  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

JESUS GETS A PROMOTION I was amazed to find that Wuest in his Greek Word Studies of the New Testament doesn't even address 1Pe 3:22. I guess he thought the words were clear enough that THEY didn't need any further explanation. It is a verse I have spent little time on in the past, but...

In the Bible there are a number of places where various sins are listed for us. Consider the following four passages, stopping on each sin listed to consider it individually, and see if you "relate" to any of these sins. Remember "If we confess our sins (in repentance, turning from them) he is...

PARADISE Paradise suggests to some a blue sky, majestic mountains in the distance presenting a glorious waterfall into a vast bluish pool before you, surrounded by lush trees and plants, some bearing varieties of delectable fruits to eat. You stand on a glorious field of green grass this...

WHAT GOD SHOULD RECEIVE FROM US Revelation 4:11 says "Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power; for thou hast created all things, and for they pleasure, they are, and were created." "Glory." Credit and praise and recognition for Who He is, what He has done, what...

PSALM 116:15 "Precious in the sight of the Lord, is the death of his saints." Let's break this short verse into four parts and consider each of them separately to give us a better appreciation of this "precious" verse. The first part is the word "precious"...

Most Bibles render 2Co 5:1 as saying we have a "house FROM God" when we die and go to Heaven. Teachings on this have always seemed vague to me. Recently I saw it in a new light and wrote the following Bible Study for my church's newsletter. I would like to get some feedback from people on CF...

Seeing I just found out why the Christian Forum program/website doesn't highlight verse addresses for Acts as it does the other books of the Bible, (the English: America Standard Version being used calls that book "Acts of the Apostles") I thought I would write this blog for my own sake to test...

"He that eateth my flesh and drinketh my blood dwelleth in me and I in him." John 6:56 What a blessing it is for the Christian, living on this earth, to realize that they are not alone in this world, or distant from God and Christ, but that Christ (along with the rest of the Trinity) lives...

As I was reading Proverbs 29:18 (Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepth the law, happy is he.) I created this picture in my mind as this verse could be applied to those news stories of removing/wanting to remove the display of the 10 commandments from public sites...

I thought I would share a brief email correspondence that I and my pastor, Dan, recently had. On Sun, Sep 10, 2017 at 8:25 PM, Pastor Merrill <pastormerrill@sbcglobal.net> wrote: Hi Pastor. Last Sunday I copied down in my Bible the three faiths you gave us from James 2; dead faith, demonic...

Genesis 4:7. I have never liked how this verse is written in the KJV Bible, and have never liked how modern versions, some pastors, and other writers have tried to explain it. The KJV wording is hard to understand, but the modern versions haven't satisfied me to being good interpreters of...

In Genesis 15:5 the LORD tell Abram "I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward." Is this not true for all the children of God that place their faith in Him? Was it only true of Abraham? If we were to live our lives with the thinking that God was our protecting shield, would He then...

In the "Messianic Perspectives" magazine, Nov-Dec 2015, p. 11, Andrew Wilson of Kings Church in Eastbourne, England gives an answer to the supposed discrepancy of Mark 2:26. The Pharisees questioned Jesus why His disciples plucked corn on the sabbath day. Jesus replied by citing the story that...

Calvinists have their doctrines I don't agree with. Armenians have doctrine I don't agree with. Charismatics have doctrines I don't agree with. Catholics, Mormons, Jehovah's Witnesses, etc., etc., have doctrines I don't agree with. There are things that some Baptists will say, some...

As I was listening to my pastor teach on 1 Peter 3 this afternoon, I kept thinking it would be good to share it with CF. The disharmony I have been seeing on CF is in direct opposition to what 1 Peter 3:8 says, "...be ye all of one mind..." I know that is impossible with the various kinds of...

Jesus "The Branch" There is more than one verse that refers to Jesus as "The Branch". In Zec 6:12 it says "Behold the man, whose name is the Branch; and he shall grow out of his place and he shall build the temple of the Lord." I used to wonder why He was called "The Branch". Imagine the...

Replies on CF are limited in the size they are allowed. So to give a longer reply one must break it up into more than one reply. I have just recently done this, and so would like to duplicate those replies here as one: As I hesitate to write, thinking that I will be taken as uncaring or...
