  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Pray for salvation of my nephew.

Please pray for the salvation of my nephew Charlie. He has struggled with schizophrenia which was triggered by heavy drug use, but is now stable through medication, support & care. He hasn't taken drugs for many years now and he is a nice quiet guy who has been used by people. He phoned me the other night and told me he has been attending church and I urged him to keep going. Please pray that Charlie comes to know the gospel and the truth of God's word, that he accepts Christ as his Lord & savoir and that he receives the Holy Spirit to be born again.............That would be so wonderful to see Charlie find salvation after all that he has been through.................I would cry with joy.

Bless you all for praying.

For the sake of Love

I was praying today about some things, and the LORD showed me a few things. We often pray into our wants, or to try to prove God. But God is love. The reason He does things is to show His salvation and love. Say a person asked us to prophecy, God does not want us to prove anything, He wants to show that person His love. The way He does that may be allowing us to prophecy, but we need the attitude of love in doing so.

1Co 14:12 Even so you, since you are zealous for spiritual gifts, let it be for the edification of the church that you seek to excel.

The Canons of the Council in Trullo

Canon XI

"Let no one in the priestly order nor any layman eat the unleavened bread of the Jews, nor have any familiar intercourse with them, nor summon them in illness, nor receive medicines from them, nor bathe with them; but if anyone shall take in hand to do so, if he is a cleric, let him be deposed, but if a layman let him be cut off."

Please help me understand. Does our Orthodox church still enforce this in our modern times? Particularly the part about NOT seeking medical treatment or medications from a Jew? Please give a reason why or why not accordingly.

I need to know because I recently purchased some vitamins from a Jewish run company whose CEO I think is a rabbi. I didn't realize how heavily Jewish this company was until after the fact, I suspected it but didn't know an actual rabbi was possibly the owner. They don't really promote it as such but I did research after seeing some kosher symbols on the bottle. What if the CEO routinely has a Jewish priest say prayers and ceremonies over his business and product line? Would that be an issue for an EO customer? Even if he doesn't do that, would purchasing a product be an issue?

Also, hypothetically, what if "the best surgeon in town" is Jewish? Are we really not to seek out his treatment?

Note: I'm not being anti-Semitic, I am asking due to the canon above. Thank you.

Demonic activity in the 2020s from the entertainment industry

Hello folks. The 2020s have been a unique decade so far, some things good, others bad. But one common theme is demonic activity. As a kid during the 2000s and 2010s, things seemed a little more innocent. Nowadays, the level of demonic influences in our society has increased.

Here is a timeline, beginning with 2021, as that is where the demonic things really started. This list is not exhaustive, and more stuff could be added, but this is why I stay away from most pop and most rap.

2021
March '21: Rapper Lil Nas X releases the Satan Shoes, a foot garment designed with demonic imagery and has soles which contain one drop of human blood. The same guy released a music video containing himself lap dancing on the devil.

2022
August '22: Pop musician Demi Lovato releases the album Holy [censored], wearing a bondage outfit while laying on top of a cross in the album artwork.
September '22: Sam Smith, a UK singer releases the song "Unholy", garnering attention from the media. The song features demonic lyrics about adultery over an Arabic style melody.
October '22: Elon Musk wears a demon costume for Halloween, featuring the goat of Baphomet and demonic inscriptions to a red carpet event.

2023
February '23: Sam Smith's "Unholy" is performed at the 65th Grammy Awards, depicting Satanic imagery and dancing. Numerous FCC complaints have been made, as the show was broadcast on live television.

November '23: Sabrina Carpenter, a pop star showcased herself in a lewd position on top of a Catholic altar in NYC. The pastor of the church where the music video was recorded was disciplined by the Brooklyn Bishop.

2024
January '24: Amazon Video publishes Hazbin Hotel, a cartoon featuring Satan in a positive light along with Lilith.

July '24: Olympics opening ceremony mocks the Last Supper.

Rome Newsroom, Mar 1, 2024 / 13:45 pm

Pope Francis met with the superior general of the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter (FSSP) on Thursday, confirming that restrictions on the celebration of the Traditional Latin Mass don’t apply to the order.

The private meeting between the pope and Father Andrzej Komorowski, who was accompanied by two priests from his order, came at the invitation of Pope Francis and followed a request from the FSSP.

According to a press release from the FSSP, the meeting was an opportunity to showcase “deep gratitude to the Holy Father” and to discuss the “liturgical specificity of the Fraternity of St. Peter.”

