The books of Psalms remain one of the most powerful books when it comes to the subject of trusting in the Lord, in which the desperate times we are in calls for. Not many will agree with the truth of that statement hence the reason why David penned these memorable words in Psalm 20:7-10
"Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God. They are brought down and fallen: but we are risen, and stand upright. Save, Lord: let the king hear us when we call"
What a word from the Lord, those who trust in him will stand strong in the face of challenges, crisis, and turmoil of life! Earlier in Psalm 5:11, the Bible tells us,
"But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee. For thou, Lord, wilt bless the righteous; with favor wilt thou compass him as with a shield."
Here we see another benefit of trusting in the Lord, God becomes our defender even in the faces of what we cannot defend ourselves against.
Whether we like it or not, at the moment, the world appears defenseless against the scourge of the demonic virus ravaging through the nations of the Land. As at the time of writing this there is not any cure for this demonic virus raging across the face of the continent. There is some health personnel who even claims in secrets that even people who have recovered from the virus, about 50% of them will likely suffer from lung damages with many of them having the need to be on drugs for all their lives! So apart from the fact that there are no cures, the recoveries are not total!
When I started the covid series, as at the time of my first article only 150 nations of the world have been affected with 198,178 cases, 81729 recoveries and 7965. Now as I write this the last update from WHO suggests that the number of nations affected now has risen to 191, with 332,966 cases recorded. Of these over 100000 recoveries are noted but the death toll stands at 14,511. That means barely one week from the last article the number of deaths has increased by 100% and a further 41 nations affected. By the time you will be reading this the figures would have changed. Nigeria as of last week only had 3 cases reported, but as of today has 36 cases, 2 recovered and it's first death recorded from covid-19. These definitely are trying times. At the present rates of infection if not stopped there is likely hood that over 60% of the world population can be infected by this virus and potential death of 1 billion people! That's five times more what I suggested in the first article. I won't get into the details of these new stats but trust me they are true!
I need to push out all these figures so you know we are not nearer to a solution than when we first began. Maybe the only positive in this is that there are no new reported cases in China, the nation from where this all began, but this doesn't mean there is no likelihood of new infections as the borders of China are still opened to other foreign nationals coming in. Indeed Wuhan would only be able to celebrate its victory over the covid-19 when in fourteen days no new cases are reported. Hopefully, they will!
In spite of all efforts by the Trump administration to curb the spread in the US, yet the number of deaths is increasing by the day. Spain has been on lockdown for a while and yet they have cross 2000+ people in deaths and most notably is Italy who has now surpassed China in the number of deaths. And if the reports are true it was said that the Italy Prime minister broke down in his broadcast in tears uttering these words:
"We have lost control; we have killed the epidemic physically and mentally. I can't understand what more we can do, all solutions are exhausted on the ground. Our only hope remains up in the Sky, God rescue your people"
There are even two reports that suggest that firstly, the story of no new cases of infection been recorded in China cannot be believed. And before this, it was suggested that the number of people been reported by the government to have died is under-reported and it's the same vibes we are getting from Iran. In fact, the allegation of a whistle-blower from China is that over 500000 deaths have already been recorded and covered up by the governments. How true? We don't know. Who do we trust? I don't know or do you?
Talking about managing figures. It is the same allegations or at least silent notions around the quarters in Nigeria here that the numbers been reported is not the true definition of what is on the ground. As at the time of this writing, 36 cases recorded. And 98% of them are people coming into the country who have been advised to "self isolate", and advise which many of these people don't give a damn about. I have heard the tales of many friends of friends who just came into the country and have refused to isolate themselves freely mingling with the ones at home. And in a nation where testing for covid-19 are not readily available or medical facilities, beds or ventilators available to deal with a large outbreak, you can be sure this virus has spread more than anyone will admit to.
This is not just the reality for Nigeria but for many African countries who as a result of lack of good governance does not have the health care facilities, equipment or personnel to deal with what US, Uk, Spain, Italy, Germany and indeed the rest of the developed nations are finding hard to deal with.
