  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

It's no wonder why Jesus loves the little children...

What heights could we possibly aspire to in our walk that are higher than this? The pure sacrificial love of Jesus received and shared, and the courageous conviction of God's goodness in spite of pain and the spectre of death looming. Refusing the temptation of the enemy to bitterness - just as our Savior did.

As all expressed by this sweet little boy. I would lay all the wisdom in the world at Jesus' feet in exchange for a faith as holy and pristine as this, and a heart as tender before Him...

Supreme Court Sides With Trump Admin In DEI-Related Case

Im confused?

In the bible it says that only people who are in God and have the spirit of God can say or acknowledge that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. But in the bible the demons that Jesus casted out of someone acknowledged that Jesus was the son of God and they still died I don't get how they were able to say that and still die ?

Battling a curse

Since I've been seeking a more Godly life, the demonic realm has been trying to bully me. I've given my life back to the Lord Jesus Christ fully. However, I think I opened up doors for demons to come in when I was leading a fleshly life. As I mentioned before I took a couple puffs of pot about four days ago. Could this potentially be what caused it? I've also been struggling in my mind thinking I blasphemed the Holy Spirit but I have been listening to sermons and praying to the Lord fervently for forgiveness. The good news is I believe Jesus has forgiven me. What's some good Bible verses for spiritual warfare? (staff edit) Any advice you guys can give would be great.

65K North Carolina Voters Must Prove Identity Or Have Ballots Thrown Out In Supreme Court Race

“The post-election protest process preserves the fundamental right to vote in free elections ‘on equal terms,’” the 2-1 majority opinion states. “This right is violated when ‘votes are not accurately counted [because] [unlawful] [ ] ballots are included in the election results.’ … The inclusion of even one unlawful ballot in a vote total dilutes the lawful votes and ‘effectively “disenfranchises”’ lawful voters” (brackets original).

Voter identification, chain of custody, and counting all of the votes in one day are cornerstones of fair elections.

NATO Hysteria

Since our polarization, we don't listen to the other tribe's leaders' words, so we are manipulated into fear. But if NATO keeps acting like a fool like all these past years, maybe Trump will do a realignment.

Is the Earth Round?

Some readers might think the answer to this question is so obvious that maybe we’re offering it as a kind of joke—but it’s no joke. A number of people seem to actually believe the earth is flat, a view that a few NBA stars have voiced in the past.1,2 Do we know the earth is round, and does it matter?

The question matters because if the Bible and science both describe a spherical earth, then those who depart from these sources of knowledge stray from reality. Fortunately, both sources offer clear descriptions of the real, round earth.

Isaiah 40:22 cites “the circle of the earth,” and Proverbs 8:27 also references the earth’s circularity. These match a ball-shaped earth.

Only The Reciprocal (Trade Deficit) Tariffs Are Crazy - Companies Will Be Able To React To The Rest

Yes, autos and imports will have higher prices. Companies can only absorb part of the tariff costs, ditto for the 10% across the board tariffs.
And, yes, some companies will increase the production in US auto plants.
========
But what can Vietnam do to remove the 46% trade deficit tariff that has nothing to do with their own tariffs on US goods. Will US companies really accept shipment if they have to pay a 46% tax? Vietnam could remove all of its own tariffs, but the situation driving the tariffs won't change unless Vietnam reduces sales to the US. Do companies want to import at 45% more (how much will they pass on)? or will we simply have fewer goods available?
======
TO BE CLEAR
Many countries will do fine, especially those with no trade deficit tax. Some will also negotiate with the US (Canada, Mexico, the UK, Ireland and Israel come to mind). However, companies operating in countries where there is a high trade deficit tax are truly screwed. They will need to open more markets (in Africa, Latin America and/or China) or they will fail (as Trump seems to want to happen). One thing that they can do is to greatly reduce sales to the US and then sell to countries without a trade deficit that might be able to re-sell to the US.

