  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What is the law and what is the testimony ?

What is the law and what is the testimony ? ( Israel is a perfect example of complete lack of law and testimony.)

To understand what this is, is to have light inside.

Another guidance to what Isaiah 8:20 is speaking about, is in proverbs.

Pity upon the poor is lending to the Lord, and the Lord repays that which was given again.

Alsohow unjust people ( Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and DESTITUTE OF THE TRUTH, SUPPOSING THAT GAIN IS GODLINESS: from such withdraw thyself. 1 Timothy 6:5.) who by usuary to GET UNJUST GAIN, really only gather all they have for the ones who will pity and give to the poor.

Isaiah 8:20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

Proverbs 19:17 He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the Lord; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.

Proverbs 28:8 He that by usury and unjust gain increaseth his substance, he shall gather it for him that will pity the poor.

Jesus gave the law and the testimony, of the light which is spoke about in proverbs, that with what measure you make, that same measure is returned to you again. (lend unto the Lord; and that which he has given will he pay him again.)

This is the testimony, that we are evil, but give good to our children, and God gives more good things to us, than we do to others, being evil. This then is exactly what the law and the prophets are testified to be, that we are to believe in doing all things to men as we would like to be done for ourselves. ( both from God and from men.)

Matthew 7:1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.
2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

Matthew 7:11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?
12 Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.

Now we are beginning to learn what the testimony of what light in the Lord means,
( O house of Jacob, come ye, and let us walk in the light of the Lord. Isaiah 2:5
For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: .Ephesians 5:8.)

Light of the Lord, ( to the law and to the testimony or there is no light in them.) is to WALK AS CHILDREN OF LIGHT.

Jesus told the world the testimony, to be merciful as our Father is merciful, no condemning to not be condemned ourselves, (
And THIS IS THE CONDEMNATION, that LIGHT IS COME INTO THE WORLD, and MEN LOVED DARKNESS rather than light, because THEIR DEEDS WERE EVIL John 3:19. ) to give, and it shall be given to us, men giving to us, for with the same measure that we make, it is measured to us again.

The blind cant lead us, they are not in any of the light, the parables meaning is clear, we are to believe in the law and testimony of Christ, nothing else.

Jesus testifies to us to be careful how we hear, how the same measure we make is measured to us, and to those who hear, ( the law and the testimony) more shall be given. To him that has, ( light) more shall be given, from him that has not, ( who has darkness) it is taken from him what he had. ( seemed to have light/blind leader of the BLIND.. Luke 8:18.)

Luke 6:36 Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.
37 Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:
38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
39 And he spake a parable unto them, Can the blind lead the blind? shall they not both fall into the ditch?
40 The disciple is not above his master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his master.

Luke 8:18 Take heed therefore how ye hear: for whosoever hath, to him shall be given; and whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he seemeth to have.

Mark 4:24 And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given.
25 For he that hath, to him shall be given: and he that hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he hath.

Israel who labours not for eternal life, asked what to do for temporary life ? Jesus answered Israel to instead believe on who God had sent to them. The Jews continued to seek signs.

The apostle Paul, ( persecuted by the Jews of Israel) continued how flaming fire is the vengeance on those who do not know God, who failed to obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, when He comes to be admired by all those who believe, because their testimony among them was believed in that day.

That was why they prayed always for those who hear, that God would count them worthy of this calling, to fulfil all the good pleasure of His goodness, the work of faith with power, ( the work of God is to believe on Him whom He sent.) that the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in them, and them in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.

John 6:27 Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.
28 Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?
29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.
30 They said therefore unto him, What sign shewest thou then, that we may see, and believe thee? what dost thou work?

2 Thessalonians 1:8 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
9 Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;
10 When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.
11 Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power:
12 That the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and ye in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Is this the man to lead the US?

Persecuted for the Gospel.

I have been going to the parks and sharing the Gospel for about a year and a half now. During this time, Satan has tried to discourage me in several ways. So, I thought I would list them so that you may see how Satan will do his best to bring you down.

