  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Fact Check Team: Millions of migrants voluntarily leave US

"Research from the Center for Immigration Studies estimates that each illegal immigrant generates an average lifetime net fiscal cost of $68,000, calculated as the difference between public services received and taxes paid. Multiply that by 1.6 million, and the long-term cost of supporting these migrants would be roughly $109 billion.
Put simply, spending $1,000 per person upfront is a tiny fraction—about 1.5%—of what it might cost to support them over a lifetime." SEE VIDEO

This is a great start.

Leaders of California religious group (His Way Spirit Led Assemblies) arrested after two members go missing

A husband and wife who run an Inland Empire religious group have been arrested and automatic weapons and ghost guns were seized by Redlands police as part of an investigation into how a former follower of the group disappeared two years ago under suspicious circumstances.

Emilio Ghanem disappeared in May 2023 shortly after he left the Hemet-based His Way Spirit Led Assemblies and opened a pest control company; the business was a rival to one run by the religious group’s leaders. Authorities are also searching for a second man associated with the group who vanished in 2017.

Two of the leaders of the Assemblies group were arrested Aug. 14. Pastor Darryl Muzic Martin, 57, of Hemet, and his wife, 62-year-old Shelly Bailey “Kat” Martin, were arrested on suspicion of possessing illegal weapons. The wife, whom the Assemblies described as the prophetess, was later released following an unspecified medical episode, police said.

Earlier in the month, police served search warrants at homes in Hemet and Anza. Two [more] people were arrested on [various gun charges].

During the Hemet and Anza searches, detectives found “several illegal firearms, including converted fully automatic rifles, short-barreled rifles and unserialized ghost guns along with electronic devices and other digital evidence,” according to police.

Opened Doors

Shalom

Can you please pray for me that the Lord will open (heart)doors so that I can share the gospel and bear witness for Him.
And that He will grant me wisdom on how to be a fisher for men in Jesus' name?

May the Lord bless you abundantly (Luke 6:38, Job 42:10) and may He bless Israel in Jesus' name. Amen!

Soli Deo Gloria

PS And I pray that the Lord will send out harvesters into His harvest (Matthew 9:38).

For The Life of The World

Jesus said, “I am the living bread that came down out of heaven; if anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread also which I will give for the life of the world is My flesh.”
Then the Jews began to argue with one another, saying, “How can this man give us His flesh to eat?” So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in yourselves. He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. For My flesh is true food, and My blood is true drink. He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him. As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who eats Me, he also will live because of Me. This is the bread which came down out of heaven; not as the fathers ate and died; he who eats this bread will live forever.” (John 6:51-58 NASB1995)

Another word for the word “eat” is partake, which means to take part in, to participate in, to join in with. Spiritually speaking it has to do with fellowship with Christ, which is participation with Christ in his death, burial, and resurrection via us dying with him to sin and us being raised with him to walk in newness of life in him, no longer to live as slaves to sin, but as slaves to God and to his righteousness. For the word fellowship also means participation, sharing, contribution, and partnership. We have a part in him.

For in Jesus’ death and resurrection he put our sins to death with him, and he rose victorious over sin, death, Satan, and hell, on our behalf, so that by faith in him, which comes from God, we will now die with him to sin and walk with him in obedience to his commands in holy living. And this is what he was talking about here, too. We must participate with Christ in death to sin and in being victorious over Satan and hell, by faith in him, which results in obedience to him and us no longer living under the control of sin.

And another word for “drink” is swallow, which means to believe, to accept, and to allow. And Jesus’ blood represents his life given for us on that cross, whereby he took upon himself the sins of the world and put them to death with him so that, by faith in him, we will now give up our lives of sin and selfishness and pride in order to now live for him and for his purpose and his glory. So, what Jesus was saying is that we must die with him to sin, and now walk in obedience to his commands, for us to have eternal life in him.

