my study Bible comments God has good pleasing and perfect plans for his children. He wants us to be transformed people with renewed minds living to honour and obey Him. We can only be transformed as the Holy Spirit renews, re-educates and redirects our minds.

I like this b/c it says that when the Spirit wants to speak thru us He will and so we shouldn't be worried about defending ourselves but leave it to Him.

Psalm 84:10 For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand [anywhere else]; I would rather be a doorkeeper and stand at the threshold in the house of my God than to dwell [at ease] in the tents of wickedness.

How good it is to be in the presence of God! Better than anywhere else! I'd rather have a menial job serving the Lord, than to have plenty in wickedness.

I find it awesome that the same power that was used to raise Jesus from the dead, has given to me everything I need to live an abundant life and to be godly - it comes through truly knowing God. Blesses my socks off! abbasdaughter

Jesus could come at any time! Hallelujah! I rejoice in the thought of seeing my savior at last. Even so, this is a warning. We can easily drift, getting caught up in the things of this life.

Colossians 1:21-22
"21 Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior. 22 But now he has reconciled you by Christ's physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation"

This verse really spoke to me today, as I was dwelling on verse 21 nd was beating myself up because of my sinful behavior. Yet, today through honest prayer, God Himself was faithful to His Word and brought me again to realize and know verse 22 in all its fullness-- I am free from shame, guilt, blemish, and accusation through the work of the cross. Such a simple thing, but it is so easy to listen to decietful lies; I had forgotten that I am forgiven and free from such accusations. God's Word brings life, and it did, and I am ever thankful for God answering prayer! God has enabled me to live free in Christ. What a great God we serve.. that i can be confident in God's Word and trust that it is true for me.

Thank you Jesus that I am reconciled through Christ! Thank you Jesus for blocking what I want, and instead giving what I need. From now on your leading Lord, show me your path, I'm open to what your plan is. Guide me, be my center. Through Jesus I pray. Amen.

As I was meditating on 1 John 1:7 this morning, the Lord spoke to me about God's righteousness through Jesus Christ.

But if we walk in the light as He Himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.

I was reminded of an old song, When we Walk in the Light", and searched on line for the lyrics. I found many scriptures and a couple of devotions, but never found the words to this particular song.

I have been trying to find a thread that spoke about scripture not in a theological way but in a personal way...I am new to the forums so I might be overlooking it. I would like this thread to be about your favorite scripture and what it speaks to you. How does it touch your heart? What does it say to your spirit? How do you grow by remembering it? If you have more than one, then please post the ones you love.

This is NOT a thread to discuss theology or to tell someone they are wrong in how it speaks to them, but a thread to share out joy for God and how we grow based on His word!

20 By His knowledge depths have been rent, And clouds do drop dew. YLT

Clouds represent the presence and protection of the Lord. Remember how the cloud led His people in the wilderness and protected them from the scorching heat?

Dew represents the blessing of the Lord. Dew saturates the earth daily as it drinks in the moisture in order that it may produce.

Drink in the presence of the Lord. Receive the wisdom and knowledge He imparts. Daily drink in what He brings forth. The depths have been rent. He drips on us from the depths of His knowledge and abundance. Sit long enough to absorb the dew. How long does it take to be drenched and totally saturated? Stay until you are.

I love scriptures like this becasue they keep me headed the right direction.

I will not obey the lusts of my flesh. I will crucify my flesh.

Sin doesn't reign in my life, Jesus does! He is Lord, and I follow Him.

Luke 6:19 And all the crowd sought to touch him, for power went out from him and healed all.

"Healed all". God is good to all. He is no respecter of persons. In other words, what He does for one, He does for another.

Not to one that day did He say, "Sorry, I'm not healing you today. It's not my Father's will." No!

He's the same yesterday, today, and forever!