1. Just as I was starting to share the Gospel, I had a church member ring me and yell at me telling me that the Holy Spirit is not with me. (Since then, the person has returned to me and apologised, and we are still good friends. He has even said that what I am doing is right and we should all be doing more of it.)
2. A certain leader of the church told me that we are no longer to go out and share the Gospel by speaking it out aloud. He told me that what I am doing can scare people away from Christ. He said that now we are to do it differently. We are to make friends with the unbeliever first and then share the Gospel. So, this leader would not support me in speaking the Gospel publicly. The church would not even support a BBQ. I was very disheartened. (NOTE: I do evangelism in a very similar way as what is taught in "Way of the Master". Living Waters. Ray Comfort.)
3. I have been told by a church member that since this leader does not agree with sharing the Gospel in public, that I should not be going out and sharing. He said that I was going against the church by doing so.
4. I have been called a false teacher by a church leader because I think a non-believer needs to see his sin first and know that he has sinned against God and needs to come to repentance. This member believes that you can be saved in "many ways". SHE IS VERY WRONG. Jesus died for our sins, so we need to know we have sinned against Him.
5. When I first started practising how to say the Gospel, I spent hours each day saying it aloud. I wanted to get it right as I did not want to bring disrepute to the Gospel by having a poor presentation. But, because my children heard me practising, a member of the church said that my kids were being scared away from God because the message I had was scary and judgemental. (My kids are in their teens. Aged 13-20 and they have a strong faith)
6. I have lost friends. These friends have come and apologised but sadly, things will never be the same. (We are still friends but not as close)
7. I have had some people get angry at me while sharing the Gospel. This is expected though. Jesus even said people would hate us if we shared the Gospel. (Bad News and the Good News)
8. I was shut down at a Christian music festival for saying the Gospel in 1 to 1 evangelism. In saying this, I had not arranged with the organisers if I could do this. So, it is really my fault. But I was very disappointed.
9. Today I went to the park and said the Gospel to a lady. She said that she was adamantly against God and that she was a hardcore atheist. Then, this afternoon I had a phone call from the police asking what I was doing in the park. They heard from this lady that I had been giving chocolates to little children. So, I had to explain that I share the Gospel with as many people as possible and I initiate the conversation with a challenge where people can win chocolate. I explained that I try to talk to people from about the age of 12 and upwards. (Many kids have not heard the Gospel and the older they get, the more likely they will put up walls against God. So we need to talk to them). The police officer did not tell me that I was not allowed to share the Gospel but that I just needed to know that some people may not like it.

Now, I know that many people are persecuted unto death. So, this list is very minor really. But I thought that I would post this to show you different ways in which Satan will try to bring you down and stop you from sharing. He can do it from within the church and from the outside.
Anyway, if you are getting persecuted for sharing the Gospel, do not let it get you down. Instead, rejoice. God Bless.

THE 10 Commandments of Faith

"But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men." - Matthew 15:9
Today we have many who teach the 10 Commandments are not for today. This is NOT what the Bible teaches. This is an example of the erroneous false doctrine out there today, from a random website:
Screenshot 2024-02-21 6.50.24 PM.png

Do these 2 verses above even begin to sound like the 10 commandments are abolished? - "To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law,"... "Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ."

They mainly argue from Galatians, and also misinterpret other scriptures. They argue because
of Romans 6:14, "for ye are not under the law, but under grace," but need to quote everything in context, which is Romans 6:14-15 "For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid."

First: as for Galatians, Paul is mainly addressing those who said you had to be circumcised, and keep certain days (Galatians 2:1-4, 4:9-10, 5:2-3, 6:12-13), which are the weak and beggarly elements (4:9)

Second: There is the moral law of the 10 commandments written by the finger of God Himself: Exodus 31:13 "And he gave unto Moses, when he had made an end of communing with him upon mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God." Then there are the rest of the 613 laws contained in ordinances that were written by Moses at the direction of the LORD, many of which are ceremonial laws dealing with the Temple and the Priesthood. These are what Christ nailed to the cross: Colossians 2:14, ""Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross" Cheirographon is the Greek for Handwriting which means written by hand; but the 10 commandments were written by God.