But it goes beyond just death to sin and walks of obedience to our Lord’s commands, but it has to do with our daily fellowship with him and our daily participation with him in his death and life by how we live our lives day in and day out for him, in fellowship (participation) with him in his work and in his will that he has for our lives. For our faith in Jesus Christ, if it is biblical faith, means that we join with Christ in marriage to him, and he now becomes our husband, and we become his bride, and he is now our life.

So, this isn’t about just praying a prayer to receive Christ so that when we die we get to go to heaven and not to hell. This is about Christ becoming our life, with us in him, and him in us, and him living his life now through us as we cooperate and participate with him in his work on this earth. We become one with him in mind and heart and purpose, and we now live our lives for him and for what he wants, and no longer for self and what we want. He is now master of our lives and our lives are now surrendered to his will.

And, as those who participate with Christ in his death and resurrection, via us dying with him to sin and being raised with him to walk in newness of life in him, no longer as slaves to sin, but as slaves to righteousness, we will also suffer with him in being persecuted for the sake of his name and for the sake of righteousness, and for the sake of the gospel. Especially if we are sharing the truth of the gospel in a day when many are believing Satan’s lies, we will suffer if we confront the lies and if we speak the truth.

CDC Head Ousted

Susan Monarez, the longtime government scientist recently confirmed as director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), has been let go from her position after less than a month in the role.
A source familiar with the situation confirmed to The Hill that Monarez was ousted as CDC director. The Senate confirmed her July 29.
...She came to the role with glowing commendations from former colleagues who described her to The Hill as “data-driven,” nonpartisan and an excellent coordinator of public-private partnerships. During her time as acting CDC director, however, it was reported that Monarez did not push back on the White House’s directive to remove CDC pages containing the terms “LGBTQ” and “transgender” and did not seek to preserve crucial data that was taken down.

Oh, "data-driven" - that explains the problem...

Kilmar Abrego Garcia files new bid to stay in the US

The Salvadoran man who was illegally deported in March has reasserted his claim for asylum.

The Salvadoran man at the center of the most highly publicized case in President Donald Trump’s mass-deportation drive, Kilmar Abrego Garcia, is seeking to remain in the United States by renewing his bid for asylum.

Lawyers for Abrego filed a motion reasserting his asylum claim in immigration court Monday afternoon, hours after Abrego was taken into custody following a “check-in” with immigration officials he was ordered to attend.

Abrego’s attorneys revealed the new move publicly in a court filing Tuesday in a federal lawsuit he brought this week seeking to block the Trump administration from deporting him to Uganda, a country his lawyers say he has no ties to and where he could face new dangers.

A $100 Sign of a Father’s Love at Cracker Barrel

Providential reminders are often subtle — even hidden in the math of a Cracker Barrel check

Since Cracker Barrel is in the news these days, I thought I’d relate a cute story that — somewhat uniquely — has nothing to do with the logo.

The year after my father died, Lisa and I drove from Florida up to Virginia with a few of our children to visit my mom.

Over the days we were with her, my mom kept saying that my dad had left some cash and she wanted us to take it to pay for some of our travel expenses. I kept resisting her offer. She tried to hand me a few $100 bills, but I kept handing them back to her.

But after she had mentioned this to me several times over several days, I had an idea.

You see, my dad loved Cracker Barrel — and everything about it. For a number of years, my dad would take my mom on a regular Thursday evening date to Cracker Barrel.

If someone asked me on a random Thursday night where my mom and dad were, I’d tell them, “It’s Thursday. They’re at Cracker Barrel.”

Mom speaks out after daughter encounters naked sex offender in school locker room

A mother whose 9-year-old daughter encountered a naked male trans-identified sex offender in a school locker room spoke out at a Virginia school board meeting last week.

Jen McDougal was among several parents who spoke during the Arlington County School Board meeting last Thursday. The mother said that a year had passed since her family stopped registering for swim lessons at Washington Liberty High School in Arlington after an incident involving her then-9-year-old daughter.

“Last September, my daughter and I walked into the locker room, and a biological male who identifies as transgender and who also happened to be a registered sex offender, was standing there completely naked with no regard for the other patrons, among whom were at least a dozen little girls," McDougal stated.