The FSSP was established on July 18, 1988, as a society of apostolic life of pontifical right by the Holy See, a canonical status that was granted by Pope John Paul II.

At the heart of the FSSP’s charism is the celebration of the Mass and the sacraments according to the extraordinary form of the Roman rite, also known as the Tridentine Mass, Traditional Latin Mass, or “Usus Antiquior.”

What do you think of Religion VS True Christianity...(Yes even Christianity can be a religion, created by its own devotees).

I used to be a part of that "system" until I tried to commit suicide, with a 12 gauge loaded with double ought.

Finally I go home, to recover, thinking God must hate me now, and all of a sudden God speaks.

This changed my life. He spoke and my views on true Christianity, compared to what exists in the world today were transformed forever.

This allowed me to somehow (not by effort by myself, in fact it had nothing to do with me, it just came about by Him speaking to me) live the life of Hebrews CH 4, to "REST" in Him...

This is what I believe is the end game, to rest. Jesus did the work, what is the result? Better yet, have you ever seen a newborn, resting in it's mothers arms? That baby trusts her so much, their relationship so bonded, that all that baby has to do is rest in the works of the mother. As Hebrews says God rested from His works, and we must also "CEASE" from our own works.

I do not strife, to be XY or Z... I don't bemoan that I need to be more patient, or spiritual, this is all carnal religious flesh. We must see from God's view, what He desires. Jesus says it is to trust/believe 0n Him.

I am just sharing, from my experiences with God, not judging anyone. Why am I not judging? Because before GOD DID THIS FOR ME, I was living a life of sin, failure, not even understanding the scriptures or His role or my own, in this relationship, He granted me. I failed for 40+ years, every single day, I sinned. Caught in it's trap.

BUT NOW, my understanding has changed totally, but not by my own hand, this was gifted to me. I understand the garden / fall was not a mistake, God killed Jesus, not the romans or Jewish religious leadership. I understand that Sin is in the flesh, this body we live in, it can NEVER be improved, we are to live in Spirit (recon that to be a fact, more real than the flesh).

This was all God's plan, there have been no failures or plan B. How do we know this? Because in the beginning, God wrote a book. In that book were names, those would be the ones that Jesus saved, that God would draw, that Jesus said He would never lose, and since this book was written in the very beginning, that reveals that God already had this all planned out in His mind. Satan would be in the garden with Jesus, Adam would sin, Jesus would come, then die and rise from the dead.

Global warming pushes ocean temperatures off the charts

Global warming pushes ocean temperatures off the charts: study

In 2023, the world's oceans took up an enormous amount of excess heat, enough to "boil away billions of Olympic-sized swimming pools," according to an annual report published Thursday.
...

In 2023, the oceans soaked up around 9 to 15 zettajoules more than in 2022, according to the respective estimates from the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the Chinese Institute of Atmospheric Physics (IAP).

One zettajoule of energy is roughly equivalent to ten times the electricity generated worldwide in a year.

In the News

The purpose of this thread is two-fold:

Sharing current events on your heart via article, podcast or video. It needn't be recent. The most important factor is your response to the situation and desire to bring it to light.

While discussion is possible elsewhere I would like to see a Christ driven reply from readers and participants. It is not a forum for debate or finger wagging. The greater purpose is holy engagement. Heaven moves on prayer and that's the primary reason for its creation.

When posting please include a link, brief description (copy and paste is fine), personal comments if applicable and prayer request. It needn't be in depth. Please pray for (circumstance) and the desired outcome if apropos.

Scriptural Support

For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

The heartfelt and persistent prayer of a righteous man (believer) is able to accomplish much [when put into action and made effective by God—it is dynamic and can have tremendous power].

First of all, then, I urge that petitions (specific requests), prayers, intercessions (prayers for others) and thanksgivings be offered on behalf of all people, for kings and all who are in [positions of] high authority, so that we may live a peaceful and quiet life in all godliness and dignity.

Note: If desired, a complimentary thread may be established in other forums to promote the same. God Bless.

Montana judge declares 3 laws restricting abortion unconstitutional (they were already blocked by an injunction)

The laws, passed by the Montana legislature in 2021, would have banned abortion at 20 weeks, barred doctors from prescribing medication abortions via telehealth services, required a 24-hour waiting period for medication abortions, and would have required doctors to offer an ultrasound before an abortion.

