Why did God create humans?

Genesis 1:

28 God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”
Ecclesiastes 3:

13 And people should eat and drink and enjoy the fruits of their labor, for these are gifts from God.
From the human perspective, God created humans to enjoy the world.

From God's perspective, Colossians 1:

16 All things were created by him and for him.
Isaiah 43:

7 everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made.”
Psalm 100:

3 Know that the LORD is God. It is He who made us, and we are His; we are His people, and the sheep of His pasture.
Ephesians 2:

10 For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works
To do good works is to have faith in God.

God created humans to be his faithful people, to do good works for his glory, and to enjoy him, one another, and his created world.

Alien life on other planets

Initially, some Israelites thought that the LORD was only the God of the Hebrews. By the time of the exile, the prophets made it clear that the LORD ruled all peoples and all things.

The Bible does not assert the existence of intelligent aliens in one way or another. Neither does it exclude its possibility. Mark 16:

15 He said to them, “Go into all the world [G2889]and preach the gospel to all creation.
world G2889. κόσμος (kosmos), Thayer's Greek Lexicon:

3. the world, i. e. the universe
My paraphrase:

Go into all the universe and
preach the gospel to all creation

universe || creation

If there are moral agents on another planet, this will be the updated interpretation of the Great Commission.

As far as the gospel is concerned, aliens on another planet are no different from indigenous people in ancient Australia or China.

This is in the style of God's method of progressive revelation.

Does a dead person's soul experience time like a living person?

When a believer dies, will he be with God as a sentient being right away?

Assume that when a believer dies, his soul-spirit will immediately be present in heaven as a conscious person.

Does this 'dead' person experience time like a living person?

No. Living people experience time within the four-dimensional space-time framework. Further, people living in the International Space Station technically age slightly slower than people on Earth due to the effects of time dilation, a phenomenon predicted by Einstein's theory of relativity. Their passage of time slows down compared to that of people living on Earth. When P1 died 2000 years ago, time stopped with respect to P1. He could not sense time or space since then.

Jesus resurrected Lazarus in John 11. When Lazarus died, I don't think he went up to heaven to be with God as a conscious acting being. If he did, then Jesus would have to pull him away from God and return him back to his earthly body.

What about a wicked person who is destined for eternal condemnation? Will he be sent to hell to suffer before the last day of judgment?

If yes, then a wicked person who died 2000 years ago would have been tortured for 2000 years in hell according to some Christians.

No, he will be treated like anyone who has just died. When a person dies, he becomes unconscious, and his soul is stored in a secure place.

When a believer dies, will he be with God as a sentient being right away?

I doubt it.

How to get a wife

The following are not some good ideas. I actually did them, and it worked out for me.

  1. Study hard. Work hard.
  2. Save money. Don't indulge yourself except on special occasions.
  3. Seek God's kingdom first. Find a home church. Participate in the programs that you enjoy.
  4. Keep fit. Exercise regularly. Run a marathon. I ran a few. That was how I tried to deal with the sexual urges: redirection and marathons.
  5. I attended church every Sunday morning and evening. I also attended IVCF every Thursday and the Overseas Chinese Christian Association every Friday, as well as other Christian programs, Bible study groups, retreats, outreaches, etc.
  6. When did I start dating? When I was 25 years old, I thought I was ready. I had $6,000 (1985 CAD) in my bank account. I thought I could get my PhD degree, no problem. I thought I had the money and the spare time from my work and study. The very first time in my life when I asked a girl out, she said yes :) I didn't marry this one. A few years later, I met another girl who became my wife. She is the only woman that I have ever kissed.
  7. Godly women are attracted to a Christian man like that. Don't chase them, but let them come to you. When a woman shows interest in you, take the initiative and ask her out if you are interested in her.
  8. How important is a woman's virginity? It was a must for me, but it is up to you. Lady Diana was a virgin when she married. But then, she had an affair with the art dealer Oliver Hoare while being the husband of Prince Charles.
  9. How important is physical attraction? That depends on you. It was quite important for me, and I had a minimum requirement. It was a necessary condition but not sufficient. I was lucky. I ended up marrying the most beautiful girl that I had ever laid my eyes on.
  10. I didn't go out with a girl that I had no intention of marrying. Still, it is best to treat your Christian dates as sisters in Christ. This also means I was never interested in more than one girl simultaneously. By the way, I had never initiated dumping a girl either.
  11. Pray that you will marry the one who loves God and you the most. Pray regularly that God's will be done, overriding your own liking of women. Prayed particularly intensely before you ask a woman to marry you. I was 31.5 years old, a virgin, marrying another virgin.
Can you advise me on how to get to know my potential wife more deeply and intimately without living together first?

