A Catholic hospital in New Jersey has received a $75 million donation, the largest of its kind.

Holy Name Medical Center in Teaneck, New Jersey, announced Monday that it had received a $75 million donation from the Douglas M. Noble Family Foundation. The gift is the largest ever given to a Catholic hospital in the United States and the second-largest ever made to a hospital in New Jersey.

Michael Maron, the president and CEO of Holy Name, celebrated the donation, saying the hospital will use the donation “to tackle some of the most critical healthcare challenges facing our community in the decades to come.”

‘I will be with my Maker’: Pastors suffer life-threatening wounds in ambush attack by men wielding knives, axes

NEW DELHI — The father of one of 20 pastors ambushed in eastern India last month was soaked in blood from the attack when he told his son, “I don’t think I will make it. I just want you to know that I will be with my Maker, and you should not worry for me.”

He then collapsed, unconscious. The 52-year-old Sukra Madi was among the Christians hospitalized due to their injuries in the attack as the pastors were returning from an event to bless farm crops in Kotamateru village, in Odisha state’s Malkangiri District, on June 21.

Sukra Madi was beaten for his faith on June 21, 2025, in Kotamateru village, Malkangiri District, Odisha state, India.

Christian groups file new lawsuit seeking to stop ICE operations at church properties

A coalition of Christian groups and others filed a new lawsuit challenging the Trump administration's policy of allowing federal agents to conduct immigration enforcement operations on the properties of churches.

The latest legal challenge was filed Monday in federal court in Massachusetts and names the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and DHS Secretary Kristi Noem as defendants.

The lawsuit argues that, because of the Trump administration greenlighting federal agents to use church properties during enforcement operations in a bid to deport immigrants who entered the country illegally, many congregations "have seen both attendance and financial giving plummet."

Pastor allegedly strangled, threatened to rape and kill wife after his alleged affair

A Pennsylvania pastor was evicted from his home by police after he allegedly strangled, threatened to rape and then kill his "high school sweetheart" wife during an argument over an alleged extramarital affair.

Bishop Anthony Earl Pinkney, 47, who leads Bethel Commandment Church in York, is accused of battering his wife, Kisha, so badly she lost some of her hearing during an argument inside their Springettsbury Township home on July 3, according to an affidavit of probable cause cited by Penn Live.

While the church's website still lists Pinkney as pastor, it is unclear as of Wednesday if he still holds the position. Requests for comment from the church by The Christian Post went unanswered.

FBI launches investigation into brutal attack at Ohio music festival; JD Vance condemns 'mob of lawless thugs'

City council declines comment on councilwoman who wrote victims 'begged for that beatdown'

Federal investigators are looking into a brutal attack on a white couple following a concert event in downtown Cincinnati, just days after Vice President JD Vance condemned the attack.

The attack — captured in several viral videos on social media — showed what appeared to initially be a one-on-one fight near the intersection of West Fourth Street and Elm Street on July 26 during the Cincinnati Jazz Festival, according to Fox News.

Several of the videos show a predominantly black crowd kicking and punching a white man on the pavement, with one video (language warning) capturing the moment a man punched the female victim in the face, knocking her unconscious.

I believe that this may be one of the most important topics to find out more about if we are to overcome our lukewarm and rather lazy attitude.

I knew about this from the Bible but I found it really hit me hard when I read what a near death experiencer had been shown about why Jesus not only was scourged and crucified for us but he also went to hell itself until His resurrection.

Our salvation costed Jesus even more than I had imagined in the past.

What Jesus did for all of us was planned from even before the creation of Adam and Eve.

In reciting the Apostles Creed, the Christian faithful affirm that Jesus “descended into hell” following His crucifixion and death. This event is also sometimes known as the harrowing of hell.

[Near death experiencer Kevin Zadai Th. D.] : "Jesus shared with me about the time He spent in hell after dying on the cross. He said during the time He was cut off from the Father and the Holy Spirit, He experienced torment and punishment for everyone's sins so that we could escape the pain and punishment we deserve. no human being needs to go to hell because Jesus paid the debt created by all our sins.

He was extremely passionate when He talked about His anguish of separation from God. He said that He had to go deep within Himself to remember and rehearse His identity with the Father because circumstances were screaming the opposite.

ABANDONED BY GOD

Think about it: Jesus had never experienced a moment without the Father's presence until He was dying on the cross and uttered, "'Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?' that it, 'My God, My God, why have you forsaken Me?'" [Matthew 27:46] Satan thought he had defeated Jesus until He received the command from the Father to walk out of hell and take with Him the righteous dead. The Apostle Paul reported in the book of Ephesians, "When He ascended on high, He led captivity captive, and gave gifts to men" [Ephesians 4:8-9]. In Revelation 1:18, Jesus said of Himself, "I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore, Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death."

The Father promised Jesus that by His following through with the salvation plan, God would unite humanity with Him in a plan for their redemption. Jesus expressed to me with great emotion, in a broken voice, the anguish He went through for us and His great longing that I share its importance with everyone who would listen:
"And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Philippians 2L8-11."