The mother learned after the incident that multiple women had previously complained about Richard Cox, but no concrete actions were taken. McDougal declared that Cox's admittance into multiple Arlington County facilities is an example that the school division's locker and restroom policy is a failure.

United in prayer: A litany to be prayed after a school shooting

August 27, 2025 at 04:24 pm ET

In times of tragedy, the Church turns to prayer. The Catholic Church believes that prayer can effect real change — not just in the heart of the person praying but in the world. The Catechism of the Catholic Church states: “Prayer and Christian life are inseparable” (CCC, 2745) and that prayer is a “vital necessity” (CCC, 2743).
Here is a litany to be prayed after a school shooting.

Police confirm shooter’s identity as 23-year-old Robin Westman

August 27, 2025 at 04:04 pm ET

At a 3:30 p.m. ET press conference, Police Chief Brian O’Hara confirms the shooter’s identity as 23-year-old Robin Westman, born Robert Westman.

“We have to be men and women of hope,” Minneapolis Archbishop Bernard Hebda says at the conference.

As a bell begins to ring, he says: “A bell in the Catholic Church is always a call to prayer. It’s a reminder for us to be praying. And we have to recognize that it’s through prayer … that we can indeed make a difference. That has to be the source of our hope.”

Principal Matt DeBoer says that staff and teachers were heroes during the shooting.
“This is a nightmare. But we call our staff the dream team. We will recover from this,” he says.

“We lost two angels today. Please continue to pray for those still receiving care. We can’t change the past. But we can do something about the future,” he says.

Trump team has fined immigrants who didn’t self-deport $6 billion — and now it’s coming to collect

The process is permitted under a law passed by Congress in 1996 as part of a wider immigration package. But over the last three decades, threats of fees — which can now reach up to $998 a day — have rarely been enforced. Officers instead focused on removal, rather than adding another layer of punishment.
But that changed under Trump, largely because the process for sending out threatening fines with potentially financially disastrous results is much easier, according to the American Immigration Council, an immigration policy research group.

This should go further toward reducing our deficit.

INVESTIGATORS HAVE 'STRONG INDICATION' OF WHERE BABY EMMANUEL HARO'S REMAINS ARE LOCATED

RIVERSIDE, Calif. (KABC) -- San Bernardino and Riverside county officials discussed the presumed death of baby Emmanuel Haro one day after his parents were charged with murder, saying they believe he was abused over time.

Riverside County District Attorney Mike Hestrin, along with Sheriff Chad Bianco and San Bernardino County Sheriff Shannon Dicus and others, provided details of their investigation during a news conference Wednesday.

Authorities have not recovered the 7-month-old's body, but Hestrin said they have a "strong indication" of where his remains are located. They also believe that Emmanuel was abused over a period of time by his parents and eventually succumbed to those injuries.

"It's appropriate to have a press conference, because it was the defendants in this case that had a press conference first," Hestrin said. "They did so in order to tell the public, the media and ultimately law enforcement that their child had been kidnapped - when in fact that's not what occurred."

Ten least crime ridden cities in the USA.

Bill Gates Reportedly Turns Off Money Spigot For Left-Wing Dark Money Network

Arabella notably manages a variety of dark money funds that funnel hundreds of millions of difficult-to-trace dollars into left-of-center political organizations and advocacy groups. In 2022, Arabella raised over $1 billion and poured millions into liberal causes nationwide, the Daily Caller News Foundation reported in November 2023.

The Gates Foundation said in a statement provided to the NYT that its decision to sever ties with Arabella was “a business decision that reflects our regular strategic assessments of partnerships and operating models.”

Democrat Catelin Drey wins Iowa Senate special election, breaking Republican supermajority

Drey won with 55% of the vote to Republican Christopher Prosch's 44%, according to unofficial results from the Woodbury County Auditor's Office.

Gov. Kim Reynolds called the election to fill a vacancy in Iowa Senate District 1 after Republican Sen. Rocky De Witt died of pancreatic cancer in June. [De Witt won in 2022 with +10% over his D challenger.]