Sorry, I cannot. For that, I relied on God's guidance. See the last item above. I would not go out with a woman who was not a virgin.

Part Dog Myself

I love dogs so much. That is why I limit myself to only two of the. They live in the house and we treat them like family.
My neighbors break my heart when they leave there dog neglected outside. He cries and whimpers a lot.
Yes, he gets food and water but I am not sure about the vet. He is limping today.

I know I can't expect everyone to treat their dogs the way we treat ours. But it seems there can be a fine subjective line between just keeping a dog in the backyard and abuse/neglect.

Ancient Chinese writings of God and Jesus

Ancient Chinese emperors worshipped Shangdi (上帝). He was never represented either by images or idols. The rest of the Chinese populace (Buddhism and Taoism) worshipped idols.

Wiki:

It was during Ming and Qing dynasty, when Roman Catholicism was introduced by Jesuit Priest Matteo Ricci, that the idea of "Shangdi" started to be applied to the Christian conception of God.

How can we avoid the same mistake?

If the Jews had not changed the Name of God to Adonai, they would know that YHWH is a prophecy of Christ. The Muslims, too, would know, if they didn't change it to Allah. I suppose alot of western believers, I'm counting all those false gospels as well, would know that YHWH is Christ, if they had known the meaning of the Name.

So, what is this saying? By simply not knowing the Name of God - YHWH - and not understanding it's meaning, you can be derailed off into the wrong religion.

But for us who know the Name, how can we avoid getting derailed as those outside of the faith, and get into the fold we are supposed to?

2 Corinthians Verse 3:3 tells us we are the epistles of Christ ministered by the Spirit. Written, not with ink or even engraved in stone. But epistles made by the Spirit of the living God writing in the fleshly tables of our hearts.
We the Epistles of Christ were ministered by the Spirit which made us abled ministers of the New Covenant, whose sufficiency is of God and not of ourselves.

So what was written in the fleshly tables of our hearts? Or what is of the Spirit that has made us the epistles of Christ? Abled bodied ministers whose sufficiency is not of ourselves, but of God's Spirit? Why has God given us His Spirit?

As to why Ezekiel through God is pretty clear. He says that we will have God's Spirit to walk in God's statutes and keep, guard His ordinances and judgments. So where we walking? If not in the statutes for which the Spirit was given, then what spirit do we have?

Ezek 11:19 And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh:
Ezek 11:20 That they may walk in my statutes, and keep mine ordinances, and do them: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God.

Ezek 36:27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.

We know that there are two spirits in this world that govern the hearts of men. David through God said the Spirit of our Lord and God will make His words known unto us. So what if what we think we know in respect to His word doesn't align but contradicts with what has already been revealed? Like was seen in Ezekiel. We are given God's Spirit to walk in His Statutes and guard, keep His judgements and ordinances. What if we think differently? Who spirit is causing that?

Prov 1:23 Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.

Isaiah through God speaks of a covenant to which God's Spirit is upon us, and He has put His Word in our mouths and it shall not depart. But because of most departing from which has already been revealed His Word is no longer there, their own words are.

Isa 59:21 As for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the LORD; My spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed's seed, saith the LORD, from henceforth and for ever.

