  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

This poll is mostly for the Democrats here. I'm interested to see in who you would pick to replace Biden. If it's someone not listed, please share below. This is a sincere post :)

Was Kamala aware of Joe’s decline?

Was Vice President Harris aware of President Biden’s decline?

If she was, what does that say about her, especially since she said she would say something to the American people if the president declined too far.

If she wasn’t, is she really the person to lead this country?

Healing For My Family

Hello brothers and sisters, I would like to ask if you could please say some prayers for me and my family. My mom's had a lot of health issues over the past three years, and there's been something going on with me for months that often keeps me awake at night. It's getting very frustrating and difficult to deal with for all of us.

Thank you and God bless.

Donations rolling in for the Democratic Party

Democrats greeted President Biden’s departure from the presidential race with an avalanche of cash, donating more than $50 million online on Sunday and making it the single biggest day for online Democratic contributions since the 2020 election — with hours to go.
The huge amount is based on a New York Times analysis of the online ticker of contributions maintained by ActBlue, the leading site processing Democratic donations.
With Mr. Biden gone and Vice President Kamala Harris building momentum to claim the nomination, Democrats went online to contribute at a startling pace. Donations spiked from an average of less than $200,000 per hour in the hours before Mr. Biden quit to nearly $11.5 million in a single hour later on Sunday, the analysis shows.
As of 10 p.m., Sunday was ActBlue’s third biggest day for online donations in its history.

If Jesus had all authority with Father from the beginning, why was more authority given to him in Mt 28:18?

After the resurrection, near the end of the book of Matthew, Jesus said in 28:

16 Meanwhile, the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain Jesus had designated. 17 When they saw Him, they worshiped Him, but some doubted.
Some realized Jesus' divinity.

18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me.
has been given
Ἐδόθη (Edothē)
Verb - Aorist Indicative Passive - 3rd Person Singular
Strong's 1325: To offer, give; I put, place. A prolonged form of a primary verb; to give.

Didn't the pre-existent Christ have all authority before?

Right. Php 2:

6 Who, existing in the form of God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped,
The human Jesus gave up the omnipotent power.

7 but emptied Himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in human likeness. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to death— even death on a cross.
Between the time he was born and died, his authority was limited. After the resurrection, he resumed his full divine authority.

9 Therefore God exalted Him to the highest place and gave Him the name above all names, 10that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
If Jesus had all authority with Father from the beginning, why was more authority given to him in Mt 28:18?

Jesus' authority as a man was temporarily limited. After the resurrection, he resumed his full divine authority.

Keeping the faith in a state of hypocrisy.

I find myself currently struggling with holding on to old ideas that no longer serve purpose in my life right now. My question is does having little faith make me less of a Christian? I know and I pray to god that my previous beliefs which are hindering my progress in developing as a mature Christian be extinguished. I'm inquiring to know how faith and sin intertwine as it pertains to the bible? I'm new on my spiritual journey.

Marriage question

Greetings all. Looking for some advice from fellow Believers alike. My niece asked me recently to marry her. While I was overcome with excitement, I had to step back and talk to my wife about it. We are Christians first and foremost. She mentioned that she was torn due to my niece and her Sue to be husband not Believers and not getting married in a church. They asked another couple, however they declined for a religious reasons. While I love my niece and her fiance too, I'm torn with the morality of the situation. Any advice?

For me.

I’m feeling absolutely heartbroken right now. Feeling like everything I have done has been all for nothing. I’m beyond worried about someone I truly love and care for. I have no way to contact them but I’m worried it’s going to affect our relationship. I’m just trying to keep my head above water but I want to just lay in bed and cry.

Should a church member get KICKED out of church membership if he/she is dating a non christian person ?

My church removes members if they are dating non-Christians especially after they remain dating them after being told not to.

Is that right ? Or should something else should be done

NOTE: I know it’s not wise to be in romantic relationships with nonbelievers

  • Poll
POLL: Are you with or against the prosperity gospel? (generally speaking)

Do you align yourself in support of or in oposition against the prosperity gospel?

  • I am in support of the prosperity gospel.

  • I am in opposition against the prosperity gospel.

Results are only viewable after voting.

This poll is about whether you IN GENERAL align yourself with or against what is commonly referred to as the prosperity gospel. I say in general because I know we all have our each individual convictions and it is often impossible for us to say we are fully with or against anything. But if you were forced to choose, if a line was drawn in the sand and you were forced to choose to align yourself either with or against it which would you choose?

