We all do things regularily in which we are left wishing we had done something differently. I would hate for the people who make one of these choices to be lumped with those who regularily choose to do their own thing!

In the day of the internet...I dont see why they cant get their info from there.
So the Government should control what goes on in families?
The root cause of abortion is sin, plain and simple, whereas the mother chose to have immoral premarital sex and the nchose to murder her baby.
I chose "Other".
The words that comes to my mind is "lack of knowledge". Total unawareness of the complete wonder and miracle of creating a new life. What could be more important? More glorious?
I was very young, very poor, and in a very bad way. But the life inside me meant hope for the future. And as it turned out, he would be the only child I would ever give birth to. How happy I am I didn't abort him. But I could have. My best friend was also pregnant, and she had decided to get an abortion. She pressured me to get an abortion also. I'm so glad I didn't.
He is now 36 years old. And he has given me a beautiful grand-daughter.
Married woman have abortions too. And not all women chose it, some are the victims of rape. Should they be forced to carry their rapist's child?
.Satan is a liar and abortion can only be justified by lies.
Women who are raped do "choose" to abort their babes, it is not a foregone neccessity. A baby conceived in rape is just as much a baby as any other and they are entitled to their life.
This was OT, but I hope you're not expecting a public school to take the role of a parent, that can and never will happen.Strawman. That's nobody's attitude. Try "parents aren't, so schools must".

Actually, some would argue it already is. After all, these parents would argue, isn't it the parent's job to make sure the childThis was OT, but I hope you're not expecting a public school to take the role of a parent, that can and never will happen.

Gets an education
Is socialized (in whatever context you mean it)
Learns good manners
Learns conflict resolution
Eats well
Exercises
etc.?
What role does the public school system take that has not been fulfilled by parents before the pss existed?
Parents hire the pss to do these jobs, but all to often now simply assume they are being done well until there's a problem. The #1 complaint I've heard from teachers is that parents will not get involved in their student's education.
The parents have surrendered much of their role to the public schools.

If parents would do their jobs, most of the parenting issues in classes wouldn't be an issue there. Teachers are expected to teach way too much these days, imo.Public schools think of themselves now as "co-parents", their original job was just to teach children. The time spent in school has been static, teachers can't and shouldn't do all that.
Agreed. However, it seems that many parents expect just that from the pss. Most personality development occurs before the age of five, too late.
True. However, unless the other parent is dead, he/she is still accountable (before God if before no one else) to see to the raising of that child. Single parents have it rough, and I'll not disparage them. However, I will say that there are some of those, like all other segments of parents, who expect more from the pss than is right or is capable of fulfilling. And often, there's only one parent in the picture.
Unwanted pregnancy is the cause of abortions. What causes unwanted pregnancies? It seems to me that the answer to that question (and others like "what causes substance abuse which causes unprotected sex which causes unwanted pregnancy") would give you the root causes, which was the question.Unwanted pregnancy.
Yes they do....
When used consistently and correctly, condoms are 98 percent effective in preventing pregnancy.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), when used consistently and correctly, condoms reduce the risk of STDs, including Chlamydia.
In truth, HIV, the virus that causes AIDS, can be transmitted only through direct exchange of bodily fluids such as blood, sperm, vaginal secretions, or breast milk.
In truth, 97% of HIV cases are detectable by a test within three months of infection. 3 The CDC Hotline confirms that HIV cannot live in one's body undetectable for 10 years or longer.