Moses through God in Deut29:1 speaks of this Covenant that Isaiah was moved to share. But in Speaking, God through him gives us more information. He says He will circumcise our hearts to Love the Lord our God that we may Live. With this circumcision, cutting away of our hearts He will put His Word in our mouths and hearts that we do it by His Voice, His Word. To which we are commanded to hearken unto. And this voice is saying that we are to keep His commandments and statutes contained in the Book of the Law. And turn unto Him in which have our do with our heart, and with all our soul. And His Voice, His Word is not in heaven or in the depths of the sea that we need send someone like Moses to get it. But as was said and confirmed by Paul in his paraphrase of these text in Romans 10:6-8. His Word, His voice is in our hearts and mouths that we do it.

However Take note in Deuteronomy 30:10. THE JUDGEMENTS are not mentioned as being that we keep in the hearkening unto His voice, His word that is in our hearts and mouths that we do them and Love Him with all our being.

Deut 29:1 These are the words of the covenant, which the LORD commanded Moses to make with the children of Israel in the land of Moab, beside the covenant which he made with them in Horeb.
Deut 30:10 If thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which are written in this book of the law, and if thou turn unto the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul.
Deut 30:11 For this commandment which I command thee this day, it is not hidden from thee, neither is it far off.
Deut 30:12 It is not in heaven, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go up for us to heaven, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?
Deut 30:13 Neither is it beyond the sea, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it unto us, that we may hear it, and do it?
Deut 30:14 But the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it.

Deut 30:6 And the LORD thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live.

So when we get to Jeremiah and His giving of the New Covenant, we should take note that in Deut 29-30 it was already given. Just in different words. And in these words we see what Law God has put in our hearts and our inward parts, minds that we need not teach our neighbor and brother to know the Lord. And that law is the Book of the Law with the statutes and commandments of our Lord and God.

The issue was and is today. Most do not accept it or keep in it. Therefore when Jeremiah speaks it through God, He states it as something in the future. In reality it was manifested in the future more so in Moses' ministry in Christ and in His disciples through His death and resurrection. But as was said most don't believe and stay within His guidance so here we are teaching our brother.

Jer 31:31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
Jer 31:32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD:
Jer 31:33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.
Jer 31:34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

If Hitler repented for his sins before he died, would he go to heaven?

James 2:

18 But someone will say, “You have faith; I have deeds.” Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds.
Mr. Hitler needed to show his faith through his deeds. Killing himself was not a sign of repentance.

The good news is that one of the two criminals repented on the cross before he died, Luke 23:

43 Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.”
Don't delay the decision. Don't wait until you are about to die. While alive, Matthew 3:

8 produce fruit in keeping with repentance.
If Hitler made a perfect confession in his head before he died, would he go to heaven?

God will judge his heart, not his perfect confession, whatever that means.

Why is Catholic dating so hard? Find answers at the NEC

(OSV News) — The Catholic Project, an initiative of The Catholic University of America, will host a panel on Catholic dating July 19 at the National Eucharistic Congress in Indianapolis.

The event — titled “Catholic Dating: Why Is It So Hard?” — seeks to fill a “gap in the programming (at the Congress) … for young professionals,” said Stephen P. White, executive director of The Catholic Project.

Addressing isolation among young adult Catholics

“There’s plenty of programming for families. There’s programming for young people. But we thought, ‘What about these 20- or 30-somethings?’ This is the age where a lot of Catholics find themselves isolated. You see people falling away from the faith at this stage,” said White.

For many Catholics who are single in their 20s and 30s, the topic of dating and finding a spouse is of particular interest. As reported previously by OSV News, Catholic weddings per year plummeted dramatically between 1970 and 2021. While much of the decline can be linked to a decline in church attendance and belief generally, even Catholic young adults who are engaged with their faith encounter significant obstacles to finding a Catholic spouse.

“Why is something that has been so natural for so long, the most natural thing in the world — boy meets girl, they fall in love, they start a family — why is that suddenly something that our society seems to be really struggling with?” said White.

