Do you ever feel like you are drowning in a sea of too much information and too little truth? It's easy to find yourself feeling polluted and alienated from God. Often, when we are going through a trial, that is when we find ourselves most in need of truth, but find ourselves believing the lies of the enemy about our situation (lies like hopelessness, despair, and anger).

The only place we will find absolute Truth is in God's word.
John 1:1-2 (Amplified Version) tells us that in the beginning [before all time] was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself. He was [continually existing] in the beginning [co-eternally] with God.

Did you catch that? Jesus was the Word from the beginning. So when we don't understand, when we hurt, when we are sinking in the mire of this old world, when we have prayed every prayer we know to pray, we can go to straight to the Source for our comfort! Our lack of understanding is often a lack of knowing His word.
    • Read...study and learn!
    • Read...eat your DAILY bread (He is he Bread of Life!)
    • Read...and live by His words.
Jesus freely offers us a real relationship with Him, and He invites us to know him intimately. We get to know him best through His word. When you sit down to read, look for Jesus in every verse. Don't give up no matter what your situation is! The more your flesh says "I don't want to read the Bible," you fight all the harder to pick it up and cling to His words! Lift up your eyes to your Redeemer...He really, truly loves you, and whether you feel it or not, He is right there with you, guiding you, helping you, carrying you. In the midst of your pain, praise Him.
    Revelation 7:12:
    Blessing, and glory, and wisdom,
and thanksgiving, and honor, and power,
and might, be unto our God for ever and ever.

Jesus would have related to this post during His earthly ministry, and He set us the example to get away from all the "talk" of the world at times, and talk to God, and allow God to talk to you, giving Him your full attention. Thank You for these "words of direction" Margaret!!

You'll be pleased to know I open my Bible up every day. The next issue will be actually reading it regularly.

I INTEND to open (and read) every day. I don't. They tell me the highway to hell is paved with good intentions.

      You are so funny. ☺