The laws had been blocked by a preliminary injunction that was granted in October 2021. Under the court's ruling, the laws cannot be enforced.

Krueger's decision referenced a Montana Supreme Court precedent from 1999 finding the state's constitutional right to privacy protects access to pre-viability abortion. The state's high court reaffirmed that precedent in a ruling last spring.

Marital Sex Life While Still Living in Parents' Home

Aloha,

I'm a 33 year old male who will be soon marrying a 35 year old woman from the Philippines. My fiance just turned 35 a few days ago.

We plan on living with my parents on their property, while we are building a separate home that is on the same land as my parents. This would help us save money rather than renting a home for ourselves.

My parents and my fiance are in support of this. However, when I discuss the issue of being intimate with my significant other, she is somewhat shy and nervous about the possibility of us having sex in my parents' house. My fiance thinks it might be disrespectful but I'm trying to persuade her that it isn't, since there are couples out there who are intimate while they are living with families. My parents' house is fairly big, and we can find privacy for our time to be intimate. Although, my fiance still kind of nervous about it, and I'm kind of frustrated that I won't be able to be intimate with her if she is not willing to be intimate with me in my parents' place. It will take probably 6-8 months for our house to be built on my parents' land. I want to save money just as much as my fiance, and just as my parents want us to save money. We are blessed with our situation.

However, I'm often anxious about the prospect that my fiance is getting older, and that we have only so many years to have a child of our own. We both want a child, at least two children. Of course, to do so means we have to be regularly engaged in sex.

Likewise, my fiance has a lower sex drive than me. We discuss this openly that I need more intimacy than she does, and that my fiance even proposed to have only three times a week of sex, but I think it should be at least once a day, or once every other day.

So, I suppose my question is how do I get my fiance to feel comfortable about us having sex in my parents' home, and also how do I reconcile our sex drives? How do I get my fiance to be as interested in lovemaking as I am?

A massive Texas wildfire is now the largest on record in the state (1 million+ acres burned)

LINK

As snow and rain showers moved across the Texas Panhandle early Thursday, a wildfire grew into the state’s largest on record, with fears it could again spread rapidly when hot and windy weather returns this weekend.

The Smokehouse Creek fire had burned 1,050,000 acres in Texas by early Thursday morning, and had also spread across 25,000 acres into Oklahoma, the Texas A&M Forest Service said. Another fire, the 687 Reamer fire, had also spread into the footprint of the Smokehouse Creek fire.

The fires killed one person, an 83-year-old woman in the town of Stinnett, Tex., the Associated Press reported.

Fueling the Smokehouse Creek were abnormal winter heat that set records across the Lone Star State, plus strong winds as a cold front approached in recent days. Temperatures surged into the 80s and 90s across the state early this week, including a high of 82 in Amarillo on Monday.

One argument I keep seeing in threads regarding trans in women's and girls' sports is that there are enough differences in biologic women/girls themselves that the tiny percentate of trans in the sports doesn't matter. However, we have separate sports for women and girls for a very specific reason, and that's because biologic males on significantly outperform biologic females in most sports on average.

But maybe that difference in men and women is unfairly exaggerated. I don't think it is. If it's okay for biologic males to participate in female sports, what's the point of having female sports at all? Maybe it's time to end the sex discrimination.

I'm okay with allowing trans if they fall within physical limits, as determined by the sports association.

Do you think priests should announce before distributing Holy Communion that if you have any unconfessed mortal sin you can't receive the Eucharist?

I like some of the posts I see in r/Catholicism and felt like they're worth reposting here as conversation starters. Here's the OP's question from there:

I often wonder about this. Before I knew much about Church teaching, I didn’t know you couldn’t receive Holy Communion if you hadn’t been to confession for a mortal sin committed. Because the catechesis is so poor in some places, I’m guessing many Catholics are currently where I was. I even heard one woman say that confession was “Not a thing anymore,” I’m guessing the priests are probably aware of how poor things are, so I wonder if they should be responsible for instructing people about this? 1 Corinthians 11:29 speaks on the importance of discerning before partaking in the Eucharist and the judgement that occurs if not done. I know the majority of people in my parish probably haven’t been to confession in months, maybe years. I’m not trying to judge, it’s just the truth and in some cases may not even be their fault because they just don’t know they have to go. So what do you think, should the priest announce that anyone with a mortal sin cannot partake in communion or not?