The panel, which includes six unmarried Catholics, will discuss this question. To Sara Perla, communications manager for The Catholic Project, it was important to find panelists who are still single themselves, giving them a unique insight into the Catholic dating scene.

Social Media Posts for Pride Month? (For Christians)

Under the forum rules, we're not allowed to debate the morality of homosexuality, just it's political & cultural influence. So the assumption behind this post is, homosexual actions are inherently wrong, but the people who commit them are still (like us) sinners in need of redemption, sinners who are loved by God & should be loved by us, too.

With that in mind, "Pride Month" has begun, and my Facebook feed is filling up once again with posts about homosexuality--either posts about love & acceptance of these people & their actions, or posts that speak out against these actions, with little regard for the inherent dignity of the people who commit them.

What I want for this thread is things from a truly Christian, "hate the sin, love the sinner" perspective, things I can share on my wall that call out homosexuals as people who should be loved & accepted, while acknowledging that some actions are right & others are wrong.

The challenge is, I want things formatted well for social media, visually appealing with just a couple sentences. I'm attaching an example here of the pro-LGBT posts I see; I want something that matches the love & acceptance (and visual appeal) that it has, but with the Christian perspective, so it can't be confused with supporting the homosexual actions, too.

Screenshot_20240602-093847~2.png

My contribution is a link to Courage International, a ministry dedicated to accepting the LGBT community, without seeing their actions as "good". Website links aren't the best for social media, but perhaps someone here will appreciate it.

One Cup Of Salvation And Wrath

Psalm 75:8 For in the hand of the Lord there is a cup, and the wine is red; it is full of mixture;
and He pours out of the same: but the dregs thereof, all the wicked of the earth shall wring them out, and drink them.

"there is a cup"

Mat. 20:22 Jesus answered, “You do not know what you are asking. Are you able to drink the cup that I am to drink?” They said to him, “We are able.”

23He said to them, “You will drink my cup, but to sit at my right hand and at my left is not mine to grant, but it is for those for whom it has been prepared by my Father.”
"it is full of mixture";

2 Co 7:1 Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves
from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

James 3:
10 Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing.
My brethren, these things ought not to be so.
11 Does a spring send forth fresh water and bitter from the same opening?

"He pours out of the same"

Acts 2:17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God,
That
I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh...

Are You Living for Jesus Christ?

“Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says,
‘Today, if you hear his voice,
do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion,
on the day of testing in the wilderness,
where your fathers put me to the test
and saw my works for forty years.
Therefore I was provoked with that generation,
and said, “They always go astray in their heart;
they have not known my ways.”
As I swore in my wrath,
“They shall not enter my rest.”’
“Take care, brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to fall away from the living God. But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called ‘today,’ that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. For we have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original confidence firm to the end. As it is said, ‘Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.’” (Hebrews 3:7-15 ESV)

It is assumed that the apostle Paul wrote the book of Hebrews, so I will use his name as the author, but truly the author was God – Father, Son Jesus Christ, and Holy Spirit. And whoever it was who physically wrote down these words was just a servant of the Lord, a messenger of God whom God used to pen his words to us, his people.

Now the book of Hebrews appears to be written to the Hebrew Christians, which could have well included those who only professed faith in Jesus Christ but who were not committed to following him with their lives. For the wording indicates that these are those who are holy brethren, who share in the heavenly calling, and there is a warning here to them against falling away from the living God, which they could not do if they weren’t already in relationship with Jesus Christ. So it is safe for us to apply these words today to all who make a profession of faith in Jesus Christ as their Lord.

And the reason that we can safely apply these words to us who believe in Jesus Christ is that we are taught this kind of message all throughout the New Testament. For our salvation from sin is not a one-time decision we make to “believe in Jesus” and then we are good to go to heaven when we die, but regardless of how we live. For if our faith is genuine, we have died with Christ to sin and we have been raised with Christ to walk in newness of life in him, no longer as slaves to sin, but now as slaves to God and to his righteousness. But if sin is what we practice, we will not have eternal life.