Third: Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, not the obedience to it (Galatians 3:13) The curse and penalty of the law we are not under: John 1:17, "For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ." This does not mean the 10 commandments were done away with, it just brings in that Jesus Christ comes with grace and truth. And we will see how we keep the law by grace, through faith, just as we are saved by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8) Nor are there any more sacrifices under the law, for Christ became the perfect one time sacrifice, once for all. (Hebrews 7:27, 9:12, 9:24-28)

What the antinomians (Those who are against the law) fail to connect is Galatians 5:18-23. Ye are not under law IF you walk in the Spirit (5:18). Then Paul lists the works of the flesh, which if you do you SHALL NOT INHERIT THE KINGDOM OF GOD. (5:19-21) Every single one of those works of the flesh is a violation of one or more of the 10 commandments, with the exception of "Thou shalt not steal." However, before you think you can shoplift from the store, "Theft" is listed in 1 Corinthians 6:10 in that thieves shall not inherit the kingdom of God, along with adulterers, homosexuals, extortioners, etc. Thievery is also covered under covetousness, for a thief does not steal unless he covets what he wishes to steal.

We must let scripture interpret scripture. So why would Paul say we're not under the law, then turn around and say if you break the law, you won't inherit the kingdom of God? Unless he meant something else, which is clear he does, because he is dealing with ceremonial aspects of the handwriting of ordinances, circumcision, the keeping of days and weeks, and such like. Basically, works. He also talks about the curse and penalty of the law which Jesus delivered us from.

That we are obligated to keep the moral law of the 10 commandments is clear from the following scriptures:
Mathew 5:17-20, (Jesus speaking here) "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven."

Matthew 5:27-28, "Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart." Here Jesus even makes the true meaning of the law more expansive: Not only is the physical act of adultery a violation of the commandment, but just the thought of lust; and that means fantasy, pornography - looking at a girl in any lustful way, and same goes for girls looking at guys, or same sex looking at same to lust.

Romans 2:13-16 (Does this sound like Paul is telling anyone the law is completely abolished?) "(For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified. For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves: Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;) In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel."

Romans 3:31 is pivotal: "Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law." I've shared previously how "establish" here means "to stand in, keep its place, establish, keep intact, uphold the authority of a thing." This is one of the most powerful verses in the entire Bible regarding whether or not we are obliged to obey the 10 commandments.
We also see this verse, Rom. 3:31 is written at the end of the chapter containing " Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;..." and, "Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law." (Rom 3:19-21 & 28) But these only show us that the law points out sin, and trying to keep the law as a method of salvation (works) is not the way, and you cannot be justified by it; rather, by faith we ESTABLISH the law, that is, keep it, by faith.
Romans 6:1-2 &6-7, (Using same language he did in 3:31), "What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin."
Now look at 1 John 3:4, "Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law"

Romans 7:12, 14, 25 & 8:1 - 4, (This goes back to Galatians 5: walk in the Spirit, there is no condemnation, because you are keeping the law, and not committing the lusts of the flesh, which is the breaking of the law of the 10 commandments): "Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.... For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin...I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin. There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit."

1 Timothy 1:8-10, (Again, the law points out sin, and the law is good) "But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully; Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine."

1 John 2:3 & 7, & 5:7, "And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments...Brethren, I write no new commandment unto you, but an old commandment which ye had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which ye have heard from the beginning....For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

Revelation 12:17, "And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ."