Vietnam vows to cut-tariffs to zero after Trump's liberation day rollout mace

Zero is as good as it can get.

Countries considering dropping tariffs

List of Countries Considering Lifting Tariffs on the US

Canada

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney was adamant on Wednesday that he and other world leaders would respond in kind to U.S. tariffs. The relationship between Canada and the U.S. has become more volatile since Trump took office in January.
"We are going to fight these tariffs with countermeasures. We are going to protect our workers and we are going to build the strongest economy in the G7," Carney said in a video posted on X.
oh my!

On Monday, Canadian officials told the Globe & Mail that they will not impose retaliatory tariffs on most U.S. food and other essentials to avoid job loss in key sectors of the economy.

So much for that.

Israel

On Tuesday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other national leaders announced they would be lifting tariffs on U.S. products in order to maintain the countries' long and reliable alliance.

India

Reuters reported last week that India was open to cutting tariffs on U.S. imports worth $23 billion to mitigate the impact on its exports

Vietnam

Vietnam last week promised it would cut its tariffs on several U.S. products including LNG and cars, according to Reuters, and also moved to approve Starlink services.

Mexico

On Wednesday, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said that Mexico won't go tit-for-tat on tariffs but also has not ruled out reciprocal tariffs

Who in the Bible do you most resonate with?

The answer for me can some days shift but currently I find myself with this deep dark despair and fear like King David. This man was in constant fear for his life but despite all that looked around him, he chose to put his faith in God. The book of psalms is my go to book when I feel I went too far away from God. When I finally snap back into the reality of it all, the only hope I have is in God.

Psalm 40: 1-3
I waited patiently for the Lord;
And He inclined to me,
And heard my cry.
2 He also brought me up out of a horrible pit,
Out of the miry clay,
And set my feet upon a rock,
And established my steps.
3 He has put a new song in my mouth—
Praise to our God;
Many will see it and fear,
And will trust in the Lord.

I too know the feeling of not feeling the Holy Spirit, as if He has gone silent. Those are dark days for me. I wrestle with the idea I did the unpardonable sin but I get dropped in my spirit that if I had done that I wouldn't be so fearful that I lost Him.

That is why King David is who I relate to the most currently. He was a man of war with blood on his hands and despite all that God chose to use him in mighty ways. He became a murderer because he lusted over Uriah's wife, to the point he sent his friend to the front of the battle lines where Uriah was killed. It took Nathan to point out his grievous error.

2 Samuel 12: 1-7

Then the Lord sent Nathan to David. And he came to him, and said to him: “There were two men in one city, one rich and the other poor. 2 The rich man had exceedingly many flocks and herds. 3 But the poor man had nothing, except one little ewe lamb which he had bought and nourished; and it grew up together with him and with his children. It ate of his own food and drank from his own cup and lay in his bosom; and it was like a daughter to him. 4 And a traveler came to the rich man, who refused to take from his own flock and from his own herd to prepare one for the wayfaring man who had come to him; but he took the poor man’s lamb and prepared it for the man who had come to him.”

5 So David’s anger was greatly aroused against the man, and he said to Nathan, “As the Lord lives, the man who has done this [a]shall surely die! 6 And he shall restore fourfold for the lamb, because he did this thing and because he had no pity.”

7 Then Nathan said to David, “You are the man!

Talk about being completely gutted, David was horrified. Of course the Lord punished him for his sin but the Lord said he spared his life. What great tender mercy our God has, it's hard to fathom sometimes just how deep of love our Maker has for us.

I relate to David because I often feel I've crossed one too many lines and have been separated from Him and that's the most desolate feeling I've ever known. Yet somehow He shows up to comfort me just like He can comfort any of you.

God Bless and thank you for reading.

I will scientifically prove the existence of God to you

Hello,
I sincerely want to help people who are questioning the existence of God. I will not promote any religion. I will prove the existence of God to you in a way you have probably never heard before, clearly, as clear as 2 plus 2 equals 4.
Instead of explaining it to you directly, I want to ask questions that will lead you to discover it yourself, that way, it will be more meaningful.
I believe it would be best to do this through private messages, so please message me directly.

