Human rights group demands release of Nicaraguan pastor, family arrested amid worsening religious repression

Nicaraguan authorities have arrested a Protestant pastor and several of his relatives and associates in a police operation that took place last month. Rights groups are demanding their immediate release and warning of worsening religious repression in the country.

Pastor Rudy Palacios Vargas, founder of La Roca de Nicaragua Church Association, was detained along with seven others — his sister, Arely Palacios Vargas, her husband, Pedro José López, another sister, Jéssica Palacios Vargas and her husband, Armando José Bermudez Mojica, political activist Mauricio Alonso Prieto and his son, and a family friend, Olga María Lara Rojas — according to the U.K.-based group Christian Solidarity Worldwide.

Armed officers and masked individuals in dark clothing raided multiple homes in Jinotepe, Carazo Department, that evening, taking the eight individuals into custody without presenting warrants and seizing their phones and electronic devices.

Hamas releases video showing emaciated hostage in tunnel digging what he fears will be his grave

Families of hostages gather in Tel Aviv, Israel, on Aug. 2, 2025, marking day 666 since the Oct. 7, 2023, attacks. During the rally, attendees watch a newly released video by Hamas showing Evyatar David, an Israeli hostage, in a severely malnourished condition. The footage sparks emotional reactions among the crowd, deepening public outrage and intensifying calls for a ceasefire-hostage deal. Relatives hold photos of missing loved ones and wear yellow ribbons, demanding urgent government action to secure their release. The protest forms part of a broader movement that has maintained pressure on Israeli leadership as the hostage crisis persists. Demonstrators voice frustration over stalled negotiations and the humanitarian toll of prolonged captivity. The emotional impact of the video underscores the urgency of resolution, as hostage families continue to seek answers, accountability, and the safe return of those still held in Gaza.

An Israeli hostage held by Hamas in Gaza was seen digging what he described as his own grave in a new video released by the terrorist group. The footage shows the hostage, visibly starved and shirtless, inside a narrow underground tunnel.

The five-minute video, released Friday and later cleared for publication by the family, shows 24-year-old Evyatar David crossing out days on a makeshift calendar hung on the tunnel wall, describing his starvation and receiving a single can of beans that he says must last two days.

The footage includes scenes of David stating he has not eaten in several days and has barely had drinking water, saying, “This is the grave I think I’m going to be buried in. Time is running out,” accordingto news.com.au.

We’ll leave you with a bit more about Nizza and the show:

Jennifer Nizza knows what it means to discern — and confront — evil. Once trapped on the hampster wheel of the New Age for 25 years, she was radically saved out of the occult and bondage by Jesus Christ. Nizza was a psychic medium and a teacher of the occult, and, as a result, was demonically oppressed. She taught topics such as: the law of attraction, past life regression, automatic writing, tarot, and mediumship. Despite being deeply rooted in the occult, at the age of 36, she cried out to Jesus for the first time and became a Christian.

Suddenly, the darkness she was embroiled in was illuminated. She quit her job as a psychic, picked up her cross to follow Jesus — and hasn’t looked back. Nizza, author of the books “From Psychic to Saved” and “Out of the New Age and Into the Truth,” is now exposing the New Age, occultism, and paranormal deceptions through “The Ex-Psychic Saved Podcast.”

House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., arrived in Israel on Sunday, leading a delegation of House Republicans on his first foreign visit and first trip to Israel since he became speaker.

Johnson’s visit had been originally planned for June but was postponed due to the 12-Day War between Israel and Iran.
On Sunday, Johnson was joined by Texas Reps. Michael McCaul, Nathaniel Moran and Michael Cloud, along with Rep. Claudia Tenney, R-N.Y., during a visit to the Western Wall in Jerusalem to pray before meeting with Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz and Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar.

Rep. Nancy Mace joins SC governor race, promises to 'flip tables'

Rep. Nancy Mace, R-S.C., announced her candidacy for South Carolina's 2026 gubernatorial election Monday and appeared to liken her political goals to Jesus chasing the moneychangers from the temple.

Mace, who is in her third term representing South Carolina's 1st Congressional District along the state's southern coast, followed her announcement with a campaign policy event in Charleston at the Citadel Military College of South Carolina, where she was the first woman to graduate from its Corps of Cadets program in 1999.

"I'm running for governor because South Carolina doesn't need another empty suit and needs a governor who will fight for you and your values," she said. "South Carolina needs a governor who will drag the truth into sunlight and flip the tables if that's what it takes."

