The word is this..
I am not too keen on tradtion.. In my faith it is in Christ alone and what His word tells me.. I may have a tradition that my family has had down through the years. I may sing Happy Birthday to Jesus when others celebrate Christmas. I am a creature of habit.. I Guess it really depends on what you consider tradition..You don't follow any traditions?
I did check my source. Don't know what source you are reading from.Please....menoun comes from the word mena..

I'm not saying Protestants aren't saved. Far from it. That is not my place to judge peoples denominations.Actually it is our choice to trust in Christ for our salvation..And yes we should submit to the leadership in our respective churches unless we see them stray from the truth,,And the church is alive on earth, it just is not confined to your Catholic church..pax..kim

what happened to the first child that was born? He didn't live.. Making Solomon and only child of His mother.. You need to read a little further into what you post. Taking it out of context is where you all into error. You have to read the whole story.. Read about the first child that the Lord took because of Davids sin before the Lord..Ever virginity of Mary..
Proverbs Ch. 4
1 Listen, my sons, to a father's instruction;
pay attention and gain understanding.
2 I give you sound learning,
so do not forsake my teaching.
3 When I was a boy in my father's house,
still tender, and an only child of my mother,
4 he taught me and said,
"Lay hold of my words with all your heart;
keep my commands and you will live.
Solomon speaking prophetic words about Christ. Solomon was not an only child..
2 Samuel 11:27
After the time of mourning was over, David had her brought to his house, and she became his wife and bore him a son. But the thing David had done displeased the LORD.
2 Samuel 12:24
Then David comforted his wife Bathsheba, and he went to her and lay with her. She gave birth to a son, and they named him Solomon. The LORD loved him;
11:27 speaks of a son being born to David, prior to the birth of Solomon in 12:24. So how could Solomon ever been an only child of his mother, if his brother was born first. So therefore, he must e speaking prophetically..
So you claim.Sola Scriptura (Bible Only) is man made tradition because it is not taught in the Bible.
The latter part of each verse does not change the meaning of the former.
And that would be His written word. Jesus doesn't speak kindly of tradtions so therfore I don't think I will follow them. He speaks about the scriptures constantly so these are what I will allow to be a light unto my path.. My righteousness is Christ. The Father sanctifies me through His truth and His word is truth..

And youre right.Thus making Bathsheba, at the time of Solomon's birth the mother of to children. One that did not live, but her child, none the less; and one that lived...Solomon.
I have four children, but only three survived; that makes me a mother of four....not three, and a thing in Heaven.
Peace be with you...Pam
And youre right.
But Solomon was saying he is an only
child.
If he has no siblings, he is an only
child.
This thread is not about Jesus having
siblings though.
Peace
Here we go again with the death theory. Solomon did not know his sibiling.. He was an only child being that the first child was not raised. He was an only child to His mother. The first child was not here..Solomon had a sibling, that preceeded him...he died, but he was still his sibling.
It is about Mary though, so the subject of her having other children, usually comes up....in the course of the discussion.
Peace be with you...Pam
why don't you tell me. You are the one stuck on tradition.. I have freedom in Christ and His word. I have Christ in Me. His presence lives within Me not within a piece of bread or a cup of wine.. I don't have to worry about sacraments or purgatory or any of this you claim is tradtion. For I am safe and secure in the One Whom saves..So IAA, as a Protestant, what traditions do you follow?
Exactly.Here we go again with the death theory. Solomon did not know his sibiling.. He was an only child being that the first child was not raised. He was an only child to His mother. The first child was not here..
