This giant percher that came and spoke with her said, "These few bigwalkers that have been seen come out from the great forest and remaining near the edge of it are seen to gather berries and then sit near there eating them, and gathering more to do the same, and they eventually go back into the forest. They have not been seen catching any animals, and it is doubtful they eat any. They might be aggressive but only if they sense a threat, and so they do not chase after any animals, and it would be none of you either. It is probably best for you to just keep your distance from any of them. But, there is a large predatory animal seen in the area, there might be others of those too."
"Please do tell me what you can of that predator."
"This animal walks on four limbs, and is at the shoulders up to about half your height. That one has a coat of fur, and its head is elongated forward with a narrowing snout, and there are pointy ears going above its head. It has a furry tail, too. This animal runs fast, and catches some squirrels, beavers, and rats around here but was seen chasing some small group of sheep and catching one, which that one was then eating."
Hillariah said, "There are such animals known to us, from before. Maybe this is that kind of animal, which we did not know would be here."