Bill Gates during a Reddit Q&A session gave a response to a certain question that highlights the danger that African nations will face in the coming days. He said and I quote here:
"I worry about all the economic damage but even worse will be how this will affect the developing countries who cannot do the social distancing the same way as rich countries and whose hospital capacity is much lower"
Bill Gates even recognized the problem of the African nations. Our call for social distancing will not work as long as we close some places and leave the more volatile places open. And then there are the health facilities or personnel which will never be enough.
Are you trusting and thinking that by washing your hands regularly and not shaking you will be preserved? Yes, you should observe this washing of hands very well for even the Bible recommends it. But the latest info from WHO says that the virus is airborne and can stay there for eight hours!
Any hope of any vaccine been developed? There are one or two companies who said they have something that could deal with the virus and its attendants health challenges! However, they said what they have can only be made available to health workers who are on the field fighting and it's because to be able to produce on a commercial scale that will meet the need of the society it will take a year to accomplish that. What do we do between now and a year when the virus is spreading like wildfire through the nations of the earth?
By now you must be wondering what is my goal.in writing all of this? I know at this point you must be tired and wondered where is help coming from? I have deliberately painted all the scenarios above not so you could fear but so you can know that as far as covid-19 is concerned the whole of humanity is at their wit end!
Like I said in the last article, science has given us a definition of this crisis, only God can give us a lasting solution to this crisis! The solution will come through the supernatural move of God in the land healing the nations by himself and supernaturally ridden the earth of this plague. It just goes like that. God can do that. And the solution can also come by science happening on discovery in medicine to stem this tide! In other words, even scientific solutions are as allowed by God. Every solution remains hidden until it is revealed by God!
There is only one way out of this then, GOD!

Do you trust in our world leaders? They are at their wit end. Some of them are even in isolation for fear of having contracted the virus after exposure to people who have contacted it!
You trust in social distancing and the rest, yet someone posted on his twitter handle that despite washing of hand, distancing and all of that yet he still tested positive!
What else do you trust in to get us out of this situation we are in?
By now you should be humble, I hope so. For each time there is an outbreak of plague and pestilence, though not from God, yet God always wants his people humbled before him! We all know this scripture in 2 Chronicles 7:14
" If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive"
But what is it that God does or allows to get his people to this state? We found the answer in 2 Chronicles 7:13
"If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people"
These are the things God allows to humble his people: NO RAIN, BAD HARVEST, and PESTILENCE/PLAGUE of a viral nature! When we see all of these scenarios happening at one time or the other it means it is time to get back to God. It is time to trust in the LORD!
This is time to look up to the HILLS from whence cometh our help, our help comes from the Lord which made heaven and the earth. At this point and time in human history, PRAYER is the only resort and hope of humanity! Unshakeable trust in God is what will make you unshakeable in the midst of the storm! I am going to shout this loud on top of the house to hear: Christ is the only way out of this crisis!
And this is the essence of this COVID SERIES, to draw our attention as believers to our greatest source of strength in times of trouble, and that is in God. Remember the first broadcast on this series I mentioned that it is TIME TO SHINE THE LIGHT. The good news before this broadcast is that God through the mouths of his prophet and servants has spoken ahead about what is happening now. Joseph Prince of Singapore, Tony Rapu of Nigeria, Prophet Emmanuel Makandiwa of Zambia spoke in unmistakable terms and at different times about global havoc that will come because of the outbreak of a virus or a certain plague. In future series, I will document and transcript those prophecies for us. But in all the gloom all the prophecies agreed on these things.
•God will rescue His people
•God will empower his people to deal with what is coming
•And through this God will distinguish his people! It will be a time of separation for us and from the world.
I am hard-pressed to say this but I hear clearly, the global pain is just beginning it is time to find your place in God!
But also I hear from Isaiah 52:1-2 what we must do:
‘Awake, awake; put on thy strength, O Zion; put on thy beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city: for henceforth there shall no more come into thee the uncircumcised and the unclean".
When Zion puts on her strength there is no way any uncircumcised or unclean thing will come into her! I prophesy to you no unclean virus will come into your life! Whether airborne or hand bore, no evil virus will come into your life. Amen.
Zion must put on her strength. Remember the Bible says if we fail in the days of adversity it is because our strength is small. Our strength comes from trusting in the Lord and we demonstrate that trust when we take on board the admonition from 2 Chronicles 7:14 when we go before the Lord in prayers crying out to him to rescue us!I