This is something I think about a lot at Mass. Sometimes I even question my own family's choices to go forward, because they go to confession less often than I do (I don't say that to sound pious, I just have reason to go as often as possible, perhaps they don't). It might be the most important area of catechesis a priest could do from the pulpit since who knows how many people are wrongly coming forward to receive, even just by mistakenly identifying a sin as venial when maybe it's mortal.

Blessing in Revelation 14: 13 blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on

Revelation 14: 13 Then I heard a voice from heaven saying to me, "Write: 'Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.'" NKJV

Jesus deals with Babylon in chapter 14. In verse 13 John records a voice from heaven saying those who die in the Lord from now on are blessed. Revelation for the most part is God dealing with the unsaved by pouring out His wrath. Death and destruction worldwide is a setting most people wouldn't feel blessed during, especially if one has to die to get the blessing.

Daniel 12:11 "And from the time that the daily sacrifice is taken away, and the abomination of desolation is set up, there shall be one thousand two hundred and ninety days. 12 Blessed is he who waits and comes to the one thousand three hundred and thirty-five days. NKJV

Daniel records a blessing corresponding to the same time period. Blessed are those who wait on the Lord and come to day 1335. I say the time of both blessings is the same. Why would a Christian be blessed after God deals with Babylon?

Revelation 17: 6 I saw the woman, drunk with the blood of the saints and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. And when I saw her, I marveled with great amazement. 7 But the angel said to me, "Why did you marvel? I will tell you the mystery of the woman and of the beast that carries her, which has the seven heads and the ten horns. 8 The beast that you saw was, and is not, and will ascend out of the bottomless pit and go to perdition. And those who dwell on the earth will marvel, whose names are not written in the Book of Life from the foundation of the world, when they see the beast that was, and is not, and yet is. 9 "Here is the mind which has wisdom: The seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman sits. 10 There are also seven kings. Five have fallen, one is, and the other has not yet come. And when he comes, he must continue a short time. 11 The beast that was, and is not, is himself also the eighth, and is of the seven, and is going to perdition. NKJV

Babylon sits on seven hills and is the place where the Holy Roman, Catholic, Church's headquarters are. If this is true and God destroys the church they must be considered to be tares by God. Tares are people claiming to be Christians but are not true believers. The tares may not realize their religion is false. If a person who claims to be a Christian is still alive after the angels send the tares to hell they are blessed. If they did not know they were a child of God before, it's a certainty now. That would have to be a tremendous boost to their faith.

Matthew 13: 30 Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, "First gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn."' NKJV

At the time of the harvest, the Lords Day, the tares will be harvested before all other sinners. The sixth trumpet, chapter 9, is the first time in the book of Revelation when angels are sent out to kill unbelievers and send them to hell. Their destruction is also described in later chapters of Revelation.

Matthew 13:37 He answered and said to them: "He who sows the good seed is the Son of Man. 38 The field is the world, the good seeds are the sons of the kingdom, but the tares are the sons of the wicked one........................41 The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who practice lawlessness, 42 and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth. 43 Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear! NKJV

The tares are harvested before Jesus gathers His church. At this time the Christians will shine forth like the stars in heaven.

Daniel 12: 3 Those who are wise shall shine Like the brightness of the firmament, And those who turn many to righteousness Like the stars forever and ever. NKJV

This is a blessing as it will be the best time in the last 2000 years for Christians to witness. Within 50 years of Jesus' death Christians had to deal with tares polluting the true doctrine. After God deals with them there will be no tares to confuse the unsaved with false doctrine. No tares to turn people away from Christianity by their outrageous and unchristian behavior.

Christians will be blessed because they will shine like the stars. Their testimony will be loud and clear. Plus if they are slain because of their witness they get the blessing from Revelation 14: 13.

Behold, I show you a mystery; we shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed...

Peace in Christ.

God …the Father of us all in Heaven….sent His Son….His ONLY begotten Son through whom we are saved.

John 3:16-18 KJV
(16) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
(17) For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
(18) He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

It His only begotten Son (and not another “son” of the church “fathers”….a jesus barabbas) that we are to believe into so that we should not perish (mortally die) from this world but shall have an age-lasting life. “Barabbas” = “son of father”. They want us to choose their “jesus” the “son” of their church fathers.

Mat 27:16-17
(16) And they had then a notable prisoner, called Barabbas.
(17) Therefore when they were gathered together, Pilate said unto them, Whom will ye that I release unto you? (JESUS) Barabbas, or Jesus which is called Christ?