About confessing old sins/lying.

Ok so I know the Bible says to confess and repent. I've done that for this particular sin years ago. It haunts me however whether I need to confess to my family. I used to do drugs. Meth in particular. I didn't have a hard time quitting though. I couldn't afford it anymore, was afraid I'd end up in jail or dead or homeless, lose my job or my family would find out. I used everyday for several years and just saw too much crazy tweaker crap around me I was over it. No withdrawals or rehab needed, but I did end up moving because I was my dealers best customer. I was the only user he knew who kept a good job, kept my mouth shut and our dealings private. I easily spent a steady $1000 a month (I was using pretty heavily) and he wasn't happy I was quitting so I left the area all together... Anyway it was a huge secret from my family. Years after I quit I found Jesus. I have repented for my past. I'm open about it to whomever like on here now and friends. But if my mom EVER found out I'd be completely outcast from my family. I would basically no longer exist and I've seen that happen with a cousin. I haven't to really need my family now and am living with my mother again after almost 10 years out of state and just a few phone calls here and there. We talk about why I moved, I lie. I know I'm not supposed to lie either, but I'm 40 years old and honestly I don't feel it's her business, let alone something to admit to now and have it ruin my life after all these years. It never affected her in any way, I never took money from her or anything like that. It truly had nothing to do with her. Does God want me to confess an almost 8 year old sin that would ruin my life? But I know lying is a sin too! I'm not that person anymore as well. I'm a new creation! It's eating at me really bad anytime my past is brought up. I'm not sure what to do? I'm not sure what God wants me to do?

Fleeing to Mars not of God

“If there’s something terrible that happens on Earth, either made by humans or natural, we want to have, like, life insurance for life as a whole,” Musk said in 2020. He wants to turn the planet into a self-sustaining colony, and he reportedly told SpaceX staffers last year he envisions one million people living on Mars by the 2040s.

The bible tells us Jesus is returning to earth to rule. There is no escape. Wasting trillions trying to avoid the fate of man on earth is in my opinion a waste and not of God at all.

Prayer for better living conditions

Hi, everybody. Please pray for me about the following matters:

* Alternative living arrangements. I really am not happy in this shelter, it's very disorganized and full of dubious characters.
* In relation to the above, please pray that my aunt (who currently helps with finances for me to stay in the shelter) will help me to find a different place to live.
* For my fiancée's wellbeing. He's been on the streets since roughly the beginning of February. Last time someone saw him in town,, they reported back that he looks well and has found a job. But I remain concerned about him, for obvious reasons.
* For me, who gets only a disability grant, to find some sort of online employment, where I can \earn an honest income while working by myself.
* For my circumstances in this shelter to improve in general while I still have to live here.

The biggest problem for me currently is to find new accommodation. PLEASE ask the Lord to provide for me ASAP in this regard.

Thank you, and blessings. :groupray:

Does Jesus Himself condemn Sola Scripitra?

This was the Gospel read at Mass on Thursday April 3. It is from John 5

Jesus said to the Jews: “If I testify on my own behalf, my testimony is not true. But there is another who testifies on my behalf, and I know that the testimony he gives on my behalf is true. You sent emissaries to John, and he testified to the truth. I do not accept human testimony, but I say this so that you may be saved. He was a burning and shining lamp, and for a while you were content to rejoice in his light. But I have testimony greater than John’s. The works that the Father gave me to accomplish, these works that I perform testify on my behalf that the Father has sent me. Moreover, the Father who sent me has testified on my behalf. But you have never heard his voice nor seen his form, and you do not have his word remaining in you, because you do not believe in the one whom he has sent. You search the Scriptures, because you think you have eternal life through them; even they testify on my behalf. But you do not want to come to me to have life.