[Heavenly Visitation, Encountering the Supernatural Jesus, Outreach Edition, Kevin L. Zadai Th. D., page 15 - 17].

About healing.

I know how to read, and the bible still says, if you have faith, you can receive, yes it can cost years of waiting and asking God, it could be there are obstacles, but
are people really going to make excuses and debate this? invalidating what the bible says, the word of God, says if you would believe and pray, you can get your miracle.

I am struggling with the other side's typical answers on issues.

Hi, I know I shouldn't say this on a Catholic forum, but I am making an honest effort to understand the other side's viewpoints on "faith alone" and "osas" and even though they can demonstrate their view by select verses, there are things that simply stick out to me and I notice they do not have good answers on. I want to know if I'm losing my mind.

- John 15 where Jesus is talking about how we are the branches and that whoever does not abide in him (or doesn't bring forth fruit) is cast out as a branch and burned. It looks like faith alone and osas clash with this.
- 1 John 2 where it says that whoever says they have faith but does not keep his commandments is a liar and the truth is not in him. If faith alone is correct, then why does not keeping the commandments cause a man to not have the truth in him? "Not having the truth" makes it look like you are not a Christian.
- Luke 18 where someone asks him what must he do to inherit eternal life, and Jesus says how to obey the commandments but on top of that, sell all you have and give to the poor. (Ok someone here will ask if I've done this - no, but I keep wondering about this statement)
- Matthew 19 where Jesus says that if you want to enter life, keep his commandments.
- Galatians 5:19-21 where Paul lays out specific sins that bar you from the Kingdom of God, and he is speaking to believers.
- 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 where Paul does the same thing as in Galatians
- Revelation 22:19 where God will take away certain people out of the Book of Life. A pastor I was watching said that this doesn't mean losing salvation, it means that God decided never to put that person's name in the Book in the first place, but I'm not convinced.
-Colossians 1:23 "if you continue in the faith"
- Romans 11:22 where if don't continue abiding in God, we will be cut off

The problem is, you bring things like this up to the other side and they will most likely get upset at you and say the same buzz phrases like:
- You are adding to the finished work of Jesus
- The Bible says we are saved by faith alone
- You are trying to maintain your salvation by works and not by trusting in Jesus
- Works don't save you, works show you are saved
- We are saved by faith only but true Christians will demonstrate it with works but works have nothing to do with salvation (whaaaaaat)
- Galatians/Corinthians "sins that bar you" were only for unbelievers, but the problem with that is, if unbelievers don't have to repent of sin to be saved (according to them), then there's no need to tell unbelievers that those sins bar you. You just need to get them to believe.
- Jesus words for only for the Jews in the Millennial Kingdom, not for Christians. Jesus taught a works-based Gospel for the Jews and Paul taught a faith-based one for the Gentiles and in the Millennial Kingdom, works-based salvation is coming back and that's what Jesus' commands about obedience are for. They aren't for us!
- Ok, then, what works do you need to be saved?
- We are putting verses out of context and not interpreting Scripture with other Scripture

https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/restoring-america/community-family/3486366/wyoming-rethinking-education-from-ground-up/

Wyoming already has school choice, and we are currently defending a state voucher program. These are both hot national topics, but Wyoming’s desire for excellence goes far beyond simple politics. The work is not about public vs. private schools or tradition vs. innovation. Rather, it is built from the ground up, ensuring every student has access to a high-quality education, no matter where they live or how they learn. It’s a pretty simple concept, really, that requires talent, commitment, and passion, but aren’t those the characteristics of the great teachers we have had the blessing of learning from in our own histories?

They are getting off to a great start!

FDA’s top vaccine official Vinay Prasad leaves post after less than four months

Prasad, an oncologist and a professor of epidemiology, biostatistics and medicine at the University of California, San Francisco, had previously criticized the FDA.

He was a fierce critic of US Covid-19 vaccine and mask mandates and, in the second Trump administration, he was controversially appointed as the director of the FDA’s center for biologics evaluation and research in May.

The government gave no details about the reason for his departure but he had fierce critics on both sides of the political aisle and the Washington Post reported, citing unnamed sources, that he had been ousted amid protests by conservative voices, with no response from Prasad to requests for comment.

[joking about having a Donald Trump 'voodoo doll' may have contributed to his exit, according to reports in the US media.]

His exit came after a number of unusual regulatory actions, including those taken recently by the agency on Sarepta Therapeutics’ gene therapy, Elevidys.

[And declining to approve some other drugs and downplaying COVID vaccination.]

The regulator’s decisions under Prasad raised concerns that he was anti-patient choice, Jefferies analyst Roger Song said, adding that investors will see his departure as a positive for gene therapy and vaccine makers.