When we choose the Jesus who is the true Christ…believing into Him…we shall continue to live to the end of this age where then (at the last trump) this mortal (subject to die….meaning having not mortally died yet but liable to) shall put on immortality. We, who will not "sleep", will be changed...going from mortal to immortal.

1Co 15:51-55 KJV
(51) Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
(52) In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

We will then have completely defeated death in Him having not died mortally (we who believe into Him shall not “sleep”) throughout the remainder of this present evil age unto the moment….the “event horizon”…of the putting on of His immortality.

The last enemy to be defeated is death….and we shall have lived mortally until that moment when we achieve complete victory over death in Christ Jesus…the only begotten Son of the Father in Heaven. "Mortal"....subject to die mortal bodies....meaning we have not been put to "sleep"...that is, mortal death ...like those who have not received the true gospel of our mortal salvation.

(53) For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
(54) So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
(55) O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?

Do not let a fleshly-minded man (who has no understanding of this true gospel of salvation) disqualify you from the receiving of His age-lasting (“eternal”) life in this earth.

He is throwing up a “road block” to obtaining the age-lasting life. He is putting up a stumbling stone where we ignorantly trip over and fall into the grave.

He seeks to “spoil” you through his church handwriting which is patterned after the “rudiments” (the founding principles) of the world. The outside world has their “handwritings” ….their documents (constitutions, statutes, ordinances ,etc) which they govern and judge themselves with rather than be in God’s government.

Col 2:8 KJV

(8) Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

They…puffed up fleshly-minded men… want you to receive and serve their another jesus who is served by church “handwriting of ordinances/dogmas”. They want to lead you into bondage….and death.

But their church scribes’ handwritings are against us. They are contrary to us. They prevent us from taking hold of “eternal life”…an age-lasting life to be had in this current mortal body. They put a complete stop to obtaining an age-lasting life. We miss the mark of obtaining the prize: an age-lasting life in this world. They beguile of our reward….an age-lasting life…of worshipping their messengers…their handwritings.

Col 2:18 KJV
(18) Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,

We perish with the using up of the doctrines and commandments of men which are only graven “images”. They are “shadows”…images.

Col 2:14-17 KJV
(14) Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

(15) And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

Man wanting to be teachers of the Law come up with their own images of the Law through their church handwritings…and they JUDGE others with them. But they are “shadows”…images.

(16) Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
(17) Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

A “graven image” is a church scribe’s handwriting of ordinances that is “set up”…a standing image…. in the churches of fleshly-minded men for them to serve and worship.

They use them to judge. We must get rid of these things and do God’s commandments instead and His commandments are written upon our hearts. The LORD is our “God” (Elohim)….that is, JUDGE…and not a church handwriting…..not another “god”…another judge. God and His commandments are our Judge…not a man’s handwriting.

Lev 26:1 KJV
(1) Ye shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up any image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am the LORD your God.

Desiring to be teachers of the Law….they do not know what they say nor what they are affirming….making stable/rigid through their handwritings…their graven images.

1Ti 1:7-11 KJV
(7) Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm.
(8) But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully;

The Law is good if it is used lawfully….for giving the knowledge of sin to those who are lawless and disobedient…..

(9) Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,
(10) For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;
(11) According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust.

We use the Law lawfully by giving the knowledge of sin to the lawless: You shall have no other “gods”…that is, JUDGES…before Him. A church scribe’s handwriting of ordinances are being used to judge others with.

Exo 20:3-5 KJV
(3) Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

They are “graven images” that are patterned after the outside world’s documents (their constitutions, their statutes, etc). We must not copy them in these things. God’s commandments are written upon our hearts and not in the handwritings of man’s ordinances of which God did not write for us to serve and worship.

(4) Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
(5) Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;

Gaza in prophecy

What is happening now in Gaza, was foretold by zepheniah.
Judgment on Judah's Enemies (KJV)
Zep 2:1 Gather yourselves together, yea, gather together, O nation not desired;
Zep 2:2 Before the decree bring forth, before the day pass as the chaff, before the fierce anger of the LORD come upon you, before the day of the LORD'S anger come upon you.
Zep 2:3 Seek ye the LORD, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought his judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye shall be hid in the day of the LORD'S anger.
Zep 2:4 For Gaza shall be forsaken, and Ashkelon a desolation: they shall drive out Ashdod at the noon day, and Ekron shall be rooted up.
Zep 2:5 Woe unto the inhabitants of the sea coast, the nation of the Cherethites! the word of the LORD isagainst you; O Canaan, the land of the Philistines, I will even destroy thee, that there shall be no inhabitant.
Zep 2:6 And the sea coast shall be dwellings andcottages for shepherds, and folds for flocks.
Zep 2:7 And the coast shall be for the remnant of the house of Judah; they shall feed thereupon: in the houses of Ashkelon shall they lie down in the evening: for the LORD their God shall visit them, and turn away their captivity.