Revelation 22:14, "Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city"

Oh, but the antinomians say all that means is love: Jesus told us to love each other, that is all. Define love then, and specifically what Jesus meant by it. It is true He meant love, but He clearly states, "Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets." (Matthew 22:37-40)
Loving the Lord your God with all your heart fulfills the first 4 commandments. Loving your neighbor as yourself covers the last 6. One is your relationship between you and God, a vertical relationship: Look UP for your redemption draweth nigh. The second, love your neighbor as yourself is your relationship to people, a horizontal relationship, and even in this we see the form of the cross. So the 2 commandments about love, and all the scripture about love that John writes IS the keeping of the 10 commandments, and Jesus calls us to DO THEM!

Galatians 5:13-14, "For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself."
1 John 2:3, I'll close with this. It's pretty clear if we look at the Bible and search the Scriptures we see the law in the 10 Commandments is most certainly for today, and whosoever teaches otherwise is teaching false doctrine: yea, is even a false prophet, and Paul would go so far to call them accursed in Galatians 1!
"For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous."

Understanding New Testament Jewish baptismal practices.

Baptism as a Jewish institution was well known and in common practice in the NT era. The Pharisees baptized themselves often. It was customary to baptize themselves before eating a meal. Also after coming from any market place, they baptized their hands.

  • Mark 7:2, 3, 5: The Pharisees had seen that some of His disciples were eating their bread with unclean hands, that is, unwashed. 3 For the Pharisees and all the Jews do not eat unless they carefully wash their hands, thus observing the traditions of the elders; 4 and when they come from the market place, they do not eat unless they baptize (βαπτίσωνται) their unclean hands.
  • Also Luke 11:38: The Pharisee was astonished that “Jesus had not first baptized (ἐβαπτίσθη) [his hands] before dinner."
The whole of the Jewish culture practiced ceremonial baptism every day. Of course, Jesus severely criticized the Pharisees for this ceremonial baptism, as this baptism was only commanded for the priests in the OT and not for the common people (Mark 7:5-7). Enforcing ceremonial hand baptisms on the whole population was, according to Jesus... “holding to the tradition of men.” (Mark 7:7)

We certainly can refer to these baptisms in English as "immersing hands in water" or "washing hands in water" as they are linguistic equivalents.

We make two distinctions between Jewish baptism and Christian baptism.
  • Jewish baptisms were repeated over and over again many times a day. Christian baptism is done once.
  • Jewish baptisms were performed by the individual himself, whereas in Christian baptism, another Christian baptizes the recipient.

Ghosts?????

This morning I had to get up and leave my office to go downstairs and put something away so I left this box in the center of my table. I cam back upstairs a minute later and it was on the floor. I have no windows, so no draft, there was nothing to push it off, and nobody else was home. So...what the hell happened. I know we as christians arent supposed to believe in ghosts but im really having a hard time here.

Key Figure that Mueller Report linked to Russia was a State Department Intel Source

How many of you all are already aware of this?
Were those details found by John Solomon in the Mueller Report ignored and/or hidden by the mainstream media?

Skintight Shiny, PVC, Vinyl, Rubber-Like, and Faux Leather Leggings, Pants and Dresses

Skintight Shiny, Wet-Look, PVC, Vinyl, Rubber-Like, and Faux Leather Leggings and Pants are getting more and more popular in fashion and everyday clothing style.
They even made it to the female worship singers, musicians and even speakers wearing them on stage.
( I'm 99% of those are faux leather leggings, but can't really be sure about the exact material since they look very similar )
I know many educational institutions have dress-code which specifically ban this type of clothing.
Here are few clips ( there are many more during live streams from different churches but those cant be saved or shared ) of Christian Performers wearing such.

But for many people, both Christians and non-Christians, they are almost a taboo.

Some people that argue against these clothing types use such arguments:
"adulteresses and dancers wear this kinds of clothing" my answer: those wear any kind of clothing from diferent materials.
"such material especially when worn tight, attracts men and causes them to lust" my answer: thats true to those that have a certain attraction for it, and yes it is very standing out type of clothing but years ago tight jeans were considered taboo, and in some denominations high heels are not allowed.

what are you thoughts about this clothing ?

I have said, ‘You are GODS'

There was this confrontation between some Jews and Jesus in John 10:

30 "I and the Father are one.”
Jesus claimed to be one with the Father.

