Paul's Prayer Habit

Immediately after his conversion Paul was introduced to us in Acts 9:11 by the Lord himself whom he had encountered on the way to Damascus. Now this was Jesus testimony of what was happening in Paul's private life after he got converted to the Lord.

Acts 9:11, "And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the street which is called Straight, and enquire in the house of Judas for one called Saul, of Tarsus: for, behold, he prayeth

What a fitting introduction to the greatest Apostle: " behold he prayeth", this was where it all began for Paul. The journey ahead for him will require the help of God, and the help of God will respond to the cries of men. Like David said 'I will lift up my eyes to the Lord to the Hill from whence cometh my help'. Without God's help(grace) we are helpless on the earth. Paul later testified in Acts 26:22 that "having obtained help of God, I continued unto this day...". Those who receive the help of God are not wearied by the journey of life! Wearied souls are helpless souls, helpless souls are prayerless souls! Tiredness in the journey of life occurs when you are disconnected from the source of life and help!

Paul obtained help, supernatural help, grace, divine backing, call it whatever you like, from day one in the place of prayer. It became His habit! Paul was habitually reliant on God! This is why he enjoined us in 1 Thessalonians 5:17 to 'Pray without ceasing'. Now don't be mistaken Paul wasn't preaching here. Paul was letting us in into what made him thick. This was not a sermon note from Paul it was a life note of a man that was habitually living a life of prayer. Quickly we will see many scriptures and i will love that you to take time and read and see how Paul literally lived, breathe and move in prayers and consequently in the grace and power of God!

Romans 1:9,"For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers"
Ephesians 1:16, "Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers"
Philippians 1:3-4, "I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy"
Colossians 1:3, "We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you"
2 Timothy 1:3, "I thank God, whom I serve from my forefathers with pure conscience, that without ceasing I have remembrance of thee in my prayers night and day;"
(Other scriptures: 2 Corinthians 6:4-6, Galatians 4:19, 1 Thessalonians 3:9, 2 Thessalonians 1:3, Philemon 1:4)

In all of these scriptures examined above Paul was either praying without ceasing, or always in prayers and at other times he prayed "exceedingly" night and day! This is the private life of the man who shook the world during his time and much more after he has left the scene. He had this testimony in
2 Corinthians 2:14, "Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place". Paul led a life of constant victories because he led a life of constant prayers.