So, if we have believed in Jesus Christ, in truth and in righteousness, then we are saved (past), we are being saved (present active), and we will be saved (future) when Jesus Christ returns for his faithful bride, which is when our salvation will be complete, and not until then, but provided that we continue in Christ in walks of faith and obedience to him and to his commands, and that we do not continue to walk in sin. For our salvation is progressive and it won’t be finished until we who are walking with him in obedience to him go to be with him for eternity.

And this is why, all throughout the New Testament, we are taught that we must walk (in conduct, in practice) in holiness and in righteousness and in obedience to our Lord and to his commands and no longer in sin if we want to have salvation from sin and the hope of eternal life with God. So what Hebrews 3 is teaching here is fully consistent with the whole of the teachings in the New Testament on the subjects of salvation from sin and eternal life with God. We must guard our hearts against getting spiritually lazy and slack, thinking our salvation is a sure thing, then end up falling away.

So we do need to pay close attention to these words, and we must guard our hearts against hardening our hearts against the Lord and against his commandments (New Covenant) and against falling back into sinful lifestyles, making sexual immorality, impurity, lying, cheating, stealing, and committing adultery, etc., what we practice, and not righteousness, and not obedience to our Lord, and not submission to him as Lord of our lives. For if we walk in deliberate and habitual sin, it won’t matter what we profess with our lips. We will not inherit eternal life with God.

So this is why we must exhort one another, as Christians, EVERY DAY, so that none of us may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. For we have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original confidence firm to the end. And the original confidence must be based in the truth of the Scriptures which teach that faith in Christ that is genuine results in us dying with Christ to sin and us now walking (in conduct, in practice) in holy living and in obedience to his commands, and not just once, but daily, in practice. So do not take this lightly, for walking in the truth results in eternal life with God.

Our Awesome God

On May 25, 2011, I was sitting on the sofa in the evening, spending some quiet time alone with God before I went to bed, and I was asking him to speak to my heart whatever he might want to say to me.

The words to one of the Psalms began going through my mind about praising God, so I walked over to the (piano) keyboard, sat down to play, and the Lord gave me this song about praising our awesome God.

As the Lord gave me the words, I sang them back to him in worship and in praise. The words read just like a conversation, which I was having with my Lord in which I was thanking him for who he is and for all that he has done for us in saving us and in providing us with the Holy Spirit to be our comforter and our counselor.

To Save Those Eagerly Waiting for Him

“Thus it was necessary for the copies of the heavenly things to be purified with these rites, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. For Christ has entered, not into holy places made with hands, which are copies of the true things, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God on our behalf. Nor was it to offer himself repeatedly, as the high priest enters the holy places every year with blood not his own, for then he would have had to suffer repeatedly since the foundation of the world. But as it is, he has appeared once for all at the end of the ages to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment, so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him.” (Hebrews 9:23-28 ESV)

I admit, when it comes to the book of Hebrews, I am no scholar. I find parts of it very difficult to understand, but other parts of it are much easier for me to follow. And I think a lot of that is because I was never a Jew and I obviously did not live on the earth at the time of Jesus’ death and resurrection, when God did away with the Old Covenant liturgical, ceremonial, sacrificial, purification, and dietary laws and restrictions, including the requirement of circumcision. So, I did not experience, as the Jews did, this transition from the Old Covenant to the New Covenant.

So, to the best of my understanding, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, I will share with you what I believe is the message here in this passage of Scripture that is for us today who believe in Jesus Christ to be Lord and Savior of our lives. And the main theme of the book of Hebrews, I believe, is to help the Hebrew Christians to transition from the Old Covenant to the New Covenant. So the author of Hebrews (possibly Paul) detailed for them how things were under the Old Covenant, versus how they are now under the New Covenant, to help them to make that transition, for it was difficult.