“I do not accept human praise; moreover, I know that you do not have the love of God in you. I came in the name of my Father, but you do not accept me; yet if another comes in his own name, you will accept him. How can you believe, when you accept praise from one another and do not seek the praise that comes from the only God? Do not think that I will accuse you before the Father: the one who will accuse you is Moses, in whom you have placed your hope. For if you had believed Moses, you would have believed me, because he wrote about me. But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe my words?”

Several things stuck out to me in this passage and I cannot believe that I did not see this before.

Jesus says that the Father has sent Him, but you have never heard His voice nor seen His form, and you do not have His word remaining in you.

WHY? Is it because they did not believe the scriptures? No, Jesus says that they have the scriptures and think that they have eternal life through them, but they don’t. WHY?

They do not believe on whom he has sent. He whom the Father has sent is Jesus, we know, but whom did Jesus send? He told the Apostles to go into all the world and preach the Gospel teaching them to obey all I have commanded you. Apostle means one who is sent.
He did not say to search the scriptures day and night to come to your own conclusions. No, authority was given to the Apostles, and they were sent by Jesus, so all Christians are obligated by faith to believe them.
The Bereans tested Paul by reading the scriptures to see if what he said was true, but they did not use the scriptures to abandon Paul and go on their own thinking they knew better.

He goes on to say “How can you believe when you accept the praise from one another and not the praise that comes from God alone?”

The scriptures speak of Apostolic authority, yet those that claim Sola Scriptura use it as an excuse to disbelieve the Apostles. They cry freedom of conscience.
Yes you have God given free will, but God does not praise freedom of conscience. He says I desire obedience rather than sacrifice. Who do we obey? The Apostles whose authority has come down to us by the laying on of hands and the promise of the Holy Spirt. Who do sola scripurists obey? If they are honest then it is no one, as each interprets scripture by his own understanding.

If we cannot obey the Apostles whom we can see, how can we claim to obey God whom we cannot see?
Yes obedience takes humility, but humility is the primary Christian virtue. There was even a song that I fondly remember as a Protestant
“Trust and obey, trust and obey. For there is no other way to be happy in Jesus than to trust and obey.”

I am not ashamed to say that I trust and obey the Apostles who were sent in the Catholic Church. I tired sola scriptura but was frequently beset by sin and told not to worry. When I finally submitted to the full authority of the Catholic Church without reservation, the sin that so easily beset me was gone. God gave me the grace that sola scriptura never could, because sola scriptura came from my own understanding and the praise of men, not from God.

You all have freedom of conscience and can follow whoever you want. I know His grace is real and I am following His Apostles in the Catholic Church. It is the Church Jesus built and confirms by the Holy Spirit

Jesus pretty much condemns sola scriptura in John 5. May God have mercy and he that has a ear to hear let him hear

Futurist Only Daniel 11, Part 2

Looking at Daniel 11, we have to understand that it is a part of one vision that starts at Daniel 10:1 and goes on through Daniel 12:13. With Daniel 10:1, the vision is described a ‘great war’.

In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia a thing was revealed unto Daniel, whose name was called Belteshazzar; and the thing was true, even a great warfare: and he understood the thing, and had understanding of the vision.

This vision is bookended by seeing an angelic ‘man in linen’.

Dan 10:4 On the twenty-fourth day of the first month, while I was by the bank of the great river, that is, the Tigris, 5 I lifted my eyes and looked, and behold, there was a certain man dressed in linen, whose waist was girded with a belt of pure gold of Uphaz. 6 His body also was like beryl, his face had the appearance of lightning, his eyes were like flaming torches, his arms and feet like the gleam of polished bronze, and the sound of his words like the sound of a tumult.

Here he is again in Daniel 12:

Dan 12:5 Then I, Daniel, looked and behold, two others were standing, one on this bank of the river and the other on that bank of the river. 6 And one said to the man dressed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, “How long will it be until the end of these wonders?” 7 I heard the man dressed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, as he raised his right hand and his left toward heaven, and swore by Him who lives forever that it would be for a time, times, and half a time; and as soon as they finish shattering the power of the holy people, all these events will be completed.