Just two weeks after breaking his back in a skateboarding accident, Christian music artist Forrest Frank says God has miraculously healed his injury.

The 30-year-old Frank, celebrated for his No. 1 Billboard Top Christian Albums debut “Child of God” and hit single “Good Day,” shared the update Saturday with his 1.7 million TikTok followers, in which he claimed to be completely pain-free after he slipped off his skateboard and landed hard on his lower back last month.

The fall, as demonstrated by X-rays and a CT scan shared by Frank, resulted in multiple fractures to his vertebrae. In a video posted Aug. 2 with a caption, Frank said, “I’m pretty much convinced God would’ve healed me day 1 from all these prayers, but He wanted these songs & this testimony [to] come to life. Regardless, I’m here for it all…ruined for the ordinary. THANK YOU JESUS.”

I would give you more.

But I feel like Watchman River guy is doing pretty good job, so no need for me to spam his news.

But I kinda feel like he missed this few points so I guess I can post those.

Hey!

How is everyone? I hope you're all doing great!

I was wondering if you guys could tell me what this might mean?

So several nights ago. In the middle of the night, my daughter, (5 years old) it was maybe between 2-4 AM. She struggles to go to sleep at night. There's times she'll stay awake until like 6-7 AM. But, that night she pointed up above the front door and said, "There's Jesus!" Then on the opposite side, she pointed over by the kitchen/dining room and said, "There's Satan." So I'm like, "Uh. " So I said something like, "If Satan is really in here, tell him to go away in the name of Jesus!" She got so scared and jumped up on my lap so fast and said she's scared.

Is the love of God isolating from this of neighbor ?

Hello.

I have the sensation the nearer i try and make myself from God, the more isolated i become from men.
Do you think the same, that it's possible it's not a mere sensation, please ?

After all, we live in dechristianised societies.
If societies reject God... This could bring about that, couldn't it ?

Marriage Advice Help

Hi Everyone,

I’m coming here because I need some advice. My marriage is in a tough place right now, and I’m scared it’s heading toward divorce. My wife and I have been seeing a counselor (not a Christian counselor), but we’re still so divided on many things.

One of the biggest issues is about having children. When we got married, we both wanted kids, but recently my wife told me she’s not sure she wants them anymore. That was painful for me to hear, but I’m trying to be understanding and compromise.

Another problem is communication. My wife often says that I don’t ask her about her feelings or open up enough. I was raised in a home where we didn’t talk about feelings, while her family has always been very open and emotional. I try hard to communicate better, but it feels like no matter what I do, it’s never enough.

I’ve recently started doing weekly check-ins with my wife where I ask her about how she’s feeling, how things are going with intimacy, and what I can do better. This has helped her feel more heard because I know I’ve struggled with communicating well, especially since I’ve also dealt with a porn addiction for most of my life.

Right now, I’m using Covenant Eyes and really trying to live in the light and stay accountable. But I haven’t been perfect. I messed up recently when Facebook reels showed me some explicit content, and I intentionally watched it, and she found it in my history. She felt completely betrayed, and I understand why. I’ve since deleted Facebook from my phone because that’s always been a weak spot for me. Facebook on my browser has accountability software, so I can browse safely. I made sure to tell her that I know I messed up and that I want to keep healing and fighting for purity.

But when we argue, she brings up all my past mistakes, the porn, my struggles with communication, or that I want someone who’s more intimate but less emotional. It really hurts because it feels like no matter how hard I try now, I’m still just the sum of my past failures in her eyes. I feel like the work I’m doing now doesn’t even get seen sometimes.

I want so badly for things to get better, and I’m trying to take real steps. I just wish she could see that I’m not the same person I was back then.

Recently, we got into a huge argument about politics. She said I don’t care as much as she does, and she wants a partner who shares her level of interest. I tried to explain that while I know it’s important, I just don’t feel as strongly as she does, and I wish that could be respected. But she this as not caring about what matters to her.

Finances are also a point of stress. We have a budget, and I try to explain where we are financially, but sometimes these conversations turn tense. She’s very unhappy in her job and vents about it daily, which adds more strain, and I feel the constant need to try and help her be happy.

Intimacy is another struggle. She’s unhappy with her appearance, so when I don’t initiate sex (and I'm scared too because of her unhappiness), she feels like it confirms her fears of being unattractive.

Another big source of pain for me is faith. In all this I have not been perfect either. I get angry easily because of all these things I feel like I'm juggling, I’ve said hurtful things and cursed when I shouldn’t have. I know that’s not how God wants me to behave, and I pray daily that He changes me.