For those of you who do not know what the term means it is often associated with teaching from preachers such as Joel Osteen, Kenneth Hagin and Kenneth Copeland. So if you like to listen to any of them you are likely in support of the prosperity Gospel.

In two weeks I will make the results public so please keep posting comments to keep the thread alive but as always please keep your comments respectful and polite towards others opinions.

(Somewhat of a vent) I’m so lost I don’t think I have much hope left

I’m in need of prayers, though I’m not sure if god will listen. I can’t really put it in words well but I crossed the line with god. I’ve gotten some advice but I don’t feel reassured and I know I’m not anyone’s responsibility on here or anything but it’s the only help I can get.

God isn’t drawing me or chastening me which i used to want. I resisted conviction almost everytime and pushed god out of my mind completely. God warned me of a specific sin and I didn’t listen. I ended up giving myself completely to this sin and I threw away my possible relationship with God.

I’ve committed abominations which anyone would condemn if I said them out loud which is why I’m being so vague. I feel that I’ve rejected god too many times and now I’ve been given over to my own destruction. I’m only coming to my senses because I chose to. I was somewhat aware of my spiritual situation but I ignored it thinking eventually the Holy Spirit would come back and god would tolerate my sins.

Now that I’m reaping what I’ve sown and facing consequences of my sin I’m trying to come back to god. I don’t want to die in my sins and I don’t want to be like this anymore. The thing is I don’t think I genuinely want to change. God has given me a lifetime of chances and I rejected every one. My sins have hurt others and done a lot of damage so I don’t see any forgiveness for me.

I feel judgement has already been made and my heart has been permanently hardened. I know this sounds accusing but I think I may be sealed in my hardness of heart like pharaoh. I thought I was saved during everything but I wasn’t. I haven’t felt the Holy Spirit’s presence.

I’ve tried to bear fruits and be good but it’s really obvious that’s I bear bad fruits and I’m not.

In the end I’m to blame but I wish I’d responded to god’s calls earlier.

Kamala Harris for President - the excitement is growing

Democratic donors are immediately mobilizing around Kamala Harris as their party’s next presidential nominee, offering Democratic elites something they have not felt in weeks.
Optimism.
Advisers and major givers said on Sunday that they were being inundated with enthusiasm and word of planned donations to support Ms. Harris if she became the official Democratic candidate.
Multiple Biden donors and their advisers said that they were hearing from previously despondent donors who were ready to give to support a Harris-led ticket. One Silicon Valley bundler raised over $1 million in a 30-minute period, the person shared.
Alexandra Acker-Lyons, a Democratic donor-adviser who has spent the last few days behind the scenes trying to raise pledges for Ms. Harris, said that she had “gotten a barrage of emails, texts and calls” with promises to give. “People who hadn’t given at all asking where to give,” she said.

Joe Biden is a wonderful man and will be remembered as a successful President. He endorces Harris. There is a lot of excitement about her as a candidate for President.

Representative Jim Clyburn, who helped save Biden’s 2020 campaign and remained steadfast in his support for Biden to stay in the 2024 race, issued a statement praising Biden’s “selfless service” and “unparagoned leadership.” He said he “echoed the good judgement” that Biden displayed in choosing Harris as his vice president, and that he would “follow his lead in support of her candidacy to succeed him.”

Leading Democrats are voicing their support for Vice President Kamala Harris on Sunday as their party seeks a nominee to replace President Biden in the 2024 race, now that he has taken himself out of the running.
Former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton were among the pool of politicians to endorse Harris, after Mr. Biden did the same on the heels of an announcement confirming his decision to withdraw.
"We join millions of Americans in thanking President Biden for all he has accomplished, standing up for America time and again, with his North Star always being what's best for the country. We are honored to join the President in endorsing Vice President Harris and will do whatever we can to support her," the Clintons said in a joint statement. .....
The political arm of the Congressional Black Caucus, CBCPAC, also has come out in support of Harris, as well as the head of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, Rep. Nanette Barragán of California.
"The Congressional Black Caucus PAC joins President Biden in fully supporting Kamala Harris as our party's nominee," said CBCPAC chairman Rep. Gregory Meeks and caucus chairman Rep. Steven Horsford in a statement. "She has been instrumental in delivering the accomplishments of the last 3.5 years and has led on lowering maternal mortality rates, protecting reproductive freedoms, and ensuring economic opportunities for all. She will do an excellent job as president of the United States."
Other powerful Democratic figures, like former President Barrack Obama and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, commended Mr. Biden in the wake of the withdrawal but did not endorse Harris outright. Obama released a lengthy statement responding to the announcement, in which he praised Mr. Biden — his former vice president — as "a patriot of the highest order" and "one of America's most consequential presidents."