But that is not the only theme of the book, for it also talks much about holy living and self-sacrifice and what it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ. For example, in chapters 3-4 we learn that if we hear the voice of the Lord that we are not to harden our hearts as the Israelites did in the wilderness when the majority of them died because of their rebellion against the Lord and because of their deliberate and habitual sins against the Lord and their unwillingness to repent of their sins and to obey God. And so God said that those who rebelled and who did not repent would not enter his eternal rest.

We who believe in Christ are instructed here to exhort one another (within the body of Christ) every day so that none of us will be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. And if we hear his voice speaking to us that we are not to harden our hearts in rebellion against him. For if sin is what we practice, and not righteousness, and not godly living, and not obedience to our Lord and to his commands, then we will not have eternal life with God. We will not enter into his eternal rest because of our disobedience, which the Bible describes for us here as “unbelief.” So, belief in Jesus Christ = obedience, and if we refuse to obey the Lord, heaven will not be our eternal destiny.

Back to Hebrews 9.. under the Old Covenant the temple of God was a physical building where the Jews went to worship the Lord and to do what God required of them in the form of sacrifices and such. And they had human priests who made sacrifices to God for the forgiveness of people’s sins, but that was only temporary. But when Jesus Christ gave his life up for us on that cross, it was to die for all sins for all time so that we do not have to have human priests any longer to make sacrifices for our sins. And now the temple of God is Jesus Christ and the body of Christ, his church.

The Old Covenant requirements were just a shadow of what was to come, which was Jesus Christ (Colossians 2:17). Now Jesus Christ is our high priest. He entered into the “Holy of Holies” once and for all to make sacrifice for the sins of the people of the world, but not into that which was a physical place on the earth, but heaven itself. And he died on a cross taking upon himself the sins of the entire world for all time, and he put our sins to death with him so that by God-persuaded faith in him we might die with him to sin and now walk in holiness and obedience to his commands, by his grace.

Now when Jesus Christ came to the earth the first time it was to deal with sin, i.e. it was for the purpose that he would one day die on a cross, putting our sins to death with him, so that one day we would die with him to sin and be raised with him to walk in newness of life in him, no longer to live as slaves to sin, but now as slaves to God and to his righteousness. By faith in him we are crucified with him in death to sin so that we will no longer let sin reign in our mortal bodies. For if sin is what we obey, it leads to death. But if obedience to God is what we obey, its end is eternal life with God.

So, when Jesus comes back to the earth a second time, it is not to bear the sins of the world as he did the first time, but now it will be to save those of us who are eagerly waiting for him. But those of us who are eagerly waiting for him must be those of us who have died with him to sin, who are dying to sin daily, by the Spirit, and who are walking in obedience to his commands, in practice. For our salvation will not be complete until Jesus comes to take us home, and we will only go to be with him for eternity if we are living for him today in walks of obedience and no longer walking in sin.

For we are all going to stand before the Lord one day and he is going to judge each one of us according to our works, our deeds, our practices. And many will stand before him claiming him as Lord of their lives, and claiming all the things they did in his name, but he is going to say to them, “I never knew you. Depart from me you workers of lawlessness.” Why? Because, like the Israelites in the wilderness, they did not obey the Lord but they went their own way, instead, and they made sin their practice, and not obedience to the Lord Jesus. So repent of your sins today and obey Jesus.

Full Release

An Original Work / April 15, 2012

Walking daily with my Savior
brings me joy.
Loving Father; precious Jesus;
He’s my Savior and my Lord.
Gently leads me; follow Him.
I’ve invited Him within.
Now abiding in His presence,
oh, what peace.
From my self-life
He has brought me,
By His mercy, full release.

Hope and comfort,
peace and safety Jesus brings
When I daily bow before Him;
Obey freely; do His will.
Follow Him where’er He leads.
Listen to Him; His words heed.
Now obeying his words fully,
oh, what love
That He gives me
through salvation,
By His Spirit, from above.

Loving Father; precious Jesus,
He’s my friend.
With my Savior, by His Spirit,
I will endure to the end.
Share the gospel, tell what’s true.
Witness daily; His will do.
Tell the world of how their Savior
bled and died.
On a cruel cross He suffered
So that we might be alive.