This ‘man in linen’ is the same entity as the Revelation 10 ‘Mighty Angel’. Both are ‘swearing an oath to heaven’ (Rev 10:5-6 & Dan 12:7). Also, the ‘time, times, and half a time’ (3 ½ years) of Daniel 12:7 that is shattering the holy people is the same as the 1260 days of the 2 witnesses in Revelation 11 that immediately occurs after the swearing of the oath.

Let’s take a small digression about the swearing of the oath being the ‘confirming of the covenant’ in Daniel 9:27. Swearing oaths is basically synonymous with making covenants. This occurs over and over in scripture where someone (or God) swears an oath which then creates a covenant between the parties.

  • Deut 4:13 For the LORD your God is a merciful God. He will not leave you or destroy you or forget the covenant with your fathers that he swore to them.

  • Deut 4:31 For the LORD your God is a merciful God; He will not abandon you or destroy you or forget the covenant with your fathers, which He swore to them by oath.

  • Genesis 26:28 “We can plainly see that the LORD has been with you,” they replied. “We recommend that there should now be an oath between us and you. Let us make a covenant with you.

  • 2 Kings 11:4 But in the seventh year Jehoiada sent and brought the captains of the Carites and of the guards, and had them come to him in the house of the LORD. And he made a covenant with them and put them under oath in the house of the LORD, and he showed them the king’s son.

  • Psalm 105:8 He remembers His covenant forever, the word He ordained for a thousand generations— 9 the covenant He made with Abraham, and the oath He swore to Isaac. 10 He confirmed it to Jacob as a decree, to Israel as an everlasting covenant: 11 “I will give you the land of Canaan as the portion of your inheritance.”

  • Psalm 132:11 The LORD swore an oath to David, a promise He will not revoke: “One of your descendants I will place on your throne. 12 If your sons keep My covenant and the testimony I will teach them, then their sons will also sit on your throne forever and ever.”

  • Hosea 10:4 They speak mere words; with false oaths they make covenants. So judgment springs up like poisonous weeds in the furrows of a field.

  • Luke 1:72 to show mercy to our fathers and to remember His holy covenant, 73 the oath He swore to our father Abraham, to grant us 74 deliverance from hostile hands, that we may serve Him without fear, 75 in holiness and righteousness before Him all the days of our lives.

  • Deut 8:18 You shall remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you power to get wealth, that he may confirm his covenant that he swore to your fathers, as it is this day.

In terms of Daniel 11, this particular instance of the ‘swearing of the oath’ (confirming the covenant) by the angelic ‘man in linen’ is taking place after the events of Daniel 11 (again, it is taking place at Dan 12:7). As we will see below in Daniel 11:22, there is already a prince of the covenant even before the ‘man in linen’ (the Rev 10 ‘mighty angel’) swears an oath to heaven to confirm the covenant (again). So why are there two covenants being broken? By hiding this, it makes people freely choose to join the Beast and worship it if it is in their heart to do so.

This is the meaning of the ‘mystery of God being fulfilled at the 7th Trumpet’ in Revelation 10:7. This ‘mystery’ is hidden in plain sight in many places, one of which is in Daniel 9.

Dan 9:26b Then the people of the prince who is to come will destroy the city and the sanctuary.
The Daniel 8 Little Horn's people, who are also the people of the Daniel 7 Little Horn.

The end will come like a flood, and until the end there will be war; desolations have been decreed.
The Daniel 7 Little Horn will confirm the covenant.
27 And he will confirm a covenant with many for one week, but in the middle of the week he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of the temple will come the abomination that causes desolation, until the decreed destruction is poured out upon him.”