31 The Jews picked up stones again to stone him. 32 Jesus answered them, “I have shown you many good works from the Father; for which of them are you going to stone me?” 33 The Jews answered him, “It is not for a good work that we are going to stone you but for blasphemy, because you, being a man, make yourself God.”
They accused Jesus of blasphemy. To me, that's a reasonably valid point of contention from the Jews.

34 Jesus answered them, “Is it not written in your Law, ‘I said, you are gods’?
What was Jesus doing here saying that "you are gods"? He couldn't be serious, could he?

Picking up on the word "god", Jesus cited Psalm 82:6 "You are gods; you are all sons of the most high". Jesus pointed out this precedence in the OT. The gods were God's representatives or delegates. God gave them authority to judge (Ps 82:2). These 'gods' were judges.

35 If he called them gods to whom the word of God came—and Scripture cannot be broken— 36 do you say of him whom the Father consecrated and sent into the world, ‘You are blaspheming,’ because I said, ‘I am the Son of God’?
Jesus was making a comparison. Those people were called "gods" by the Scripture. What about Jesus, who was specially set apart by the Father? If the Scripture (Ps 82:6) called the sons of the Most High judges 'gods', how much more Jesus could call himself the son of God. Jesus didn't even say that he was God but only that he was the Son of God. Why do you guys (the Jews) make a big deal about blasphemy on this?

In case the Jews would not accept this How-Much-More argument, Jesus added more evidence:

37 If I am not doing the works of my Father, then do not believe me; 38 but if I do them, even though you do not believe me, believe the works, that you may know and understand that the Father is in me and I am in the Father.”
Even with this extra argument, they didn't accept Jesus. Again, Jesus claimed to be one with the Father.

39 Again they sought to arrest him, but he escaped from their hands.
I tell you: if I were a Jew at this time listening to this, I too would have trouble believing Jesus' incredible claims.

What was Jesus talking about in John when he said everybody was a god?

Jesus didn't say that everybody was god. He pointed out that in the Old Testament, a particular group of sons of the Most High judges were called gods. Given that, relatively speaking, the Jews should not be surprised that Jesus claimed to be the son of God. However, the bigger claim that Jesus was one with the Father was tough for the Jews, or anyone, to swallow. Today, Christians do not have so much trouble with that claim because of the hindsight of the Cross.

Ps 82:

6 I said, “You are gods, sons of the Most High, all of you; 7 nevertheless, like men you shall die, and fall like any prince.”
These gods could die.

Team forfeits after girls basketball player allegedly hurt in play with male who identifies as female

Fox News reported the KIPP Academy girls team has a male player with facial hair on its roster who identifies as female, and local Massachusetts outlet the Daily Item, which also reported the team has a male player, said “KIPP officials refused to confirm the player’s gender identification.”

Our country should never have let a small group of radicals rule as they see fit. More and more girls are going to get hurt, and the fact is that it is completely unfair to women's sports.

Texas lawyer who tried to abort his unborn child seven times gets just six months in jail

Mason Herring, a solo legal practitioner, struck a plea deal and was sentenced to 180 days in jail and 10 years probation after poisoning his wife's water and sports drink with misoprostol, an agent often used to induce abortion.

(Live Action) — The first person charged with felony assault to induce abortion in Harris County, Texas, has struck a plea deal and has been sentenced with only six months (180 days) jail time and 10 years probation.

Mason Herring, a solo legal practitioner who practiced law in New Mexico and Texas, attempted several times to surreptitiously cause the death of his preborn child. He poisoned his wife’s water and sports drink with misoprostol, an agent often used to induce abortion. When his wife grew suspicious of the cloudy water, he persevered and encouraged her to “stay hydrated,” even refusing to leave until she finished his concoction.

According to a February 8, 2024, article by the New York Times, Herring “pleaded guilty to injury of a child and assault of a pregnant [woman] as part of a plea agreement.”

