themselves. That's much better, because Christianity is diverse, and not all Christians fit into one single definition. With the NC as the definition, there were many Christians excluded from the Christian only section.

I'm excited to see this come about. Giving everyone a say in how the site is run will foster community.

I think that at least part of CF should be declared -Biblically correct -that way members could decide whether they wanted to be part of that territory or not After all you probably wont change the people who go there and you probably would not change the ones who would like to try

I agree. It may get rough in spots. People are going to get mad, but in the end, it will be for the best. Some people just do not like change. I love change. In my life, I have had no choice, but to embrace change. I guess I am just used to it. ;)

Phew. That was a lot of posts to skim through. Nothing much has changed either, unfortunately. One thing I have seen and am saddened by is how unloving many of the Christians are that are posting here. They insult, demean, ridicule and attack. This doesn't apply for everyone, obviously, but there were quite a few. Funny thing was, non-Christians were more civil than the Christians. This is truly sad.

Hey, if you call yourself a Christian, read 1 Corinthians 13 again. Meditate on it before posting again. Go to the Lord and seek His will. Above all, act like Christians. We don't know what the future holds, but lets trust God to carry us through.

1 Corinithians 13 (NKJV)
1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. 2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.
4 Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; 5 does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; 6 does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
8 Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part. 10 But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away. 11 When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things. 12 For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known. 13 And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

That was one of my biggest issues here in CF. They pick doctrines over love.