When the ‘city and sanctuary’ are destroyed, this is the attack by the Daniel 11 King of the North (the Daniel 8 Little Horn) placing the abomination of desolation in Jerusalem in Daniel 11:29-31. The ‘war’ that is being described in Dan 9:26 is the vision of the ‘great war’ in Daniel 10:1 and is the same as the events taking place in Daniel 11:29-45 where the King of the North is invading many countries and is the same as the events of the 1st portion of the 6th Trumpet in Revelation 9:13-21. The ‘end of the war’ occurs when the ‘man in linen’ of Daniel 12 (the same as the Revelation 10 ‘Mighty Angel’) confirms the covenant, ending the hostilities. This is why at Rev 10:1 the Mighty Angel has a rainbow on his head signifying the end of the ‘flood’, alluding to the Genesis flood and rainbow covenant. Then this Mighty Angel will break it at the 7th Trumpet, revealing himself to be the ‘dragon’, the ‘deceiver of the whole world’ (Rev 12:9) who goes into heaven to call himself God. Then he gives the sanctuary over to foreigners and to the Daniel 8 Little Horn.

Overview

  • Sometime during the Seals, the ‘prince of the covenant’ of Daniel 11:22 will confirm the covenant (this individual is not the Daniel 8 Little Horn or ‘man in linen’/ the Rev 10 ‘Mighty Angel’).

  • The Daniel 8 Little Horn, the ‘despicable person King of the North’ of Daniel 11:21, takes over the kingdom of the North illegitimately via political intrigue and smooth talking. This appears to be the 4th Seal where Death is given dominion over ¼ of the land (Rev 6:7-8). The ‘fourth part’ seems to refer to the fact that Greece’s dominion of the world was split into four component parts when it is spread to the ‘four winds’ (meaning the four cardinal directions giving us a king of the North, South, East, and West) (Dan 11:4).

  • At the end of the Seals and start of the Trumpets, it appears as if it is the end of the world. The Daniel 8 Little Horn destroys Israel’s powerful army (this is why Israel is filled with ‘locusts’ at the start of the Trumpets – they are people loyal to the invader). His heart is set against the holy covenant but has not placed the abomination of desolation yet - this will happen on his next attack upon Israel. The ‘prince of the covenant’ is killed. Israel’s leader will sign a peace agreement with the Daniel 8 Little Horn, but ‘both of their hearts are bent on evil’ (Dan 11:27).

  • Five months later at the 6th Trumpet, as part of a larger campaign that will see him attack and take over many countries, the Daniel 8 Little Horn will succeed in placing the abomination of desolation in the holy place in Israel. Presumably, this will be 1260 days (the ‘middle of the week’, middle of 7 years in Dan 9:27) from when the prince of the covenant made it. (By extension, this would mean that 1110 days later, roughly three years, after the covenant is confirmed, the Trumpets will begin.)

  • Immediately at the placing of the abomination, the ‘image of jealousy' from Ezekiel 8:3, Jerusalem comes under the wrath of God. One of the principal agents of this wrath is the ‘man in linen’ who is destroying the ‘city and sanctuary’ (Dan 9:26) with fiery coals. The Daniel 8 Little Horn is killed and then this ‘man in linen’, the Daniel 7 Little Horn, the Revelation 10 ‘mighty angel’, the ‘dragon’ of Revelation, Lucifer/ Morningstar (the king of Babylon) confirms the covenant 30 days after the placement of the abomination of desolation (beginning the ‘time, times, and a half time that shatters the holy people’ of Dan 12:7 which is the same as the 1260 days of the 2 witnesses).

  • Then after the 1260 days of the 2 witnesses, Lucifer/ Morningstar, the king of Babylon, breaks the covenant, goes into heaven, and calls himself God (Isaiah 14:12-14). This is where the ‘dragon’ (the ‘deceiver of the world’ in Rev 12:9) is kicked out of heaven in Rev 12:7-9.