With Drey's win, Democrats now hold 17 seats in the 50-member Senate to Republicans' 33 seats — enough to break the two-thirds supermajority the GOP has enjoyed since the 2022 election.

[Other recent Iowa Democratic wins] include Democrat Mike Zimmer's surprise victory in a January special election for an eastern Iowa Senate seat

Border Patrol agent accused of drunkenly attacking Long Beach police after entering women's bathroom is found dead at home

[Isaiah] Hodgson was “off-duty, intoxicated and armed with a handgun” at a restaurant in the Shoreline Village area of Long Beach when he approached a female in the women’s restroom, according to a statement issued last month by the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office. The woman complained to restaurant staff, who asked Hodgson to leave because guns were not allowed inside the eatery.

Long Beach police responded to the scene and contacted Hodgson, who fought with officers as they tried to detain him. Officers eventually subdued him with a stun gun, according to a Long Beach Police Department spokeswoman. Hodgson “refused to provide employment information” when questioned by officers, one of whom suffered a minor injury during the scuffle, police said.

[He was arrested and charged, but last Friday] “When deputies arrived, they located the male and pronounced him deceased. Deputies did not locate any evidence of foul play,” the statement read.

Powell admits Trump was right

What Fed must do now after Jerome Powell's Jackson Hole epiphany

Last Friday in Jackson Hole, Federal Reserve Chairman Jay Powell finally – and grudgingly – admitted what the Trump team has been saying all along: tariffs don’t fuel inflation.
At most, tariffs create a one-time adjustment in prices, not the kind of runaway spiral that demands punishing rate hikes. And even that one-time bump may be negligible if, as we have long argued, foreign exporters – not American consumers – shoulder most or all of the burden.

Worse than Antifa: Inside the new breed of ultra-extremist groups dedicated to chaos, violence — and even alleged murder ***caution - link contains video of vulgar language

The far-left radical movement known as Antifa has been getting its own taste of cancel culture.

Just look at what happened on Aug. 19 in Brooklyn’s Crown Heights neighborhood. Masked, fist-clenched agitators belonging to the anarchist collective turned up to sow chaos — but locals banded together to confront the troublemakers, telling them to get lost.

Experts who track domestic terrorism and extremist movements aren’t surprised: Once the face of a grassroots leftwing insurgency, Antifa has lost its spark.

But experts warn that could be a dangerous thing — as the vacuum has given way to even more fringe and violent offshoots that are coalescing in the Marxist ether. And we’re only beginning to see the deadly fallout.

Suspect ‘contained’ after shooting reported at Minneapolis Catholic school: authorities

Authorities say a suspect has been “contained” after a shooting occurred at a Minneapolis Catholic school on Wednesday morning.

Gov. Tim Walz said on social media that he had been briefed on a shooting at Annunciation Catholic School, located on the city’s south side. Police told local news outlet KARE that an active shooter allegedly opened fire at Annunciation Church.

It’s unclear if students, who had their first day of classes on Monday, were in the church at the time. The pre-kindergarten through eighth-grade school had an all-school Mass scheduled at 8:15 a.m. Wednesday morning, according to its website.

Cliffe Knechtle, Tucker Carlson discuss hope for revival amid 'demonic' moral relativism

'Young people are taking Jesus more seriously'

Prominent Christian apologist Cliffe Knechtle recently discussed the reality of spiritual warfare with Tucker Carlson, noting he discerns a growing spiritual hunger among many young people who have been left reeling amid moral relativism and personal brokenness.
"I am very excited the way young people are taking Jesus more seriously," said Knechtle, who has been preaching on college campuses for 45 years and serves as senior pastor at Grace Community Church in New Canaan, Connecticut.

Knechtle's viral exchanges with often hostile college students have swelled his YouTube channel "Give Me an Answer" to more than 890,000 subscribers.

During a wide-ranging, two-hour interview with Carlson released this week, the two discussed the nature of the spiritual war that has manifested in what they characterized as the unprecedented scale of moral relativism in modern society.
