There were stones around useful for a base to walls that they found around the creek when they reached but there were only shrubs anywhere nearby, and they did not get wood as long as they wanted, for adding support. They used plenty of leaves still, mixed in with muddy earth around there, and worked that morning on walls to four structures that might be used later.
They gathered water enough for them to drink, and there were blackberries on shrubs nearby which they gathered from. But the sun rose higher and it grew warm, and all of them were tired, so as they could not enter the new structures yet though these would dry quickly they all chose places now shaded by the structures, and soon were sleeping there.
No animate life was seen around there which was good as all were too tired and no one wanted to stay awake longer to be a watch for the others.