  • When the ‘dragon’/ the Revelation 10 ‘mighty angel’ breaks the covenant at the 7th Trumpet, he gives his throne to the beast from the sea (Rev 13:2), ruled by the Daniel 8 Little Horn, who is the ‘mortally head wounded’ individual of Rev 13:3.

Did Paul urge us to study the Apocrypha?

In 2 Timothy 3:15-17, Paul says to Timothy; "15And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 16All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works."

I want to hone in on the phrase "all scripture". We know that Paul was a Pharisee. The Pharisees, like the majority of Jewish sects, believed in all OT scripture, including the "Apocrypha". I know most Protestants don't believe that Apocrypha is inspired scripture for various reasons. The question is, as a Pharisee when Paul says "all scripture" does it not follow that would include the Apocrypha?

While many Protestant denominations reject these books, the Catholics and Eastern Orthodox churches still accept most of them. Many were included in early Protestant English Bibles. Luther's Bible of 1534 published them as a separate section between the Old and New Testaments. They were included in the Geneva Bible with the following preface ""These books were not received by a common consent to be read and expounded publicly in the Church and did not serve to prove any point of Christian religion save in so much as they had the consent of the other scriptures called canonical to confirm the same". The Anglican Communion accepts the Apocrypha "for instruction in life and manners, but not for the establishment of doctrine". These Protestant Bibles actually included three books; 1 Esdras, 2 Esdras and the Prayer of Manasseh that are regarded as non-canonical by the Catholic Church and are therefore not included in modern Catholic Bibles. To this date, the Apocrypha are included in the lectionaries of Anglican and Lutheran Churches. Modern Anabaptists still use the aforementioned Luther Bible with the Apocrypha included. The Revised Common Lectionary, used by many mainstream Protestants including Methodists, lists readings from the Apocrypha in the liturgical calendar. The original 1611 King James Bible included them in a separate section. It wasn't until the early 19th century that these books were removed from most Protestant Bibles. For many years the The American Bible Society forbade their inclusion until the restriction was lifted in 1964.

So, the question is simply, did Paul exhort us to study the Apocrypha and if so are the Protestants who deny these books missing the boat?

Sinful Addictions

Please pray for me. I am dealing with some very embarrassing, sinful addictions and I need all the grace I can get. I am going to confession on Sunday, and pray and hope I can break this addiction/cycle once and for all! I am very spiritually ill at the moment. My anxiety is through the roof.

God bless you!

Army Planners Are Weighing Force Reductions of Up to 90,000 Active-Duty Soldiers, Making America Stronger Than Ever

The Army is quietly considering a sweeping reduction of up to 90,000 active-duty troops, a move that underscores mounting fiscal pressures at the Pentagon and a broader shift in military strategy away from Europe and counterterrorism, according to three defense officials familiar with the deliberations.

Internal discussions are exploring trimming the force to between 360,000 and 420,000 troops -- down from its current level of roughly 450,000. The potential cuts would mark one of the most dramatic force reductions in years, as military planners aim to reshape the Army from a blunt conventional force into what they hope could be a more agile, specialized instrument better suited for future conflicts.

The House has more extremists (according to media) and is not expected to follow suit....yet.
Their constituents will be banging at their doors soon.

Trump Has Personally Reduced The Wealth Of US Investors By $9.6 TRILLION Since Inauguration Day

Trump has always told us how important the rising of the market was in evaluating his first term.

Well, up to a couple of days ago, Trump has led the way to a $4.6 Trillion loss in the stock market. Since announcing the tariffs, the Trump tariffs have cost investors $5 TRILLION more dollars.

We will now see how much more this Trump unforced error will cost. This is already the biggest financial policy error in 95 years. And let's be clear, the very worst is the Trump new idea of tariffs based on the US trade deficits with individual countries. Obviously the 10% import tax will raise prices throughout the world and will help end the division between China and EU, and between China and Asian countries.
================
The reconciliation is being debated. We will see if any Republicans will insist on the end to the reciprocal tariffs as the cost of supporting the bill.