Prayer for my idea

Hi,

I work for a company during the day, and I am planning to start a Christain computer game business. When praying about it I felt to involve other people, so I am trying to get people interested. The idea is two-fold, I to raise money for the poor, through an organization I support called Feed the Hungry, and secondly to make a little money on the side. Could you please pray that if the LORD is in it it will become successful? I also wish to make games that have a God element to them, to draw people to an interest in God. Please pray for creative ideas on how to do this.

The "political prosecution"

Well, I guess Republicans are back to calling Biden a criminal mastermind instead of a senile old man.
Pence is the latest.
Eye roll, please.
The purported mastermind orchestrated the NYC courts to prosecute Trump. Really?
And they claim this will make Americans distrust the courts.
No way.
In order, I distrust the courts because of:
Thomas' millions of dollars in patronage and his wife's coziness with conspiracy theorists
Alito's gifts and disrespect for the flag, fair elections, and our institutions
Their failure to recuse themselves on upcoming cases
Roberts' shielding his justices from accountability
Aileen Cannon's derailing a case which is unwinnable for Trump.
It disgusts me to hear sycophants denouncing a fair trial when they should be supporting a judicial accountability law with teeth.

Time on earth could be used for purging

For instance, take St mother Theresa and her feeling the absence of the Lord as her great trial after committing her life to making him happy by loving others. She originally felt him and the love, and then she did not. I do not think the Lord intended for her to be upset by it but rather. To use it. To miss him. To be put through a tough time desiring His love.

The souls in purgatory, have one thing in common, at judgment, feeling the presence of the Lord, his love, and then their Ardent desire to return to him.

Christain Artist - do you wish to help?

I am looking for people who may be interested in building a computer game. I am a Christian computer programmer with 20+ years of programming experience (but not in computer games). I have recently started to investigate games programming using Roblox. Roblox has great potential to be a money-making venture, but as with anything there is the potential for failure.

I am looking for Artists, 3D Object Creators, and Computer Programmers, preferably with Roblox or gaming experience.

This project will be initially unpaid, as I have no money. The way I plan to pay people is through royalties. Any money earned from this project will be split between the creators, based upon how many hours of work have been contributed. Before royalties are distributed, 50% of all royalties will be given to “Feed the Hungry”, a charity supporting people who don’t have enough to eat. The remaining royalties will be divided based upon work done on the project. As an example.

If the game earned $1000 dollars in a given month after taxes. $500 would be given to Feed the Hungry. The remaining $500 would be split between the creators.

If there was a 3D object creator and they had spent 100 hours on the game. 3 programmers who spent 125, 50, and 25 hours respectively. The money would be divided by the hours worked as a percentage every month the game makes money.

3D object creator 100 hours / 400 hours 25% of $500 = $125

Programmer 125 hours / 400 hours 31.25% of $500 = $156.25

Programmer 50 hours / 400 hours 12.5% of $500 = $62.50

Programmer 25 hours / 400 hours 7.25% of $500 = $36.25

Each month money is made from the game, it will be divided in a similar way. Payment will only end if the game no longer makes money, every month it makes money people who have worked on it get royalties.

This will be like any other paid work if a person does not perform to expectation they will be removed, but they will keep royalties for any work actually done. Note royalties will not be given for the first month of work if a person is put off due to poor performance. These first royalties will be paid if a staff member is retained. This is to prevent people abusing the system.

I am Australian based, and communication will be over zoom, and other communication platforms (slack if I can afford it).

Let me know if you are interested.

===== EDIT ======

Hi all interested parties,

I thought I would put this as a disclaimer at the top of this post, and post it in the thread. I have been considering the viability of this project. I really can’t see much profit being returned from the current venture. So I strongly discourage people from working on the project. However, if you wish it to be a skill building exercise, with a very minor, ability to get a little back, then feel free to continue. It is a real business, so you will have real working experience, but I doubt whether it will turn a big profit.