Why Christians still need deliverance from demonic oppression

In recent years, there has been a growing silence in the modern church around one of the most critical ministries Jesus modeled: deliverance. While salvation is the cornerstone of our faith, the Bible makes it clear that many believers still walk in bondage — spiritually, emotionally, and even physically. The question we must ask ourselves is this: If Jesus cast out demons as part of His ministry, why has the Church become so hesitant to do the same?

Deliverance is not a fringe doctrine. In Mark 16:17, Jesus said, “And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils…” The ministry of deliverance was never meant to be an occasional intervention — it was intended to be a consistent demonstration of Christ’s power and compassion. Yet, many Christians today suffer silently, tormented by fear, anxiety, generational curses, and spiritual oppression, all while being told that believers cannot be afflicted by demons.

As a deliverance minister and pastor, I have witnessed firsthand how demonic oppression hides in plain sight — even within church walls. People who love the Lord, read their Bibles, and serve in ministry can still be plagued by nightmares, addiction, sexual torment, and even suicidal thoughts. They do not need judgment, they need help. They need freedom. They need Jesus, not only as Savior but also as Deliverer.

Now is the time to end organ harvesting from “dead” donors...

Catholics are called to be at the forefront of defending human life–let’s stand together to protect this vulnerable population.

recent article in The New York Times (NYT) titled “A Push for More Organ Transplants Is Putting Donors at Risk” uncovered that 55 medical workers in 19 states “had witnessed at least one disturbing case of donation” using an organ harvesting technique called “donation after circulatory death” (DCD).

The article highlighted multiple cases of organ retrieval either beginning or nearly beginning on living patients, one of whom recalled feeling afraid while in the hospital.

The NYT quoted Dr. Wade Smith, a neurologist at the University of California, San Francisco, as stating: “I think these types of problems are happening much more than we know.”

In addition, the Health Resources and Services Administration, a part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), reported in its recent article “HHS Finds Systemic Disregard for Sanctity of Life in Organ Transplant System” that in 351 cases where organ donation was authorized but ultimately not completed:

  • 103 cases (29.3%) “showed concerning features, including 73 patients with neurological signs incompatible with organ donation.”
  • At least 28 patients (7.9%) may not have been dead at the time organ harvesting was initiated.
This disregard for patient safety was characterized as “clear negligence.”

Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. posted on X “There have been massive ethical breaches in many organ transplant cases….” He wrote that some “dead” donors had blood pressure and heart rate elevation at the time of organ harvesting, indicating they could feel pain.

10 Things You Should Know About the Psalms...

The word “Psalm” comes from the Greek word for a “song” (psalmos), which is itself a translation of the Hebrew word for a song or melody. In Jewish tradition, however, the book of Psalms is known simply as the “Praises.” Here we’ll explore ten different facets of this extraordinary collection of hymns and prayers.

1) The Psalms are split into five books. In their book A Catholic Introduction to the Bible: The Old Testament, Scripture scholars John Bergsma and Brant Pitre offer the following breakdown:

  • Book 1: Introduction and Laments of David (Ps 1-41)
  • Book 2: The Rise of the Davidic Kingdom (Ps 42-72)
  • Book 3: Fall of the Davidic Kingdom (Ps 73-89)
  • Book 4: Reflections on the Fall of the Kingdom and Exile(Ps 90-106)
  • Book 5: Rejoicing and Restoration of the Temple (Ps 107-150)

2) The Psalms have multiple authors. While King David wrote the largest number of psalms, many were written by other authors such as King Solomon, a figure named Asaph, or a group known as the Sons of Korah. Even Moses is credited with having written one of the Psalms (Psalm 90).

3) The Psalms frequently use parallelisms. The Psalms are works of Hebrew poetry, but they don’t rhyme in the way that English poetry does. The metrical patterns in the Psalms are also unclear to modern scholars. But what we do find repeatedly in the Psalms is the literary technique of parallelism. Very frequently the Psalms are organized so that two or more verses are supposed to be read either as complements or as contrasts.

All Meals in Yet Another German School Will Be ‘Halal’

Some Gelsenkirchen students, regardless of faith, will now be served the food that the Muslim community demands.

After a daycare center in Lower Saxony recently raised the hackles of parents by only serving sausages from halal-slaughtered animals, now a school in Gelsenkirchen, North Rhein-Westphalia, is also bowing to the demands of the Muslim population when it comes to food offerings. Starting next school year, Erle Comprehensive School will serve only halal meals, according to an announcement on the school’s website, Junge Freiheit reports. The catering company providing lunches for the school also supplies nine other schools in the city, all of which will now serve only meat prepared according to Islamic slaughter rules.

Around 60% of students in Gelsenkirchen have a migration background, with some districts seeing even higher numbers. Pork has already been banned in all schools since 2010, following a decision by the city’s food advisory board.

Other schools in Germany, including a special needs school in Baden-Württemberg, have also shifted to halal-only menus.

Experts have long predicted this trend, which follows the massive inflow of migrants from Muslim countries. In 2016, a former vice president of the German Nutrition Society said pork would gradually disappear from school menus. This is already happening, especially in areas with large Muslim populations like the Ruhr region.