I’ve asked my wife if we can talk to a pastor for help, but she doesn’t want the church involved. I feel so stuck because when I do try to communicate, it often feels like the blame is turned back on me. She says I should talk more about my feelings, but it’s exhausting for me because I’m already carrying so much at home, I do most of the cooking, cleaning, and caring for our dogs.

Lately, she brings up divorce a lot. She says she feels bad for me, like maybe I’d be happier without her. But I don’t want to give up. I’m scared, and I feel like I can’t talk to my church leadership because she doesn’t want them involved.

I feel alone and I really don’t know what to do to save this marriage. If anyone has any advice, I would really appreciate it.

Economist Milton Friedman argued that the massive Welfare Bureaucracy system in place in Canada and the USA was terribly flawed and needed to be replaced.

Dr. Friedman argued that replacing the Welfare System with Unconditional but Taxable Income Supplements would be the way to go because if these income supplements were dependent on somebody simply being a USA citizen or legal resident but have zero connection to their last year's income or last month's income, then very little bureaucracy would be needed.

I believe that women who choose to have an abortion often do so due to economic pressure and the stigma of facing life in our economy as a single mother.

I believe that a high percentage of abortions would probably be prevented in America and Canada set in motion Unconditional but Taxable Basic Minimum Income style Income Supplements.

The Church in Wales has named a new Archbishop who is openly in a same-sex relationship, drawing sharp criticism from the rights group Christian Concern. The appointment has ignited a debate over the Anglican denomination’s commitment to traditional biblical teachings.

The Rt. Rev. Cherry Vann, 66, the bishop of Monmouth, was elected as the 15th archbishop of Wales, becoming the first woman and first lesbian to hold the post. She was chosen by an electoral college composed of clergy and lay members after two days of deliberations at St. Pierre church near Chepstow, accordingto The Telegraph.

Her biography on the Church in Wales' website states that she lives with her civil partner, Wendy, along with their two dogs.

Two-state solution conference against Israel relies on Hamas’ lies

| Scott Olson/Getty Images

The latest world congress of antisemites concluded last Wednesday after world leaders once again reassured each other that those evil Jews are, in fact, starving children, and that therefore they must not be left to peacefully coexist, secure in their own sovereign nation. The outcome of the conference fully justified the Trump administration’s decision to boycott the conference, which it called “an unproductive and ill-timed … publicity stunt.”

Conference of antisemites

Of course, evil is never so blunt. Rather, Saudi Arabia and the recently radicalized France co-hosted a “High-Level International Conference for the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution” at the U.N. headquarters in New York City. But when world leaders discuss settling the “Question of Palestine” and implementing a “Two-State Solution” in a U.N. context, no one can miss their meaning.

The conference produced a seven-page document that endorsed a renewed effort to achieve a two-state solution between Israel and Palestinian Arabs. The plan insisted that Israel agree to an immediate ceasefire and prevent the starvation of children in Gaza, before it eliminated Hamas or effected the return of the remaining hostages. Seventeen individual countries, the European Union, and the Arab League all signed onto the document.

Pastor reacts to targeted shooting of church member: ‘It’s evil; it’s wicked’

'The worst day in public ministry'

A parishioner was shot and killed in broad daylight outside a church gathering in Seattle, Washington, prompting the pastor to describe the incident as “evil” and “wicked.” The victim, a 28-year-old father, was gunned down in front of other attendees during a worship event.

The shooting occurred Thursday evening outside The Pursuit NW’s Seattle campus, during a young adult ministry gathering, King5 reports.

Surveillance footage appears to show a gunman exiting a white vehicle, firing multiple shots at the man, then fleeing the scene by car.

The crisis at Baylor University over a $643,401 grant intended to study LGBTQ+ inclusion in churches poured over into the media last month, with the historically Baptist school returning the funds after public outcry.

The Eula Mae and John Baugh Foundation, which issued the grant, expressed frustration with the decision to backtrack after Baylor University President Linda Livingstone put out a statement announcing the monetary return.

"While acknowledging the importance of loving LGBTQ-identifying students at Baylor, Livingstone also suggested the grant effectively violated the school's stated sexual ethics," Christian Post reporter Jon Brown wrote.

Daughter (here on an R-2 religious dependent visa) of Anglican priest detained by ICE. Faith leaders are now standing behind her

Yeonsoo Go, a South Korean student at Purdue University and the daughter of a beloved Episcopal priest in New York, told a friend she was nervous about a visa hearing last week, given the stream of headlines about the Trump administration’s aggressive pursuit of immigration enforcement.