Joe Will Step Down after 2024

Guys and gals, Joe Biden will step down after 2024. Hopefully, we can get someone younger, and more in the center. This is breaking news, so I will update you guys quickly. As a guy nearer to the center, this could be the change the US needs. Or, maybe we should vote for Peter Sonski, the pro-life, pro-environment and pro-family candidate. Now, if Trump could peacefully step down in 2024, and both parties have new, young candidates, that would be even better.

Quote from Newsweek: "This announcement marks a significant shift in the political landscape as the Democratic Party must now quickly organize to select a new nominee before August 7, 2024."

Article:

Note: Newsweek has a centrist perspective, according to Allsides.

Evangelical Christians’ view of Trump remains positive overall, but some concerns remain

Evangelical Christians largely remain supportive of former President Donald Trump in the 2024 election as they did during the last two presidential election cycles, despite concerns regarding his ambivalent abortion stance that it is a "states rights" issue. The religious group that aided Trump in his 2016 presidential election victory is still supporting him this cycle, especially when the alternative is President Joe Biden. However, there is disagreement among evangelical Christians over the importance of regulating abortion, which is an issue upon which Trump is more moderate.
According to a March Pew Research Center poll, white evangelical Protestants were the religious group with the most positive view of Trump, as 67% viewed him favorably, including 30% who said “very favorably.” In a January opinion piece for Fox News, Hugh Hewitt, syndicated radio show host and law professor at Chapman University, explained that evangelical Christians are for Trump because of his support for religious freedom, his stance with parents against the progressive education system, and because they believe he’s being treated unjustly by the same political elites that view them unfavorably.

About God, and about what is happening and what peoples are doing

God rules the world yes…. but not as people imagine, that personally and directly by his "hand".... God will not come among people on earth to reward or rebuke them, because that is not possible,,. People reward or punish themselves on the basis of functioning God's Laws, or also cosmic laws and natural laws here on Earth. However, they are all one and the same. the same, only manifested in a different way up and down on Earth in natural laws. When people do not respect them and when they abuse them, they punish themselves. When they know them and live in accordance with God's laws, they do not punish themselves and live without punishment, without punishment , mood and so on... God does not care about the affairs of the people of this planet... He has self-acting Laws for this and that is how the world and the universe have always worked!

1. The law of retroactive action = karma for a person, what you sow is what you reap.. Everything that a person sends into space has energy, like an electric current that flows and cannot be seen... when you curse, you only get a curse in return and that amplified 10 times

2. The law of attraction of the same kind.. Only the same people and things are attracted and dissimilar people and things repel each other..

3. Law of weight .. light rises, heavy falls .. This Law is manifested especially after death, because a heavy soul, too dark people will fall down to the low planets of darkness .. light souls, good and not dragged by the dark will rise up to the light, where is beauty, splendor, lightness

God's will versus choice & Destiny versus free will...

To be born again, is a choice.
When the decision has been made,
2 choices lay await after
To be an eternal servant of God,
or to be a slave.

Choosing to be a servant is not choosing to be a slave.
For all eternity, the servant will be tempted with the choice of being a slave.
However, the choice will always be in choosing the chosen who chose Christ.
For he choose us out of the world of no choice.
for the world without Christ is choiceless.

In a big bang universe,
Which starts the same, (big bang)
And end the same (entropy)
Thinking there is any difference between the middle and in between,
IS ACTUALLY INSANE!

It's only through Christ that we get a choice!
For in God's eternal rock tumbler,
That which go in without Christ,
Go back out into the sands,
While that which go in with Christ, back into salt at the supper of the Lamb!

Therefore, Those without Christ have zero choice
They are program operated and are merely organic props.
Those with Christ have 2 choices,
To be an eternal servant, free will,

Or to be a slave, no will.
