I'm not sure what ectopic means. I can safely say however, it can't be used as a valid excuse for an abortion.

The baby is not at fault for the pregnancy. It takes the mother & father to create a pregnancy, and should be made to deal with the consequences that follow.

It's clear that this is what would happen if abortion was banned and one of the main reasons why im pro-choice.

In favor of general abortion or not pro-choice is the position to be in. We need safe clinics where women can be given safe treatment and medical advice, than visit some underground "doctor" or have DIY abortions.

There are laws against burglary, rape, and armed robbery, yet every one of these crimes continues to happen in our society. That these things still hsppen should not convince us to make them legal. Laws should discourage bad things from happening, not conform to them simply because they happen.

An ectopic pregnancy, loosely explained:

A pregnancy where the embryo develops outside the uterus (or "womb" in the common tongue) usually in the fallopian tubes (which are really tiny and incapable of supporting a developing fetus). It is my understanding, that left untreated (by medical or divine means) an ectopic pregnancy will result in the rupture of whatever structure the embryo/fetus was developing, causing severe injuries, which again, left untreated cause internal bleeding and ultimately death of the woman.

My last review of medical literature on the subject revealed two distressing facts for the anti-abortion position:

1. Outside divine intervention, there is no way for an ectopic pregnancy to result in a live birth.
2. Left untreated an ectopic pregnancy will, outside divine intervention, cause a serious internal injury to the woman which can and has resulted in death.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but it appears at least in this circumstance that the methods of terminating the ectopic pregnancy are both 1) required for the life and/or health of the pregnant woman, and 2) that the preborn entity is in no way (outside divine intervention) viable as such term is understood in medicine or under the laws of the several States.