Her fears were realized when she and her mother left her hearing in Manhattan on Thursday to find US Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents waiting for her.

Go, 20, was arrested and placed in federal detention nearby, before eventually being moved – like so many recent ICE detainees – to a facility in Louisiana.

Now, church communities in New York and South Korea are condemning her treatment by US immigration authorities and rallying for her release.

[ICE says her R-2 expired 2 years ago.]

But an attorney for the Episcopal Diocese in New York, where Go’s mother serves as a priest, said Go’s current visa doesn’t expire until December, and Thursday’s hearing was part of her application to extend it.

    Votes: 1 33.3%

If you do a search for Dr. Cindy Jacobs "Word for Canada 2018" you will find a message that she gives in which she predicts that the USA and Canadian dollars will go to par value.

My background is a little different than hers and so I have been thinking and thinking and thinking and praying about all of this and now I finally feel ready to present a thesis from logic that the key to addressing many of the problems facing Canada and the USA and all Christians is to take another look at the writings of Economist Milton Friedman and begin to research and pray about the possible ways that taking the USA and Canadian dollars to par value could be a win, win, win, win, win scenario for three hundred and forty million Americans as well as for forty one million Canadians.

I will soon give you a link into the a summary of the book "Capitalism and Freedom" by Economist Milton Friedman that I believe should be researched and certainly prayed about.

x. The Distribution of IncomeFriedman examines the progressive income tax, introduced in order to redistribute income to make things more fair, and finds that, in fact, the rich take advantage of numerous loopholes, nullifying the redistributive effects. It would be far more fair just to have a uniform flat tax with no deductions, which could meet the 1962 tax revenues with a rate only slightly greater than the lowest tax bracket at that time.

xi. Social Welfare MeasuresThough well-intentioned, many social welfare measures don't help the poor as much as some think. Friedman focuses on Social Security as a particularly large and unfair system.

xii. Alleviation of PovertyFriedman regarded welfare programs as misguided and inefficient. To replace them, he advocates a negative income tax, giving everyone a guaranteed minimum income.

xiii. ConclusionThe conclusion to the book centers on how, time and time again, government intervention often has an effect opposite of that intended. Most good things in the United States and the world come from the free market, not the government, and they will continue to do so. The government, despite its good intentions, should stay out of areas where it does not need to be.

Police training materials label Moms for Liberty as extremist group

An organization in Massachusetts responsible for training tens of thousands of police officers in the state reportedly used training materials that labeled the parental rights group Moms for Liberty as an extremist group akin to Antifa.

The Massachusetts Municipal Police Training Committee (MPTC) mockingly placed Moms for Liberty's concern for "parents' rights" in quotations in their description of the organization, according to the training materials obtained by The Daily Wire.

Screenshots show the training material described Moms for Liberty as an "anti-government extremist" group, which was the label the Southern Poverty Law Center slapped on them in 2023.

  • No, Canada's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was too intelligent to be deceived in that way.

Or is it possible that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was taking advice from somebody so far up in CSIS that he was actually working toward making Joe Biden and Kamala Harris unelectable in 2024?

This seems like a strange theory but if we look back at these past nine years you might tend to become somewhat suspicious of what the very intelligent people in the life of Canada's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau were actually attempting to accomplish?

Could the CSIS connected members of the Liberal Party that Prime Minister Justin TRudeau was taking advice from have been out to back up President Trump and get him back into office by 2024 and was their goal to expose corruption in Ottawa as well as in Washington?

Perhaps this discussion would fit better in the "Conspiracy Theories" forum but when we look at this we cannot help but scratch our heads and wonder what in the world is happening.

Is Jesus exposing corruption within the governments of Canada and the USA?

Did Jesus set up the whole past nine years as a warning to all Christians about the future "Mark of the Beast?"

You all know that Adolf Hitler used the Nazi Party to spread rumours that special types of diseases could be spread by Jews and other groups of people that Hitler hated.

Canada tells us of Covid21 -the plan now what is coming

How is it relevant to consider ourselves, believers, as regards any degree of kingship with Jesus, when praying?

Ephesians 1, 5 speaks of us, believers, as children of adoption, through Jesus.

When in prayer, Should they subsequently consider them like some brothers of Jesus ?

Wouldn't the status of son be more appropriate ?
(since the believer is like a new born in Jesus)

Or none of these satus is right ?

What do you think, please