Catherine Herring, the suspect’s wife, became suspicious when her husband took out the trash. She stated in her complaint that it was “out of character for” him, because “he does not do chores around the house…” When she investigated what was in the trash, she found empty Cyrux packages in the bin.

God will justify the circumcised BY faith and the uncircumcised THROUGH faith

εἴπερ εἷς ὁ Θεός, ὃς δικαιώσει περιτομὴν ἐκ πίστεως καὶ ἀκροβυστίαν διὰ τῆς πίστεως.
Grammatically, there are differences between the two expressions:

  1. ἐκ points to the source, while διὰ indicates the channel from the source
  2. without the article, it is the quality of faith, while with τῆς, faith is more concrete.
Theologically, however, there are no differences between these two expressions. Paul used these two expressions in a parallelism to reinforce each other. God will justify everyone by faith and through faith.

NIV Hebrews 11:

4a By faith Abel brought God a better offering than Cain did. By [G1223 διὰ] faith he was commended as righteous, when God spoke well of his offerings. And by faith Abel still speaks, even though he is dead.
English Standard Version:

By faith Abel offered to God a more acceptable sacrifice than Cain, through which he was commended as righteous, God commending him by accepting his gifts. And through his faith, though he died, he still speaks.
Now, Berean Literal Bible, Rom 3:

21 But now apart from Law, the righteousness of God has been revealed, being borne witness to by the Law and the Prophets. 22 And the righteousness of God is through faith from Jesus Christ toward all those believing.
The preposition "from" is not in the Greek. The phrase "faith from Jesus" is expressed by genitive apposition to identify faith with Jesus. My paraphrase:

the righteousness of God through faith (i.e., Jesus Christ) toward all those believing
Jesus is the source and the channel of faith.

For there is no distinction,
It does not matter whether you are a Jew or a Gentile.

23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, 25 whom God set forth as a propitiation through faith in His blood,
Jesus' blood is the channel of faith.

30 since indeed God is the One who will justify the circumcision by faith and the uncircumcision through the same faith.
God will justify the Jews and Gentiles by faith (i.e., Jesus, the object and source of faith) through his blood (the channel of faith).

Over 100 relics of Christ, Holy Family, saints to be displayed at New Jersey parish

An exhibit that includes more than 100 relics of Jesus Christ, the Holy Family, and numerous saints will be exhibited at a parish in northern New Jersey on Saturday, Feb. 24, from noon to 7 p.m.

Our Lady of Mount Carmel Oratory in Montclair, New Jersey, will host the exhibit at its Capozzelli Hall on 94 Pine Street. The parish is located in the Diocese of Newark, about 20 miles west of New York City.

“I think it’s going to be an experience for people — especially for an exhibit this large,” Joe Santoro, the regional delegate to the United States for the International Crusade for Holy Relics (ICHR), told CNA.

Santoro is supplying the relics for the exhibit, which he obtained personally through his work to preserve these holy objects. He said his preservation of the relics is “saving them from places where they’re not going to be honored in the appropriate way.”

Hope of justice for Pakistan Christians.

Court offers hope of justice as Pakistan’s Christians endure attacks

A Christian boy was killed, two women believers assaulted and two brothers tortured to make them convert in separate incidents in Pakistan recently.

Please pray for the church in Pakistan, which continues to suffer violent persecution. At the same time we thank God that an order by the country’s Supreme Court has given hope of justice to Christians in Jaranwala, the scene of a violent mob attack last summer.

Two weeks ago Muslim gunmen shouting threats against Christians shot dead a 14-year-old Christian, Sunil Masih, according to Christian Daily International-Morning Star News (CDI-MSN) sources.

Sunil and other Christians were standing in a market in the Mandiala Warraich area of Gujranwala District, Punjab Province, on the evening of Monday, February 5, when six men armed with pistols arrived on motorcycles and opened fire on them, said the boy’s uncle, Mehboob Gill.

One of the attackers reportedly shouted ‘that no Christian in the area should be left alive,’ Gill said.

