CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The fact that atheists & agnostics scoff at our good Christian beliefs- THAT is what I call persecution. You can show me all the pie charts you want, but the truth is we are persecuted.
Everyone seems to be in favor of abortion when it just happens to be the product of rape. That is a little much to handle, first of all considering that Christian values just get tossed out of the window at that point. Murder is murder, and if you kill someone in cold blood a jury won't let you off with a slap on the wrist. There should be no exception here as well.
A woman wants to abort a rape child? She should have thought of that before she walked down that dark alley without a male prescence, not to mention she should have thought before putting on revealing attire.

Look, I'm not condoning the act of rape and trying to look like a monster here. I'm just saying a lot of the situations would have been completely avoidable had the woman used some caution & common sense. I don't feel I have to apologize for feeling this way or feel bad for a woman who ventured out into a dark alley KNOWING what this world is like today.
Just to add, the rare instances where a woman was impregnated via rape may have been prevented had the woman insist he used protection. That, or she should carry protection with her to guarantee the rape be safer.

Haven't you heard of "expect the unexpected"? Of course a woman can prepare herself, and for the sake of her well-being I would suggest doing so. This is the one rare case in which I would support carrying a contraceptive.

Since some of you men are completely clueless as to what an Ectopic Pregnancy is:
Ectopic pregnancy is when the embryo implants in the fallopian tube and not the lining of the woman's uterus. Because the Fallopian tube is only as large in diameter as a strand of human hair, you can see why an embryo cannot safely grow when implanted in the tube. When it begins to grow, it ruptures the fallopian tube and the woman can bleed internally and if she isn't treated, she will die.
There is no medical intervention that is able to remove the embryo from the woman's fallopian tube and place it within the uterus. If it's detected early in the pregnancy, the fallopian tube can be removed. That is not an abortion. The surgeon removes the fallopian tube with the embryo in it. If this is not detected and the fallopian tube and embryo are not removed, both woman and child will die.
And you can still say it's not acceptable under those circumstances?

Why make exceptions for one thing and not another?
Me, I'm pro abortion as long as the being hasn't had time to develop.
But why be against even contraceptives, except for rape? You want even MORE babies to flood the earth?
People are going to have sex all the time, so they may as well use contraceptives to prevent any accidents.

Knowing that there are other "Christians" out there who think this way almost makes me embarrassed of my faith.