Jesus did not come to destroy the law

Matthew 5:17 "Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. 18 For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. NKJV

Jesus did not come to destroy the law; He came to fulfill the law and prophets.

Ephesians 2:14 For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation, 15 having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace, 16 and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity. NKJV

By His fulfilling the law and prophets (perfect adherence), He abolished the law that put enmity between Jew and Gentile. The law also put enmity between God and man.

1 Corinthians 15:56 The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. NKJV

Sin has lost its strength to produce death in all men. Before Jesus came there was no other choice for mankind but to die in sin because all men are sinners. God had a plan to end sin and those who believed He would end their sin were separated from those who did not believe. Everyone, before Jesus came, died in sin.

Romans 8:3 For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh NKJV.

Once Jesus succeeded in overcoming sin mankind had a choice. He could remain a flesh being and stay in sin.

Ephesians 1:13 In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, 14 who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory. NKJV

Or he could become a sinless spirit being by believing in the Son of God.

Romans 8:9 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His. NKJV

If they remained in the Spirit, of Jesus, they would die a sinless spirit son of God.

Romans 7: 25 I thank God — through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, with the mind I myself serve the law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin. NKJV

Sons of God choose to serve the law of God. They agree that God's law is correct, good and right.

Romans 8:13 For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. NKJV

They choose to die, by the Spirit, rather than continue to sin thereby putting to death the sins of the flesh. Or they will choose to help the Spirit put to death the sins of the flesh one/two/multiple at a time.

Matthew 16:24 Then Jesus said to His disciples, "If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. 25 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. 26 For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? 27 For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works. NKJV

By denying their fleshly desires they are following Jesus and proving their discipleship. These are sons of God.

Sons of God are judged by Christ when they die. They are judged for rewards not punishment. Do they pay for their sins? No! Jesus paid for the sins of everyone He redeems.

devotion

In 1986, John Piper nearly quit as minister of a large
church. At that time he admitted in his journal:
“I am so discouraged. I am so blank.
I feel like there are opponents on every hand.”
But Piper didn’t walk away, and God used him to
lead a thriving ministry that would eventually
reach far beyond his church.
Although success is a word easily misunderstood,
we might call John Piper successful. But what if
his ministry had never flourished?
God gave the prophet Jeremiah a direct call.
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,”
God said. “Before you were born I set
you apart” (Jer. 1:5).
God encouraged him not to fear his enemies,
“for I am with you and will rescue you” (v. 8).
Jeremiah later lamented his commission with ironic
language for a man with a prenatal calling. “Alas, my
mother, that you gave me birth, a man with whom the
whole land strives and contends!” (15:10).
God did protect Jeremiah, but his ministry never thrived.
His people never repented. He saw them slaughtered,
enslaved, and scattered. Yet despite a lifetime of
discouragement and rejection, he never walked away.
He knew that God didn’t call him to success but to
faithfulness. He trusted the God who called him.
Jeremiah’s resilient compassion shows us the heart
of the Father, who yearns for everyone to turn to Him.

Do you sense a call from God? Where in your
calling have you encountered discouragement?
How do you define success, and how do you react to
it when you experience it?

When some hear God and others don't. The impact can be very important.

We went thru a very difficult time, as Americans this last 4 years... What amazed me was what I heard, from the Lord, but more than that, what my friends, neighbors, and even my family did NOT hear. Let me give you a couple examples.

When the news hit about the vax, I was walking past the TV, the news was on. They were talking about the shot.. All of a sudden, the Lord speaks and says "They are lying to you"

Then when news hit about the Ukraine war, I knew, Putin (even though a bad man) was not the bad guy in this, it was US.

So to my shock none of my family or Christian friends were hearing anything, and or definitely not the same thing as myself.

Now if it wasn't for my long history with the Lord and hearing His voice, and seeing it never fail, I guess I could say oh well, I guess I'm wrong. But I can not.

I'm still trying to sort thru all of this. But you can see my dilemma. Blessings