The other boys took cover behind a wall before the gunmen fled while shouting threats at the Christians. So far none have been arrested.

‘We rushed Sunil to a local hospital, but he succumbed to his bullet wound before doctors could begin their treatment,’ Gill said.

Rev Numan Matto of the Gondalanwala Presbyterian Church in Gujranwala said the murder was religiously motivated.

‘In May 2023, some Muslim youths disrupted a marriage ceremony of Christians and also attacked a church,’ he told CDI-MSN. ‘However, police and the district administration did not take any action against the influential accused, despite several protests by the Christian community.’

Between 400 to 450 Christians have lived in the area peaceably for decades, but recently the environment has turned hostile toward religious minorities, he said.

Fearing more attacks, he urged senior police and district administration officials to ensure the protection of the area’s Christians. ‘Sunil’s murderers are at large, and the audacity of their attack shows that they will not hesitate to strike again,’ he said.

In a separate incident in Punjab province on January 27 two Christian women, sisters-in-law aged in their 30s, were attacked in a field by the landowner who was armed with an axe and attempted to rape one of them.

Police have appeared slow to prosecute the man in Sargodha District, CDI-MSN reported.

When one of the women resisted the man’s attempt to sexually assault her, he struck her repeatedly with the axe handle, her husband told CDI-MSN. He said that when his sister tried to intervene the man attacked her too.

CDI-MSN also reported that two Christians were tortured into converting to Islam in Sialkot District last month.

Azam Masih, 28, and his brother, Nadeem, were abducted, beaten with iron rods and pressured ‘to recite the Kalima [proclamation of Islamic conversion] if they wanted to save their lives, threatening to kill them if they refused’, said Adil Ghauri, chairman of the Movement for Christian Awakening. ‘The tortured brothers had no choice but to surrender to this demand.’

In an action that offered hope of justice to Christians last week Pakistan’s Supreme Court reprimanded the Punjab Province government over its progress report on anti-Christian attacks in Jaranwala, terming it ‘worthy of being thrown into the dustbin’.

The court ordered officials to submit a new report within 10 days.

Heading a three-judge bench hearing a case in Islamabad on the rights of minorities and the August 16 attacks in Jaranwala, which left multiple churches and Christians’ homes destroyed, Chief Justice of Pakistan, Qazi Faez Isa, said that he felt ashamed after seeing the report.

‘I am feeling ashamed that only 18 challans [charge sheets] were submitted in the case in the last six months,’ Isa said. ‘We keep raising hue and cry over “Islamophobia” wherever we go in the world. But what are we doing here in Pakistan?’

Church and community leaders welcomed the chief justice’s order. ‘There’s some hope now of justice for the poor Christians of Jaranwala,’ Church of Pakistan president Bishop Azad Marshall told CDI-MSN.

Being tempted

Based on responses sometimes,, it seems some view believers as "untouchable" by the enemy. Wondering why?

Jesus was tempted while on earth (Matt 4:1-11)
"Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.
2 And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.
3 And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.
4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
5 Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,
6 And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
7 Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;
9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.
10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
11 Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him."

"Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:
27 Neither give place to the devil." Eph 4

Eph 6 "Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

11 Put on the whole armour of God, that we may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be
able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;"

Sabbath and the New Covenant

I came across a study by Roy Gane, one of the authors of books I have who is very in depth. Here are some excerpts on this issue..

Is the seventh day Sabbath a universal institution, or was it only for the literal Israelites?
My short answer to this question is: The seventh day Sabbath is universal because it was instituted at Creation for the benefit of all human beings, before the nation of Israel existed. This answer is based upon exegesis of Genesis 2:2-3, which reads:
2:2 And on the seventh day God finished the work that he had done, and he rested on the seventh day from all the work that he had done.2:3 So God blessed the seventh day and hallowed it, because on it God rested from all the work that he had done in creation.
God rested, i.e. ceased,(1) his work at the end of the Creation week because his work was done, not because he was tired (cp. Isa 40:28; Ps. 121:3-4).(2) On the seventh day he stopped to celebrate what could be regarded as the "birthday" of the world.
There is evidence that God intended not only to celebrate, but also to provide an example for human beings.

Exodus 31:17 refers to God being "refreshed" as a result of his rest on the seventh day of Creation. The verb translated "refreshed" here, i.e. npsh is used only three times in the Hebrew Bible (all Niphal stem): Exod 31:17; 2 Sam 16:14; and Exod 23:12. In 2 Samuel 16:14, the verb npsh describes David and his people recovering from fatigue induced by their flight from Absalom (2 Sam 16:14). Exodus 23:12 reiterates the Sabbath command given in the Ten Commandments (Exod 20:8-11):
23:12 Six days you shall do your work, but on the seventh day you shall rest, so that your ox and your donkey may have relief, and your homeborn slave and the resident alien may be refreshed.

In this context, rest (verb nwh) on the seventh day Sabbath clearly relieves the fatigue of human beings and animals (cp. Deut 5:14) and refreshes (verb npsh) them. Now the question arises: If the verb npsh describes relief from fatigue in Exodus 23:12 and 2 Samuel 16:14, why does Exodus 31:17 use the same word with reference to God being "refreshed"? The answer lies in the purpose of Exodus 31:12-17, which is to have God's people follow his example by resting on the seventh day of the week (Cassuto: 1967: 245,404; Sailhamer 1992: 309). Even though God did not need rest from fatigue, the Bible here speaks of him anthropomorphically(3) as receiving some kind of refreshing benefit (Sarna 1991: 202) in order to show people how to rest on the seventh day, as a result of which they would gain relief from fatigue (Exod 23:12).

Lest it should seem strange that God would do something as an example for human beings, consider two similar cases:

1. In the Israelite ritual system, the blood of a sacrificial animal was drained out and applied to the outside or horns of the altar in the courtyard (see e.g. Lev 1:5; 4:25) or to the area of the outer sanctum and the horns of the incense altar (Lev 4:6,7) with the remainder disposed of by pouring it out at the base of the outer altar (Lev 4:7). The blood did not go up to God in smoke along with the meat as a "pleasing aroma" (see e.g. Lev 1:9). Why not? Because the meat constituted a "food gift" to God (cp. Num 28:2)(4) and God had commanded the Israelites not to eat meat without draining out the blood because the blood represents the life (Lev 17:10-12; cp. Gen 9:4). By not eating blood with their meat, the Israelites acknowledged that they did not have ultimate control over life. But God did have such control. So why didn't he show it by accepting blood with his meat? Apparently because he wanted to be an example to his people, thereby practicing what he preached.

2. Jesus asked John the Baptist to baptize him, but John recognized that Jesus did not need baptism (Matt 3:13-14). Baptism symbolizes purification from sin (Rom 6:1-5), but Jesus was sinless (Heb 4:15). Nevertheless, Jesus insisted that John baptize him, saying to him:
"Let it be so now; for it is proper for us in this way to fulfill all righteousness" (Matt 3:15).
So Jesus went through the motions of baptism because it is part of a righteous human life, even though the righteousness which he already possessed transcended the fallen state and did not require baptism.

Thus far, we have found that God's rest served as an example for human Sabbath observance. But did this example begin to operate thousands of years after Creation, or did God intend for human beings to follow his example from the beginning? Jesus succinctly answered the question by declaring that "the Sabbath was made for humankind . . ." (Mk 2:27). He viewed the original purpose of the Sabbath as providing benefit to human beings. This means that when God rested on the seventh day of Creation, he did not simply intend to benefit himself.
It is true that there is nothing in the text of Genesis 2 which explicitly tells us that the Sabbath was made for human beings as Jesus later declared. Nor does Genesis state that the Sabbath is to be an on-going, cyclical event, occurring on each seventh day. However, Genesis did not need to explicitly state these things because the context makes them clear....
